Yeah, well you arent an ex football player who already made plenty of money and has the luxury of staying home when your loved ones get sick. If my mother or mother in law got sick and I could afford it, I absolutely would stay home with her.

Right, the Spread offense does not work in the NFL because the NFL defenses are too fast. These college OCs look brilliant when they are tacking on points at the expense of horrible defenses and all the sudden Bears fans start pining for the good old days of Gary Crowton because he used to score alot. Except that he didnt score alot, and the bubble screen was worthless, and he quit on the team midseason because he couldnt hack it.
-
What defense did Gary Crowton wear down before he left the team before the season was over? I forget, because I really remember the Gary Crowton era offense sucking. Only offensive minded coach in the last 20 years? Is that discounting Ron turners first run when Erik Kramer and Curtis Conway broke records? From what I remember, that offense was pretty damn good And remind me when Gary Crowtons offense was scoring. Was it in 1999, when Shane Mathews was the QB and Curtis Enis was the RB and the team went 6-10?(ranked 25th in points per game) Or was it in 2000 when McNown was the QB and James Allen was the RB and the team went 5-11? (ranked 28th in points per game) Reference

Greg Williams will be in the hunt for a HC job before he gets another DC job. In fact, I wouldnt be surprised if he succedds Gibbs, I am pretty sure he is considered an Associate Head Coach/ Defensive Coordinator

well, the joke got one response. i was gonna post : *crickets*

No, Cleveland has Brady Quinn waiting in the wings and cannot afford to let this become an issue. Had Cleveland drafted someone else, I think Cleveland would be making an effort to resign right now rather than look for compensation.
-
Pass, I still havent forgiven him for "Jersey Girl".
-
what. you are surprised? We have had all year to prepare for it, time to let it go. Dan Snyder could care less about Cap hits, the guy just spends money like a loon trying to buy a championship. Briggs I expect, berrian will just go the way other slot recievers have gone in Washington, huge payday and no results
-
something tells me that if those guys could play a professional sport, that they wouldnt be on American Gladiators
-
Really? I always thought of him as more of a shifty between the tackles type runner as opposed to a north south runner like Benson is. But admittedly I havent watched much of Edge except in his scattered games against the Bears with the Colts and Cardinals.

Im saying purely for the numbers game alone that Wolfe is the odd man out. Wolfe isnt competing for the starting spot against Benson, and he isnt taking the # 2 spot from AP, and someone is going to be either drafted or brought in to compete for the starting spot. Unfortunately I just dont see him sticking. I could be wrong, so many things could happen before the first day of the pre-season, but as of right now this is just how I see it shaking out.

they have that FB on IR that they drafted in the last year, JD Runnels.

Green isnt the universal color for sarcasm, just in the soxtalk.com/bearstalk/talkbulls universe as far as I know. Sometimes you gotta let them know that it means sarcasm, maybe put it in the Bearstalk sticky thread at the top of the page
-
Do you think that Angelo is going to carry 4 running backs next year? i dont, and we already know there is going to be competition for Benson outside of the AP and Wolfe. In other words, He Gawn
-
fixed that for you

Many things baffle us about you. Wolfe, Benson, etc. We all baffle each other

currently getting PT in the NFL basically it boils down to the effort required to move Wolfe to a slot WR and is it worth the effort? If you could sign someone who can play the position without having to teach them the position, draft someone, or move someone currently on the team (Davis, Hester, Bradley, Hass etc.) then why would you want to go through the growing pains of teaching a grossly undersized player a new position that doesnt really put him in position to succeed? Im thinking the Wolfe experiment is pretty much over. He isnt Warrick Dunn
-
Name me one WR that is the same height as Wolfe (5'7", said to be closer to 5'6")
-
Yeah, Pittsburgh first lost Marvel Smith, then lost Max Starks. Their O line was definitely compensating for the loss of some pretty key pieces.

Agreed. It isnt as if Turner and Babich didnt have prior experience in the NFL and Lovie just called them up and asked if they wanted to throw their hat into the ring. No, they most certainly would have had jobs in the NFL this season. Now the question is, after the 2007 season was over would they be able to retain their jobs if they were employed by other teams and they had the same sort of result? To that question, I think the answer is no.

As was pointed out earlier in the thread, it is pretty obvious that these guys are using kickoff and return averages rather than seeing the whole body of work and how Hester affects the oppositions kicking game. Sure, Hester isnt getting the bigger kick return averages that Cribbs gets, but I seriously doubt that Cleveland is getting the same starting field position that the Bears got all last year as a result of Cribbs waiting for the kick/punt. This is what happens when people only look at the numbers and make decisions.

Uh, hello, that wasnt what Angelo said, but rather speculation from the writer of the article.
-
I dont get what you are saying here. No matter what I begin to post in this thread, it always says "Replying to Sounds like Ced needs competition" above the post, and then when I actually post what i wrote there is no title at all. Im not complaining about your post method, I just dont understand what you are trying to accomplish.

From everything I have heard from the Score and ESPN beat reporters on down to Hub Arkush, the only thing that is keeping Hass of the field is his speed. Welker can flat out fly, and he always has been able to. Hass is percieved to be slow, and unless he can change that perception he is going to be what he is, a practice squad player.

I think Turner would be gone by now if they had made a decision to hire a new OC. There is no point in waiting it out and letting him go later, the early bird gets the worm.
