I know this sucks to say, but that game really hurt Fields' trade value. I don't know what team looks at that performance and says I want that guy and I am willing to give up a top 60 pick for him. Just two weeks ago, Bryce Young put up 312 passing yards, 2 TDs on the same defense. I would say his value has dipped to a 3rd and maybe a future late round pick. I doubt any team in the first half of the draft is going to give up a top 50 pick for Fields seeing that performance. Not that fantasy pts mean anything, but they are honestly a quick way to see if a player did anything of value at their position for the game. Fields had the 4th worst performance against the Packers this season, only Winston, Rypien, and Pickett were worse. Tommy Devito, Jimmy G, Derek Carr, Desmond Ridder, Russell Wilson, and even Nick Mullens last game had a better game than Fields, and Mullens came in, in relief of Jaren Hall and only played a half of football.

The best option for Fields is to go somewhere and sit for a year or two. He has taken a beating.
-
Going to 2 or 3 seems like the most likely option if they don't use the #1 pick. I don't think they go lower than that.
-
Trades are still in play for both of the picks I believe.

I do feel terrible for Fields, he is such a warrior. He went the entire season without a single call on those late hits. That was BS.

I have no clue what he is going to do, but the progress has to be assessed on it's own. If they throw away last year fine. what were the goals this season, and if they were met, cool, but if not, then thats cool too. Flus' teams have only beaten Goff and Murray as average to above average QBs. Fields has NEVER won when the opponent scores 21 or more. The division record for me is the kicker for Flus. It's great that you went 5-6 outside of the division playing the last place schedule, but only going 2-4 in the Division this year, and 0-6 last year is terrible. Rushing 4 when you absolutely need pressure was the kicker for me. He went passive when they needed to be aggressive. Playing soft zone against a Shanahan offense is shooting yourself in the face.

Flus has 10 wins in two seasons and is only 2-10 in the Division in the last two years. Poles motto is "take the north and never give it back". If you can't even go .500 in your division, you are not even close to "taking the north". So to me that is the more damning stat. The Bears needed at least a 3-3 record this season in the division and couldn't do it. Also, the Bears finished LAST in the Division again. So as much as you can point to win-loss improvement, it didn't mean squat in the division. He is out.

It may not be the most popular route to go, especially because Fields is such a great leader and teammate, but this group has won 10 games in the last 34. A 10-24 record. Fields is 8-22 in those games and 10-30 overall. This is not a tough decision. There is no way Fields returns. For Flus, you have to win the Division before you do anything else. He is 2-10 in the Division. I could care less about the improvement. It was clear it came from player acquisition and health, not some Flus magic. The Sweat trade and the players coming back from injury turned the defense around. Playing CAR, ATL, and ARZ helped. Also playing MIN with Dobbs. They are 1-3 in the last 4 games against real teams, 1-1 against DET, loss to CLE, loss to GB. Those are the only games that matter. I feel like I had some recency bias lately and the wins, because they are so rare were fool's gold. The Bears were beating bad teams, like they should. The roster is solid, but there are still holes to fill. I feel like the team would be stuck in neutral if they run this back. Could they make the playoffs with Fields, sure, but that is not saying much. This offense scares no one. The same QB that played against ATL at home was AWOL today in GB. That is sad and unfortunate, but it is the reality of the league. Take the name out of the equation, and just look at the body of work. It is subpar and the QB position needs to be upgraded to take the next step.

I have been teetering on the fence to keep Fields or draft a QB. It is really a tough decision, but today made it very clear for me. The entire time it has been talked about that the offense looks like gaining yards is tough, scoring is tough, well today that was on full display. They had nothing to lose and that is how they played. The Bears offense scored 9 points. If I am an offensive player, I am embarrassed. The only highlight is Santos broke Gould's record for FGs in a season, but the sad part is that means the offense left A TON OF POINTS on the field. I do not control what Poles does, but if I had a vote, I would go with a clean slate, new HC, new OC, and new QB.

Bears lose, draft #9. They got 2 top 10 picks! That is the silver lining. You feel ok taking a QB knowing you have a 2nd top 10 pick.
-
Yeah, even in wins, most were brutal unfortunately. There were about 4-5 good games, the rest sucked, and the year before all 17 sucked.
-
For how bad we felt the defense played, they only allowed 17 pts.
-
9 points on offense
-
Welp, thats it boys.

Game over, even if they stop them, it will be 15 seconds left to go at least 60 yards. Fields last drive as a Bear, with a chance to tie the game, in the 4th quarter, they gained 18 yards and had to punt. Unfortunately, the Fields era is over.
-
Love has torched this soft coverage, but the Bears have made it super easy. The TE came out late, so no one was assigned to him in coverage? He was wide open.
-
On 3rd and 8 on probably the most important play of the game, you rush 4, seriously.
-
We will see if they throw on 3rd and 8 and trust Love. When the Bears have the lead, they run the ball on 3rd and 8 and take the ball out of Fields hand.
-
Herbert barely gets 2 yards. Jones is not touched until he is 2 yards past the LOS. The LBs are 5 yards deep. Making it easy.
-
You have 2nd and long, give receivers 5 yards cushion and bring no pressure? This is so embarrassing.
-
Soft zone on 2nd down and long wtf.
-
Not only was that a terrible screen pass, Scott can't block a DB for 0.0045 seconds. That was another whiffed pick by Poles. He does nothing even average and is a waste of a roster spot imo.
-
What a joke, this thing is over. Unless the defense forces a turnover and scores, this is a loss.
-
GB holds on every play.
