  1. Well said. I like the idea. I just think they need to relook contracts in general. Maybe have some type of stipulation where if a team cannot cut you, you also cannot sit out. Maybe for the first 3 years of a deal or something along those lines. Another idea might be a limit on the amount of times players can renegotiate contracts.
  2. Broncos signed WR Darrell Jackson to a one-year, $1.5 million contract, according to NFL Network's Adam Schefter. Could've been a nice pickup for us.
  3. "With the 33rd pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select James Hardy, Wide Receiver, Indiana" The Atlanta Falcons and Ashkum Bear are now on the clock......
  4. "And that concludes the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft"
  5. I don't think Rice is even on the Bears draft board. Not that this place is gospel, but DraftTek even takes Rice out of the running to be drafted by the Bears along with Hart from Michigan and a bunch of QB's: http://www.drafttek.com/Override2008.html
  6. "With the 28th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Felix Jones, Runningback, Arkansas" - Jerry Jones rejoices. The San Francisco 49ers and MadLithuanian are now on the clock........
  7. Clady vs Ryan would be a hard decision. I think if both are available at 14, I would go with Ryan. Reasoning: If Clady is available, more than likely Williams, Otah, etc are all still available as well. Making it possible to still pick up quality OL in the 2nd round.
  8. You answered everything to a "t". Ryan would be your pick of the group if he was available, even if it is an extreme longshot. Then if Ryan/Clady are gone you would take Albert over Otah/Williams/Mendenhall/Stewart. So the next question is (to everyone), what does your big board look like if you are JA? Regardless if they will be there or not at 14, list your top 15 picks based on the Bears current team needs. Is Jake Long #1 on your big board? Where is McFadden, etc.
  9. I will be happy if we finish the first round by the time the draft starts. DB is alive, I see him....... Pick coming.......
  10. There are some guys that have about a 0.00001% of falling to us at 14, and would have to be convicted of some Pacman crime to get there. So I just took those guys out while still including a couple of long shots. The point was, if Clady, Ryan, and Mendenhall are there at 14, who would you take? Now if you believe there is no chance in hell that either will be there, then excluding them, who is your next pick?
  11. 3 out of the last 4 at home, and two warm weather teams (JAX/NO).
  12. Maybe a better way to ask it is how would you rank these players on the Bears draft board, regardless of the odds that they will be there at #14? That takes the guessing out of who you would pick.
  13. So if all things were equal, and you could choose one player at #14, who is it and why? Which Offensive Lineman fits the Bears the best? Would RB or WR be the best choice? Who is the best available at #14? I understand that ALL of them would not be available at #14, but more than likely a combination of them will be.
  14. This year, the Cowboys have the luxury of two late 1st round draft picks. This gives them some flexibility with their selections. Seeing that their WR corps is rapidly aging with TO and Terry Glenn. The Cowboys see a nice fit with a player who fell to them at #22. With the 22nd pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select Limas Sweed, Wide Receiver, Texas. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Drunkbomber are on the clock........
  15. Since some of their other targets have already been selected (Devin Thomas - WR) and with the recent run on CB's, the Eagles pick comes down to OT and S. With the draft being fairly deep for OL picks, the Eagles look to improve on the defensive side of the ball with one of the best players available. With the 19th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Kenny Phillips, Safety, from University of Miami (FL). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pixote are now on the clock............. 16. I think it has been over 24 hours since the last pick, so I am going to wait until lunch tomorrow to post mine. Hopefully that will be enough time for DabearsDabomb to get his in.
  17. I think if anyone is there that teams would trade up to get, it would be Ryan or Mendenhall.
  18. Balta, I don't think it necessarily means you are rebuilding immediately. It depends on the team. The Bears have serious question marks at QB as well as other positions. If Ryan is sitting there at 14 and all the top OL and RBs are off the board, then Ryan would have to be considered. Otherwise, look for a team wanting Ryan and trade down.
  19. Go with #1. $200 less plus it is 1080p. You can use the savings to buy a Blu-Ray player or sound system.
  20. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Au.2...p&type=lgns Just gotta laugh.
  21. I would sign him to Freeney money, but the deal would need to be cap friendly for at least a portion of the deal. The Bears have been pretty creative with their contracts recently. Also, I believe the Bears are still in their playoff window for the next few years. They need to do whatever they can to retain the solid corps of players they have.
  22. Already a couple of interesting picks.
  23. However, when you look at draft picks and certain positions, some are more valuable than others.
