  1. So none of these teams will make the playoffs: Atlanta 47 Dallas 48 Detroi 49 Denver 50 Chicago 51 Houston 52 Green Bay 54 St Louis 55 Baltimore 55 San Francisco 57 Philadelphia 60 San Diego 61 and these teams will: NY Jets 30 Oakland 30 Tampa Bay 34 Carolina 36 Cleveland 37 Scoring is way up this year if you haven't noticed, so historical comparisons for pts (for/against) is sort of irrelevant. Pts differential and turnover differential are better indicators, but even now it is still too early to compare. Maybe after 4 games (25% of season) is the earliest time to compare. ( Also, like Brian said, Minny had a ST and Defensive TD which would bring us down to 37 (18.5 per game) which is much more realistic to where the Bears defense is at.
  2. Of note, this is the first time in that same window that we have started 2-0 playing against playoff teams from last year, which makes those numbers even more impressive. Cincy is a really solid team, and Minny is always right there with AP and their Defense. I wonder how many sacks were allowed after 2 games during those seasons? Cutler 2013 - 1 sacks 2012 - 9 sacks 2011 - 11 sacks 2010 - 5 sacks 2009 - 4 sacks
  3. @ Steelers W @ Lions W vs. Saints W vs. Giants L @ Redskins W @ Packers L vs. Lions W vs. Ravens L @ Rams W @ Vikings L vs. Cowboys W @ Browns W @ Eagles L vs. Packers L Almost a worst case scenario like above would have us at 10-6, but I was figuring 3 divisional losses, 2 NFC losses, and 1 AFC loss. However, we could easily go 12-4 and it would not be a surprise at this point.
  4. Now dont F this up Special Teams, Walsh has a leg on him.
  5. Wow what a ridiculous game. Forte with a fumble now?
  6. This is Jay's chance to redeem himself, bring the team down for a TD and win this game.
  7. A Red Zone INT from the 1 yd line, a fumble that resulted in a Defensive TD, and another INT. With a league average QB there would be at least a 10 pt swing if not 14.
  8. Horrible pass by Cutler. There is no way he is back next year playing like this.
  9. Horrible play call for the 1 yard line.
  10. Should be 14-0, we gave them 2x TDs.
  11. Bennett probably got the wind knocked out of him after a circus attempt on a ball thrown outside the back of the end zone.
  12. Wow Special teams are scaring the hell out of me. Defense looks pretty good when you can make a QB try to get a 1st Down by throwing underhand.
  13. Depends on who your other WR's are, how many you start, and how many are on your bench. I still believe he will be productive with Jennings gone, but Nelson, Cobb, and Finley are clearly the top 3 options in that offense.
  14. Cowherd has Bears at #4 behind SEA, SF, and DEN. To me, I think anywhere from 5-10 is fair.
  15. Yeah, the zero sacks against Cutler was huge. Great to just survive Week 1 with a win vs a playoff team.
  16. Top 3 are no-brainers, but it is a crapshoot after that. The AFC is much weaker this year after DEN. NE has a lot of question marks with no Welker, Hernandez, and an injured Gronk. Baltimore is worse, Houston seems to about the same, and I can't see Indy repeating what they did last year. The Bears should be higher than Indy, Houston, and Baltimore for sure.

    Emery's Offense

and there is a realistic chance that Forte will be the only one left after this season.
  18. Between Kellen Davis and Webb, that is a huge addition by subtraction. You can almost add a game onto our win total this year just by not having them on the roster.
  19. Hate to see any players get injured, but this one helps the Bears a lot as Bulaga was the Packers LT and one of their better players.
  20. #10 might be a little high considering we didn't make the playoffs last year and replaced the entire coaching staff. I was figuring around #15 for a preseason ranking is reasonable, with maybe a high of 12 and a low around 18. A lot of things have to go right, which they can, but the law of averages says we will win between 7-11 games.
