  1. It was alot more than that. First off, he has had major injury problems. Knees, achilles, leg injuries. Second off, he never has liked playing within a system, he is a free-lancer. So he gets caught out of position alot. In washington they stopped playing him when he finally became healthy because he wouldnt practice well, wouldnt listen to coaches, so they just benched him and let him go to the Giants. He never really got an opportunity to make an impact with the Giants because of his achilles problem. Not worth the headache
  2. I think next year will go a long way towards determining what we have in Rex. If he makes the necassary adjustments in his game, I think he is gonna be a great player. Otherwise he will stay as he is, Hot/Cold, Good/Bad, streaky Rex.
  3. I know, If he hasnt learned in high school and college, what makes you think he is gonna pick it up in the NFL? Of course there are always rules to the exception. Jerry Azumah was converted from a RB to a CB with no experience, so it isnt out of the realm of possibility that Hester could start to "get it". But his technique has been god awful every time I have seen him out there. Good WRs just get him to turn the wrong way and its over. Either they make a big catch and take off, or he comes over the top trying to swat the ball, which will get called as PI most of the time. fixed that for you. It would have been interesting if they would have gotten Randle El, it probably would have pushed back Hesters development for a while. IIRC the Bears were pretty iffy with Hester returning kicks to start the season because he dropped a few in the pre-season, then when the season started he turned it up a notch. If Randle El had been there to start the season, who knows if Hester would have gotten a shot right away or if they would have made him wait.
  4. Thankfully for Brees it was his non-throwing arm, because it was a grotesque dislocation.
  5. Agreed, I think the Superbowl illustrated that. Nobody wants to gamble on his returns anymore because he is that good. Personally I would rather see Devin Hester commit to trying to be a WR before he commits to a CB, but from all accounts I have read it seems that Hester is deadset on becoming like his idol, critics be damned.
  6. Did anyone see Drew Brees elbow get dislocated yesterday? Yeah, thats why I dont mind Briggs and Urlacher skipping the pro bowl.
  7. Quote where I said that fundamental errors are ok and where I said Wilson is a helluva coach? Go ahead, find it. And then i will go ahead and quote where you blame Steve Spurrier for Rex Grossmans problems this year, and I will also quote where you think Wade Wilson isnt a good coach because he used to be a Minnesota player. Your blame connections are absolutely ridiculous. If you want to say Wilson sucks because Grossman didnt develop the small parts of his game, then fine. But you didnt. YOu made a bullshit connection with Minnesota and the Bears which holds no weight. Im sure that Wade Wilson has a secret check coming from Minnesota for holding Rex Grossman back, GMAFB. And by the way, what have I said that needs to be supported? You want me to find a journeyman who is a good coach? give me some time, this should be fun.
  8. So in your opinion the only coaches that are any good are coaches that werent journeyman and only played for the team they currently coach for. Like I said, poorly drawn conclusions. Based on conspiracy theories and bullshit The other day Boers and Bernstein were making fun of an email that basically said Rex was going to lose the Superbowl because he grew up a Colts fan and couldnt bear to beat his team. Sounds like a theory you would support
  9. A for Effort For as many times as he has been sacked in the past 4 years, he probably does need some insurance.
  10. Honestly I dont know why Houston would be giving up on Carr. If he had a team, he would be good. Plummer isnt getting number 1 money anywhere he goes though, I dont know why he would be anything but insurance for Carr. Kind of like Griese for Grossman
  11. pay who? Carr? I want no part of Plummer. That guy is a timebomb. He really hasnt been able to do anything with some pretty good teams around him in Denver
  12. Your conclusions are really poorly drawn. Honestly, you blame the silliest things sometimes. Where a guy played has nothing to do with where or how he coaches.
  13. Honestly I think that King is throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks. David Carr is not about to be traded anywhere for a second day pick. We can pick Rex apart all we want, but I dont think any one of us thought the Bears would be going to the Superbowl with Rex as the QB this year. Somehow nobody can give the guy a chance to develop and everyone wants to ship him out after one full year as QB. If we see the same things next year, and no improvement out of him at all, then we have a problem. But right now I think its just a bunch of knee jerk reactions and pissed off fans. And if David Carr somehow ends up getting traded to the Bearsm then i believe that Rex needs to be traded. Thats not competition-worthy, that is unseating the starter.
  14. Haha, you read Peter Kings shitty article the other day on what he would do with the Bears QBs, didnt you? What an awful assessment of anything. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writ...uper/index.html Peter Kings basic "idea" on what the Bears should do. Trade a second day pick for David Carr. Sign Jeff Garcia to a cheap deal. Sign Jake Plummer. Draft Troy Smith. Hmmm, Troy Smith. Short, great arm, has problems when pressured. Who does that sound like? Plummer? The same guy who got replaced by Jay Cutler? Jeff Garcia is great now. Last year he was washed up after a few awful seasons with Detroit and Cleveland. Now he is great again. David Carr cannot avoid the rush, right? Isnt that what everyone is mad at Rex about? And what happens to David Carr when he doesnt have Andre Johnson to throw to anymore? Its going to be a long offseason of ideas on how to replace the quarterback who had the second best season in Bears history, went 15-4, got to the Superbowl, and yet still had a "mediocre" season.
  15. Isnt Leonard Davis known as a huge underachiever and a general bust out of his draft position, whereas Steinbach is regarded as one of the better O-lineman out there? The bears need not go cheap at the OL position
  16. whoo boy, inadvertant fight. Not a big deal guys, just teasing the next great white rappers
  17. They all do. Every single one of the panel are known as the jerks in their respective cities. There is only one way to rid ourselves of them, and that is to ignore them. And frankly, that just doesnt happen
  18. There is a board dedicated to ripping this man, www.jaythejoke.com Some people around these parts dont like the constant reminder of Jays constant negativity and idiocy, so I try and keep it on jaythejoke where it is welcome. Have fun.
  19. Yeah, when I was 7 that sounded pretty good to me too. Then I grew up and realized that while it was still great to me, it really sucked.
  20. Im afraid if I bump it then there will be a turf war between you and Iwin4prep, and I dont think this website can handle any drive-bys.
  21. The only thing Salisbury ever saved was a picture of his own manhood. He is an awful morning guy, Rosenbloom gets him upset over little things, he rarely is in Chicago for his Chicago show. Its just another ESPN way to shove their analysts down our throats
  22. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writ...ents/index.html Don Banks is a douche' bag. Grade A.
