LOL @ all of the "Yay Im here!" threads

Yeah, he has earned his paycheck. The line around him is falling apart and Olin is always having to back up the inferior talent around him and throw multiple blocks to give any QB extra time that the rest of the line cannot. All of those delay of game penalties were on Olin? Are you kidding me? Im not going to argue with you, the one thinking that Tait is the best(why dont you count how many false start penalties Tait has accrued and compare that with the delay of game penalties that you assigned to Olin), there is a reason that Kreutz is considered one of the best centers in the game of football. He may get a pro bowl based on reputation. Want to know how you get that kind of reputation? By being damn good.
-
the funny thing about Olineman is that they are usually done when they say they are done. Its wierd, with how much they get beat up all year, but they usually seem to last a while in the league(the good ones at least)
-
you know, there is a lot of quality O-lineman out there this year. I had no idea past Adams and Faneca that there was this much depth in the FA market
-
Yeah, i dont agree with this one bit. Olin is the only one worth his paycheck on the line

Kyyle23, member at Soxtalk, talkbulls, talkbears. smartass, dumbass, jackass, all apply. But I am usually fair. usually. And what happened to everything else(missing posts)? Archived? Lost in the update?

The Bears running game didnt start out lights out last year either 2006 vs Green Bay Jones 21 runs 63 yards(3.0 average), 1 catch 0 yards Benson 11 runs, 34 yards (3.1 average) no catches 2007 Benson vs Chargers 19 runs 42 yards(2.2 average), 1 catch 11 yards 2007 Jones vs Patriots 14 runs, 42 yards(3.0 average), 1 catch 6 yards We also have to remember that the Bears just faced one of, if not the best run defenses in the NFL last year, not to mention a tremendous home field advantage for their opponent(despite the loud and numerous bears fans, the Chargers rarely lose there). I would have loved Benson to go off on the Chargers, but I would have been lying if I said I expected it.

i agree completely. The question isnt "how do you get sacked twice right in the face?" The question is "How the hell can the line(specifically Fred miller) let a lineman run straight at Grossman untouched on a straight pass play?" Grossman got hit both times on the third step of a 3 step drop. He didnt hesitate, he didnt mess up, he got hit when he stopped to look at the field both times.

No mystery here. Briggs was hammered, got in a wreck, and had a buddy pick him up before the police got there. Apparently briggs felt that leaving the scene of an accident would be better than a DUI
-
Can you remember the last time the Bears had the arrow pointing up for (at least) a 3 year period of time? Lovie and Jerry have done a tremendous job of bringing consistency back to the Bears organization, its nice to feel like the Bears can compete year-in year-out. The Wannstedt era almost completely ruined me
-
You are correct, sir!
-
All the tea in china has nothing to do with this thread. Your reasoning is still exceptional, i see So what you are saying is that Grossman isnt the only quarterback in the league that fumbles? astonishing Well, all those other quarterbacks must suck too..... Drew Stanton isnt on that list, he must be the best ever
-
Wow. Just, wow.
-
I know, it looked awful. But I didnt see any threads about his first preseason game where he was error free. Why? Because it means nothing. People are so polarized with Grossman, and everybody expects the world from him when he is just learning still. Its hard to believe that so many people are willing to toss aside a quarterback who got to the superbowl last year. And yes, I know the defense had a large part in it. But Grossman was largely responsible for the team starting off as hot as they did, and everyone seems to forget 5 great games in light of one bad one.

This is a gem. Im gonna hold on to this one, right next to the Spurrier theories Im curious, why isnt Jarrett Payton the greatest running back in the history of the universe? His bloodlines show this is to be the case, why isnt he?
-
Who is offering excuses?
-
Yes, because Spurrier wasnt his coach, right?
-
It always amazes me how quiet it is when Grossman is good and how loud it is when he is bad. The preseason means nothing
-
To me, this is preseason. While the turnovers were horrid and inexcusable, they meant nothing. Good ole Chitownman. Anyone can find diamonds in the rough, right? Lets start digging!

Jets RB Jones injures right leg during practice
kyyle23 replied to DrunkBomber's topic in Soldier Field
You know, Jones has had injury issues but he still rarely missed games for the Bears. I hope this isnt serious though -
Screw Briggs, Im happy that Angelo is sticking to his guns. He will return before the end of training camp in a miraculous turn of face, sign his deal, and bitch about it all season. He acts as if the bears never even offered him anything, and the deal he was offered I felt was pretty fair, and could have been reworked down the line. I really have taken to disliking Briggsenhaus

Bears determined to complete unfinished business
kyyle23 replied to DrunkBomber's topic in Soldier Field
Well, thats one way to put it. -
I dont know if we will see Curry ever because he is basically a sprinter playing football, and all of his injuries have been leg related. How many times can the Bears continue to pay a guy who hasnt proved himself yet and lands on IR for the first two years of his career? Not very long in the NFL. I think his rope is as long as his stay of health(ie. if he stays healthy, he has a chance. If he gets injured again, He gawn!)
-
I dont want it to sound like I dont want Jones on the team. I think the tandem of Benson and Jones is really darn good. I just think its gonna be a headache and a distraction all throughout the year next year
-
I remember hearing this statement many times last year, and it looked alot like this: What happens if Jones gets hurt? He is older, has had nagging injuries every year with the bears. So what if he has been durable? The longer these guys play, the more likely they are to get hurt(of course there are exceptions to the rule). The thing is, we cannot predict whats going to happen, so the Bears are going to have to commit right now to their signed, young, high drafted running back over a journeyman running back who has had his greatest seasons as a bear. Its a tough decision, but it has been in the works for 2 years now. I think the Bears will be able to get their changeup running back through the draft or free agency, and the Bears will be able to maintain a 2 back mentality.
