I agree. It is seriously time to scrap it.
-
At least Benson only has 70 yards in the 1st quarter.
-
13 Cincinnati plays, 8 First Downs, 1 TD.
-
Our defense is horrible.
-
Harris is so bad right now that he can't even beat Omiyale during practice.
-
I think his play calling for the most part is decent between the 20s. However, he seems brutally predictable inside the Red Zone. We are currently tied for 18th in RZ scoring. A great stat site for those unique stats: http://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stats/ Cool stat - Only 1 team with a positive turnover ratio has a losing record (KC). We are currently at -0.2.

With their leading pass rusher out for the season (who also accounted for half of their sack total), Cutler should have more time in the pocket this week. Forte needs to get going again. I would also like to see Olsen show up this week.
-
Also, consider that 10th in Sacks is a raw stat. Only 1 team with 5 games played has more than us (PHI). All the other teams have already played 6 games. We are not going to catch DEN or MIN (21 sacks) in one week, but if we got 3 sacks this week we would be tied for 3rd in the league.
-
This is also some assurance from the organization that Cutler is our QB. Something that he was not getting from Denver. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come out hot on Sunday.

Just look at the game tapes (watch the Super Bowl) and forget all the other BS. Benson was a complete bust as the #4 pick. The Bears traded TJ to make Benson the feature back and he did not produce. 2005 - Jones 1300+ yds 2006 - Jones 1200+ yds 2007 - Benson 674 yds 2008 - Forte 1200+ yds I am sorry, that is not on the team.
-
4-2 should be the worst we do in that stretch.

At this point, most of those guys would be an upgrade.

The Bengals Antwan Odom, DE, was lost for the year. CIN has allowed a league-high 25 pass plays of 20+ yards. I think we matchup pretty well against the Bengals. Palmer is not very mobile, and Benson only gained 44 yards against Houston's defense. This was a game that I expected us to win before the season started, and I still believe we should win. Looking at our schedule, this is where we could go on an extended run (as long as we don't give away anymore games). After CIN, we have CLE and ARZ at home, then @ SF, and then PHI at home before going to MIN. It would be nice to head into MIN at 8-3. We also have a favorable schedule after the MIN game (STL and GB) at home, at BAL, then at home vs MIN, and a season finale at Detroit. That 2nd Minnesota game could be huge if we beat them in Week 12.

Three things about Forte. He seems to anticipate a hit, even when a hit is not coming. There was a play near the goal line vs Atlanta where he ran up the middle and just fell into the hole because he was leaning so far waiting to be hit. Another thing I saw was when he is wrapped up below the waist, he just drops like a wet noodle. Lastly, he is running into the backs of the O-Line more than I have ever seen him. Last year he would see that the hole is gone, and pop out to one of the sides. These things lead me to believe he is still hurt to some extent.

Yeah, we definitely need to at least acquire 1 solid OL via Free Agency.

Per Rotoworld: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...NFL&id=3608 Confirmed via NFL.com: http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/10/20/bears-cutl...ract-extension/

Atlanta was overpursing a lot. The Bears needed some mis-direction. Hell, if they are stacking the box, go to the shotgun and let Cutler pick them apart.
-
Yeah, Everything starts at the O-Line. We need some serious help there. It is pretty sad to see Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson both in the Top 5 in the NFL in rushing, and we have zero WR's in the top 40 in Receiving yards, while Cutler is about 16th in QBs (and behind Orton). All those guys are benefitting from solid O-Lines. Our defense is not actually playing bad. We held Atlanta to 253 total yards, 5-12 on 3rd Downs, and a TOP of 26 minutes. Compare that to what they did to SF and we actually look pretty good. Right now O-Line looks like the number 1,2, and 3 priority, with DB and LB coming next.
-
Yeah, but that was after we lost to GB. I just was shocked that no one picked us. Position by position breakdown, the only area they have an edge would be at WR. Otherwise it is pretty even, or we even have an edge.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks 16 so-called experts pick the Falcons. Not a single one picks the Bears, yet we are only 2.5 underdogs. The Jets are the only other unanimous pick to win. That means every other underdog received one vote. The odds makers are pretty good at the spread and they are actually saying the Bears are favorites on a neutral field (3 pts the normal home field advantage bonus). It is kind of funny to see their yearly records predicting the games. ESPN "experts" put CBS "experts" to shame.

Benson looks like a completely different back. He has speed that I have never seen before. On his TD run, he was stopped in the backfield and busted out for 25+ yards outrunning everyone on the field. In Chicago, he would just run into the backs of the OL. Could it be Turner?
-
I don't think we need help at WR, or at least it is not the top concern. So I would hate to give up a pick for something we don't really need.
-
With NYG, MIN, and NO all undefeated, they are clearly the forerunners, and essentially locks for the playoffs. Someone will win the west, and the 2 WCs will come from the other 3 divisions. Right now the Bears, Falcons, and Eagles are vying for 2 spots. So the game next week is huge. We stay ahead of the Pack, and push ahead of the Falcons.
-
They looked great this week vs SF. Almost 500 yards of offense, 8-15 on 3rd downs. This will be a huge test for us next week.
