A division and conference game, so its big. Don't have much faith with so many second string players playing, but you never know.

I thought they made gap adjustments at the line as well, which could be why we are getting thrashed in the running game. It seems like the other team gets a huge gain or a loss, no real in between.

Also I don't know how easy it is to do from the OLB position. That has to be a harder position/perspective to make calls from and it may even make him be out of position on certain plays.

Groin and hamstring injuries are brutal. I had a lingering groin pull for almost 6 months and every time I would try to run it would lock right up.

Yeah, McCown can completely tank, but just looking at the same team vs WAS with 2 different QB's was surprising. Cutler was completely ineffective and then McCown comes in and looks like the starter. I won't hold judgement for the GB game because they have had our number for years regardless of QB, but McCown did start against them a couple of years ago and was decent. If he can limit the INTs, it will be up to the defense to stop somebody.

I have an odd feeling that we just saw the last game we will see Cutler in a Bears uniform. Cutler does not fit Trestman's style of QB even though Cutler has performed very good when playing with discipline. If McCown can come in and perform like that, without any reps, it is hard to believe that he will not improve over time with 1st Team reps. We will see, but I just have an odd feeling about it.

To me the Briggs loss is bigger than Cutler right now. Cutler was basically playing really solid within the system but wasn't doing anything that far over the top. McCown should be able to come in and perform reasonably well. If it wasn't for the decimated defense, we would've won in Washington. It wasn't like Cutler was tearing it up before the injury. We got the ball at the WAS 47 and ended up moving the ball 18 yards and kicked a 47 yard FG. On the next drive, we started at the WAS 10 and Forte scored a TD. Cutler barely had to do anything at that point with us scoring 10 pts. Then he threw a pick-6 and only a few plays later he is out of the game and we are down 17-10. Then McCown comes in and has the 7th best game of the year for QBR, and did that in less than 3 quarters of play. With that said, the defense is what is going to determine the season. If we can stop anyone, we can easily be 2-2 or 3-1 in the next 4. STL is a win, they are worse than us. GB is a loss, but DET at home is winnable as long as we have Peanut on Megatron. Baltimore lost to Pittsburgh, that says enough. I would be happy with 2-2.

I found this interesting: At this point I would almost rather have a 5-11 or 6-10 season where we are getting a decent draft pick vs almost the guaranteed 8-8 and 9-7 with no playoffs anyway. Looking at the NFC picture, SEA or SF will have one WC, so if we get the other we have to beat out either GB or DET. GB has injuries, but continues to win. DET has 10-11 game potential.

Bears 31 - Redskins 20 Redskins have only 3 INTs and 15 PDs on the season, so it should be a fairly clean game for Cutler, which normally results in a win for us. My only concern is in our ability to stop the run.

I would rather draft a QB instead of using a roster spot on Ponder.

Peppers is clearly not 100%, hopefully this long break until next week, and then the bye will rejuvenate him for the stretch run. We need him to be a force on the line to either get pressures or draw double teams. He is normally a beast out there and he looks a step or two slower and weaker. Even though we probably miss Urlacher right now, for at least his leadership and knowledge of the game, I am excited to see Bostic get his shot with Williams out. He has the speed and strength to be really special. I can just picture him doing a Bridgewater to RG3.

That is brutal, and shows that even if we are in position to make a play, we are not executing. I wonder if this is the case league wide with players hesitant to make a tackle due to the new fines and leading with the helmet stuff.

The Safety play hasn't been that great either. When I look at those names and think back to those games, there were too many easy yards. Even the commentators were questioning how Green, Graham, Brown were so open. For the RBs, they would get to the 2nd level on almost every run.

Gould is pretty special. He should hit 1,000 pts by the end of the season, and if he can stay healthy and play deep into his 30s like other kickers, he has a chance to break into the top 10 all-time for scoring.

Our defense is totally inconsistent right now and has either been gashed by a RB with over 100 yards rushing or a Receiver with over 130 yards receiving. It is interesting that we have alternated with a big day for a Receiver to a big day for a RB every game so far. If things hold serve, then Garcon or another WAS Receiver is in for a big game. 1. That was a pitiful drive by the Bears defense. They cannot stop one of the worst rushing teams in the league. There is no way Jacobs should be running over people like that.

Tillman and Jennings had a great game against NO. WR's only had 3 receptions for 50 yards against them. So I would hope that they could do the same vs Nicks and Cruz.

I don't care about the record. We are a better team and we need to come out and play like one. It is a short week and we are at home, if we can't win in that situation, we don't belong in the playoffs anyway.
