Kahlil Bell refuses pay cut,
Booker is much better on Special Teams and Allen is a compliment back to Forte and Bush.

Kahlil Bell refuses pay cut,
Interesting, so it looks like he would've made the team if he took a pay cut, but since he wouldn't, the Bears will go with Allen or Booker for the lower price.

Big Reason Im pumped for this year
This gets me pumped too: Nice Catch Jeffery seems really polished for a rookie WR, sitting down in space, and even switched hands when he didn't have the sideline to protect him.

Urlacher... second scope
There is no way to justify playing Urlacher vs MIN last year. He can be injured at any point, but when he does in a meaningless game, that is just bad player management. Derrick Rose vs Philly comes to mind. Yeah, even that week is questionable. I would almost want to exercise extreme caution in this case, and wait until October 1st in Dallas. We should be able to beat Indy and STL without him, but GB is going to be a tough game anyway, especially in GB. If they did that, he would only have to play 2 games before getting another week off at the bye.

Jeffery destroying the Redskins.

Offense looks sick. Marshall and Jeffery with some big receptions. Cutler looks sharp.

Urlacher undergoes knee surgery
Oh wow, thats very good news.

Urlacher undergoes knee surgery
Horrible news with Green Bay in Week 2. Hopefully it is only a minor procedure.
-
Urlacher speaks
His injury is huge, and that fact that he said he was pretty sure he would be ready for week one is worrisome. The defense is completely different without him in the middle.

I know it is early and only one preseason game
I dunno, you can't say none of this counts as assessments are always ongoing. From college, to OTA's, to preseason games, to the regular season, there is some translation between those.

I know it is early and only one preseason game
it sucks to see other potential 1st round draft picks excelling (per Rotowolrd): The Bears were linked to Coples, Mercilus, Ingram, and Jones at some point before the draft. I really hope McClellin proves the doubters wrong, but right now he is sort of behind the power curve.

Denver @ Chicago, 8/9/11, Preseason Game Thread #1
0-11 on 3rd Down on the night. Team looked pretty bad, hopefully it is just us keeping the playbook simple and not showing our hand. Defense didn't look any better.

McClellin ate up on the goalline run for TD.

Nate Collins looking good at DT. Getting a lot of pressure.

Hanie getting sacked by a Bear, how ironic.

OLine, Marshall, and all the rooks.

What to look for tonite
Only Peppers had more than 7 last year, Melton had 7. So if McClellin can get 7+, that would be huge. However, just like with Peppers, the stats don't always tell the whole story. Peppers almost affects every single passing play. So even if McClellin doesn't get 7 sacks, but gets a alot of pressures, that would be just as productive. A holding call is equal to a 10 yard sack.

Good read on Cutler and Marshall
Yeah that is awesome. If you are going to blame me for something, I am going to go out and do what I am being blamed for. I will show you detrimental, lol!

Good read on Cutler and Marshall
Yeah, it is great when you have that excitement and trust. I am really expecting a huge year out of them. I did not know what caused Marshall's incident, but that is pretty funny. Wow, McDaniels is a little weasel.

Good read on Cutler and Marshall
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--bears-br...Y3Rpb25z;_ylv=3 I had to laugh at this Marshall comment about Cutler and WR's: However, it is nice to see their maturation.

Bears signed Derek Walker
- Sorry Jason
I'll take Marshall and Jeffery over TO and Moss. Moss probably has something left, but Alex Smith will be under throwing to him. TO on the other hand is older than me, and was out of football last year. He hasn't played since ACL surgery. I doubt he will have a huge impact.- Rashied Davis Signed to 1 year deal
This will be interesting, because in terms of receiving duties, Marshall replaced Williams and Jeffery replaced Knox. You could say Weems replaced Hurd, leaving Hester, Bennett, and Sanz as the last 3 on the roster. Now if they want someone else on coverage units instead of Weems who would be the primary returner, then Davis has the upper hand. However, that is only if Weems won't be on coverage units. This will be something to watch. Sanz is the better WR, but Davis is a decent WR who plays good ST. With our upgrades at WR, Sanz seems to be the odd man out. - Sorry Jason
