wasn't raggin on you hoof. sorry bout that.
-
Ahh he is a quick twitch guy....that solves it. Hass is white...twitch isn't associated with him. pfftt...
-
Sounds a lot like someone already on the team. IMO, Wasted pick...we have bigger beeds than another poss receiver.
-
That won't happen, but I'd love if the Bears got him. So what does this Forte pick mean for Wolfe? EDIT: Spoke too soon...Hester just went to SD.

I'd love some honey back!!!!

Ahhh back to a lot of noon games. I hate waiting until 3:15.

Nice write up. The lack of any statistical improvement isn't your fault...you don't have any yet. You did enlighten me a bit on how the Bears were handling the situation. Hopefully, when we see Beek in the future months we'll see that the training regimen has paid off.

If he wants Freeney money...then sayonara Tommie.

I agree about the underage thing....but everything else is crap IMO. If this was a Sat night before game day, I can see the problem. But I have no prob with him if he still wants to do beer bongs and party with girls. I was doing the same thing at his age. It's not like you hit 21-22 and you're suppose to be mature and stop partying. Funk that....Maybe some live their lives like that, but to each their own. There's nothing wrong with him partying his fuckin ass off if it isn't interfering with his job. Short of him pulling a Kerry Wood...he can sit in the hot tub with as many chicks as he wants. He went to a bar with friends, met some college peeps and invited them to party back at his place.

Story The San Francisco 49ers forfeited their fifth-round pick in next month’s NFL draft after commissioner Roger Goodell said they tampered with Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs. In a statement released by the league Monday, Goodell also said the teams will switch picks in the third round of the April 26-27 draft. Chicago, which had the 12th pick, will get San Francisco’s seventh pick and the 49ers will get Chicago’s choice.

Yeah, but don't you think that will change when the season starts? -

I know this was prolly just a slip up, but wanted to point it out cause I'm not sure if you still would feel the same way. The article was about Jake Scott. He went from the Colts to the Titans. It really had nothing to do with the draft or who we would take in the draft or if him falling would affect the Bears. As far as I know the Bears were never even rumored to be looking at him. (They should have been...in fact what the freak are they doing...can we upgrade the god dam line...It's the biggest need of the offseason and it hasn't been addressed...someone needs to remove their head from their ass....this bullshit better....) ahem...sorry bout that. Anywho, I think that post could have gone either way...it could have stayed or been moved. It was a judgement call. It was really just a link to a signing, but it was def borderline cause the post did ask about Angelo. If the post had some more depth about the O line and how we need to address it or was more about Angelo's inadequacies, and the link was just attached to show another Olineman got away, then I think it would have stayed and we wouldn't be talking abotu this. Even if it was a silly rant like I have above...I think it would have probably stayed, cause the premise is still the Bears and the oline, but when the premise is some player signing on another team, then I can see why it was moved. Still a judgement call though and borderline and I would actually be for it staying where it was. Currently, things like this aren't such a big deal, but when the season starts and there's a lot more chatter and threads going around...that's when it becomes an issue. As someone who was also a member of bearstalk, it drove me nuts to make a post on something and then check it later on or the next day and have to look a few pages away for it because there were so many threads started. Especially on a Monday...everyone had to start their own thread. I wasn't too crazy with that setup, but I did really enjoy a lot of the posters. I know if you were on it for awhile, you became used to it, but I have never seen another board setup like that. I hated having to click every post to read it. I much prefer just clicking the thread and everything's open in front of me and I can just scroll to read the whole thing. I know there's a couple people that posted on the old board that this site is just terrible and a joke and they just can't stand it here...I'm guessing it's because of the format and not the posters, but who knows. Either way, I think most would get used to this format and even end up liking it more...but it's all really personal preference. -
I'm fuckin disgusted how we are handling the O line right now. I'm also disgusted that we have no clue what Oakley or Beekman can offer because this staff refused to get them some experience last year. Metcalf...pfft we know what he offers...He's fuckin horrible. He shouldn't even be on the team next year. He's not even a servicable back up.

Speaking of show me the money, has Urlacher been quoted anywhere as saying he wants a new deal? I don't know who was on the Score last night, but he was bitching about Urlacher wanting to rework his deal and how he thinks it's a load of crap. Urlacher should just play out his contract. He signed it and now half way into it he wants to renig on his end. yada yada yada. While I agree, to some extent, about players that sign deals, then want to change it a couple years later. I haven't heard anything from Urlacher regarding this. Maybe this all stems from Couch's article, but there isn't one quote from one source in the whole dam thing. What kind of reporting is that?? If Urlacher went to the Bears quitely and asked if his contract could be reworked to get more inline with what's going on today, I really don't have a problem with it. All of us try to get more money at our job. Normally, I say screw you, play out the contract you signed, but if he went to them amicably and there's no talk of hold outs(which I could never see him doing) or anything, and the Bears can get him some guranteed money without straining the cap or whatever..then I'm all for it. He's our best player and has proved his value.

I don't have too much of a problem with the signing per se. He definitely is in the bottom echelon of what was out there, but there is little downside and plenty of up to the move. The thing I will have a problem with is if Lovie gives the advantage to a guy like Brandon Lloyd in training camp. I want Bradley, Hass, Rideau, and any rookie we draft to get an equal shot. I've said it before, IMO, there isn't one receiver on this team that I think deserves to have an upper hand in camp. They all need to prove themselves the same. If Lovie comes in saying Booker and Lloyd are the 1 and 2, I will be pissed. I want the best receivers to be starting. Experience does not equal best at the WR position. Let them battle it out. If Lloyd and Booker are it, then that's great. However if some rookie we draft in the 3rd round or something, is smart, getting open, catching everything and outplaying those guys, then dammit he should start. God knows whoever our QB is, he will need the best we have out on the field. Lloyd is known for his alligator arms, which probably won't show up at all in training camp cause he won't get hit.

Hear that noise?? That's Jerry scraping the bottom of the barrell.

I honestly don't think Booker can beat out Bradley. I think Booker will provide some veteran leadership. Thats why they brought him in and thats why he'll make the team, but talent wise...I think Bradley and maybe even Hass are better. Unfortunately, I think Hester, will be nothing more than a niche receiver. He definitely has more talent than all of the above, but I'm not sure he has the mental capabilities to be an every down guy. As for Booker, I really hope they don't confuse veteran presence with being a better player. It's nice to have that guy that can say 'hey I've been there before', but don't discount the heart of a young guy looking to take advantage of his opportunity. The big thing with our receivers is they're unproven, that doesn't mean they don't have more talent. I could see guys not getting a chance last year because we had our top 2 guys set in stone with Berrian and Moose. This year, reps should be split between all the guys equally until at least the second game of camp. May the best man win. If Booker comes in and looks equally as good as Bradley, Hass or whoever else they bring in...then I say he gets the upper hand, but if he is getting beat by the other guys and dropping balls, by no means should he get a pass.
-
I just hope whoever they bring in...they leave it a wide open competition in camp. Not one player on this roster or the FA's being discussed are worthy of being handed a starting job and that includes Booker.
-
I think Benson will be fine if we improve the line. I'm still pissed we passed on Faneca.

Daily Herald put the figure at $3.5 million over 2 years.

Oh I'm sure I shocked the whole board with that pick.
