  1. If you look at the Super Bowl year roster the only OLine starter drafted by the Bears was Kruetz. So this is not something new nor has it always been a weakness. I just think they went this route one too many times and it didn't work out. They took some chances going with Pace and Omiyale, and drafting Williams. The worst case scenario has played out with all three of them not living up to expectations.
  2. A win would be huge and keep us in the hunt for the WC, but a loss essentially makes a playoff run almost impossible.
  3. nfo, I agree that most of those would be good moves. HH should be in the middle, and that move alone may turn the tide on defense. For the OLine, I don't know about the Tackle swap at this point. Williams is having enough trouble on the right side. I like this move, but I don't know how effective it would be during the season. You are right about Olsen, put start Clark and hopefully light a fire under Olsen's ass.
  4. It is almost like the Bears staff and front office are watching another team every Sunday. We come out of the Bye Week completely flat and lose a winnable game against ATL, then crap the bed completely vs Cincinnati. Anyone with any football knowledge can see our Offensive Line is brutal. Cutler has been pressured constantly since Day 1, and there are been very few holes to our RBs to run through. Omiyale may be the worst OL in the league, yet he has started every game for us? If Turner truly believes he is a "good" football player, we are in real trouble.
  5. Jay is going to win us some games, but right now, we are a 7-8 win team with Jay, and probably a 5-6 win team with Kyle.
  6. He would get his money on any team. Denver has to be loving this trade now. Every Chicago loss gives them a better draft pick.
  7. Then our Offensive Line is the 2%ers at best. You are correct though. There is no accountability. Everyone is fat, dumb, and happy pulling a paycheck. I wonder if Cutler is regretting this trade now?

    What is wrong?

We need a philosophy change. Certain schemes only work when you have the right personnel. We don't have the right personnel on defense for the Cover-2. On offense, we have an offensive line that does not allow us to execute our schemes.
  9. When have the Bears truly looked prepared this year? If we have a losing season, we need to go in a different direction (coaching and scheme-wise). The Cover-2 is outdated, and the offensive scheme is horrible.
  10. I agree. It is seriously time to scrap it.
  11. At least Benson only has 70 yards in the 1st quarter.
  12. 13 Cincinnati plays, 8 First Downs, 1 TD.
  13. Harris is so bad right now that he can't even beat Omiyale during practice.
  14. I think his play calling for the most part is decent between the 20s. However, he seems brutally predictable inside the Red Zone. We are currently tied for 18th in RZ scoring. A great stat site for those unique stats: http://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stats/ Cool stat - Only 1 team with a positive turnover ratio has a losing record (KC). We are currently at -0.2.
  15. With their leading pass rusher out for the season (who also accounted for half of their sack total), Cutler should have more time in the pocket this week. Forte needs to get going again. I would also like to see Olsen show up this week.
  16. Also, consider that 10th in Sacks is a raw stat. Only 1 team with 5 games played has more than us (PHI). All the other teams have already played 6 games. We are not going to catch DEN or MIN (21 sacks) in one week, but if we got 3 sacks this week we would be tied for 3rd in the league.
  17. This is also some assurance from the organization that Cutler is our QB. Something that he was not getting from Denver. I wouldn't be surprised to see him come out hot on Sunday.
  18. Just look at the game tapes (watch the Super Bowl) and forget all the other BS. Benson was a complete bust as the #4 pick. The Bears traded TJ to make Benson the feature back and he did not produce. 2005 - Jones 1300+ yds 2006 - Jones 1200+ yds 2007 - Benson 674 yds 2008 - Forte 1200+ yds I am sorry, that is not on the team.
  19. 4-2 should be the worst we do in that stretch.

  21. At this point, most of those guys would be an upgrade.
  22. The Bengals Antwan Odom, DE, was lost for the year. CIN has allowed a league-high 25 pass plays of 20+ yards. I think we matchup pretty well against the Bengals. Palmer is not very mobile, and Benson only gained 44 yards against Houston's defense. This was a game that I expected us to win before the season started, and I still believe we should win. Looking at our schedule, this is where we could go on an extended run (as long as we don't give away anymore games). After CIN, we have CLE and ARZ at home, then @ SF, and then PHI at home before going to MIN. It would be nice to head into MIN at 8-3. We also have a favorable schedule after the MIN game (STL and GB) at home, at BAL, then at home vs MIN, and a season finale at Detroit. That 2nd Minnesota game could be huge if we beat them in Week 12.
  23. Three things about Forte. He seems to anticipate a hit, even when a hit is not coming. There was a play near the goal line vs Atlanta where he ran up the middle and just fell into the hole because he was leaning so far waiting to be hit. Another thing I saw was when he is wrapped up below the waist, he just drops like a wet noodle. Lastly, he is running into the backs of the O-Line more than I have ever seen him. Last year he would see that the hole is gone, and pop out to one of the sides. These things lead me to believe he is still hurt to some extent.
  24. Yeah, we definitely need to at least acquire 1 solid OL via Free Agency.
