  1. I never looked at it that way, but if you take that perspective into your search, you will seriously handicap yourself. Jones mediocre? He had almost 1,400 all-purpose yards. A 90% Faneca is still better than most of the guys on our line at 100%.
  2. Here is the problem with Arch: http://www.arch31.com/ He has a website that shows pictures of him on the Rams? Arch had one good year in STL and has been riding it since. He just turned 30, so he should not be declining yet.
  3. The only way I see us getting another 2nd rounder is if we traded down in the 1st, which is possible. However, I wouldn't like using a 2nd on a DT. I understand the concerns with injuries, but with the way some of those guys came on late in the season (Toeaina and Kennedy), the position looks pretty good. My favorite scenario is OL, QB, and WR taken in the first 3 picks (any order). I wouldn't mind Safety either, but some of this might shake itself out prior to the draft.
  4. How are we hypocrites? That makes absolutely zero sense. This situation is not like the others. The NFL has footage of this all the way back to 2000 (unless the Commish destroyed it). This is not a theory or some rumor to make them look bad. This was something they actually did, knowingly. All teams have footage of the games, but taping the "supposedly" closed workouts is just flat out wrong. Just think of the advantage a team has if they basically know what the defense is going to do on every play.
  5. Yeah, I think the Bears realize this now after getting rid of Harris last year.
  6. The draft. I enjoy the coverage, and the new format should speed things up.
  7. Here we go: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Age....p&type=lgns
  8. Released by Atlanta, along with Crumpler, Gandy, and few others. Leftwich anyone? How about Gandy to add some depth the O-Line? http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jvI4Mc7...lPN1dwD8UQU24G1
  9. It would depend on the money. If he would take a cheaper deal like Seau so the other holes could be addressed, I would not mind it. The concussions are a concern, but the car accident did not help his situation.
  10. If we are going to overpay for any position, it seems like O-Line would be the best place to do it. I was just concerned with the length of the contract. Like nfo said, Faneca would have a positive effect on the entire offense. Better pass protection, and a better running game. Also, adding a nasty attitude always helps too.
  11. Cut him. It was worth a shot last year, but he is clearly done as a viable option at Safety.
  12. The funny thing is how many times have you heard "The Pats were one step ahead of us today" in a postgame conference? Now we know why.
  13. At 31, how long of a deal would you give him? I would love to have him (for about the next 3 years), but it seems like he is looking for a monster deal. It would probably be worth it for a couple of years, but I could see a team regretting a long deal.
  14. Chris Harris signs 4 year extension with Panthers. http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/10643836 This is one of those moves you wish JA could take back.
  15. Go with a Honda Odyssey or Hyundai Entourage. Honda has better resale, but will cost more with the same features. Hyundai has the better warranty.
  16. As long as he has lost a step, any throw should be right in the bread basket.
  17. Booker was behind Booker?
  18. Hester attracts the casual fans and helps sell merchandise to others outside of the Chicago area. I'm in Texas and the only 2 Bears jerseys I see down here are Urlacher and Hester.
  19. Darwin Walker for $6.5? At least it doesn't say the Bears plan to bring them back.
  20. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....er-back-to.html
  21. He said Booker "never had a problem dropping the ball", which means he drops the ball easily. Now if he never had a problem catching the ball, that would be a different story. Now that would make sense. The only issue would be the cap hit. Would Booker salary+Moose Cap hit be more than Moose's 2008 salary?
  22. For a player though, all it takes is one hit and his career can be over. If Hester is offered a deal and passes on it, he is risking a lot more than he would be gaining by waiting for more money. There are more bad things that can happen than good. What if he flops as a WR and his return skills decline because teams scheme against him better? His value would drop. If he gets injured, his value will drop. So for him, it seems like now would be the best time to cash in. Also, if he does a 4 or 5 year deal and becomes an elite receiver, at least he will have a little peace of mind. Deal or No Deal.
  23. The only way I would not pick an O-Lineman with #14 would be if someone like Phillips was still on the board. Now here is a question, which QB would you take at #14 if they were still there? Brohm? Ryan? Woodson? Henne?
  24. For some reason this doesn't sound right.
