    Playoff Chances

The Cover-2 is player dependent more than any other scheme, and if you don't have the necessary pieces, it just doesn't work. With the right personnel it is really effective, but the drop-off is huge with the wrong personnel. Right now we don't have the assets to play the Cover-2. I don't mind the Cover-2 when used in the right situations, but we go to it too often and get picked apart.

That would be a pretty significant change, and something I would applaud. Just replacing Turner will go a long way towards turning this thing around. If we can do that AND get a new DC who is not a Cover-2 only guy, that is icing on the cake. Essentially that takes the major components of the game plan out of Lovie's hands and puts him back in the standard HC role.

I fear that they are going to give everyone a pass on this season. What a nightmare.

    Playoff Chances

Watch, we actually show up, win, and extend the agony.
  5. Going for two in a row? Teams seem to be going in opposite directions. Bears like to be underdogs, current line is Bears +3.

    So you're saying there's a chance. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Ajr4...o&type=lgns
  7. Wow, his expressions are the same as the team's performance.
  8. There are 4 teams this year with a losing record that ended last year with a winning record: TEN 13-3, 5-7 CAR 12-4, 5-7 TB 9-7, 1-11 CHI 9-7, 5-7 There are only 3 teams with a winning record that had a losing record last year. CIN 4-11-1, 9-3 JAX 5-11, 7-5 GB 6-10, 7-4 There are also 8 teams that currently have a losing record and finished last year with one (STL, SEA, SF, DET, KC, OAK, CLE, and BUF). So if we end this year with a losing record, the odds are against us to rebound next year.
  9. I was hoping for a solid game all-around and was very disappointed. We were 3-13 on 3rd Downs and the Rams actually had more 1st downs than us. Our 5 wins are against teams with a combined record of 14-45.
  10. Haven't seen a poll in awhile. So where does Lovie's performance stand this year from a pure HC perspective.
  11. It is also really easy for Urlacher to talk when we are doing bad without him. If we were 7-4 or 8-3, you would not hear a peep out of him.
  12. They must be throwing darts to determine where Manning plays each week. Gilbert has been impressive, but we have too many linemen, so he sits? That makes sense.
  13. I just think, regardless of what people have said, no one expected the Bears to be sitting at 4-7 with Cutler having 20 INTs. What I do agree about in the article is that the Bears scheme is not playing to Cutler's strengths, and he definitely is not in his comfort zone. Add a horrible O-Line and receivers that you don't have full trust in, and that makes for a volatile situation.
  14. Pretty good read. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/cover-3/2...rong-jay-cutler
  15. I am the same way. I want change, but can't root against the Bears.
  16. Benson was diagnosed in Cincy with Celiac disease. My mother-in-law has it (allergic to gluten/wheat products) as well. If she eats anything with wheat in it, she gets lethargic and develops chronic fatigue. The weird thing is you can be fine your whole life and all of a sudden develop symptoms, etc. I assume Benson developed it while with the Bears, but was never tested for it. He always looked like he had no stamina or energy, and he now looks like the same back from Texas.
  17. Minnesota will probably rest half their team anyway.
  18. He has lost it. If he was released, I don't even know if another team would even pick him up.
  19. Another option I've seen around the web has been Kubiak.

    Could we be 7-4?

Just crazy to think we are on the verge of records for rushing futility.
  21. Not true, our defense has been on it a lot.
  22. I remember during the Vikings game Aikman mentioning that if the Bears had a few less turnovers (mainly INTs) in the close losses the Bears could've had 3 more wins than they currently have. I understand the what-ifs are BS, but....... Looking back at the games, Cutler had 4 INTs vs GB and we lost by 6. Against ATL, we had 2 INTs and a fumble and lost by 7. Against SF Cutler had 5 INTs and we lost by 4. I just wonder what the state of the team (mentality-wise) would be right now if we were sitting at 7-4 in the WC hunt. Regardless, it is amazing how a season can change so drastically from 2-3 plays in a few games.
  23. Bears win 27-17 and extend the false hope another week. In reality, I would just like to see a well executed game, even if it is against the Rams.
