  1. Another concussion for Cutler? Looked like it.
  2. I don't think so. John Fox has always ran a 4-3 as a base. With Denver, they switched back to a 4-3 once he stepped in, but you'll see them go to multiple fronts every now and then.
  3. Horrid throw by Cutler. Yipee another INT for a TD! freak this team.
  4. Somehow it's only 14-7. We got completely outworked in the 1st half. Luckily the Vikings don't have any receivers or it would have been much worse.
  5. Well that could be game already. The Lovie Smith era could be coming to a close.
  6. I'd be surprised if Marinelli stayed after Lovie is gone. Those two are good friends. I don't see Marinelli wanting to work for anybody else in Chicago if it isn't Lovie. Tice on the other hand, I think you have to give him another year, though I certainly could see why someone would want him fired. I think more than anything, we learned that Mike Martz is a better OC than Tice is. With virtually the same offensive line as last year, he was still somehow able to get more out of the offense, in terms of productivity than Mike Tice, who has given way more help to line than Martz ever did while he was here, and is still worse. I always point out that the offense under Martz was pretty darn successful last year before Cutler went down, offensive line troubles and all, but he still wasn't the right guy for Cutler.
  7. I don't think he's going anywhere, but I've already made my mind up that I personally don't want him here. I think he's worn out his welcome, he's been here forever, and had a good run while his defense was in the prime of their careers. Well, now they're not, and because of bad drafting, nobody is good enough to step in and fill the shoes of some of these guys. Lovie is a bad talent evaluator, and a poor game manager. Case in point, starting Kelvin Hayden over DJ Moore. We all know why Moore hasn't played (The comments earlier in the year about Cutler, and then again opening his mouth a week later) but most people could just tell you after watching one football game that DJ Moore is a much better player than Kelvin Hayden. I don't like him, and never have, though you have to admit, he does teach his guys how to play his style of defense. They all go after the football, they all fly to the ball. It's great when you can get pressure from the front four, but is a disaster of a defense when you can't. The Bears haven't been doing that lately, and because of how bad Urlacher has gotten, they have been forced into playing more single high safety. It just seems to me that age is showing more now, than ever before. Guys don't look like they're as fast reacting as they used to be. They're always a step slow now. I say you cut ties with Lovie unless he get squeak out a playoff win, and get somebody else to run the ship. That's my opinion, but I'm pretty sure he's not going anywhere. He'll get to stay in classic Lovie fashion. He'll get the team into the playoffs and that'll be enough. Then they'll sign him to an extension that they'll regret after a year.
  8. Jeffery back in as the starter. I want two things to come out of this game today. 1- A Bears win 2- No injury to Alshon
  9. What do you guys think about McClellin as a 4-3 SLB? Not as your tradition coverage SLB, I'm talking about as a pass rusher ala Von Miller? I personally feel like he's an OLB in a 3-4 but Lovie isn't running the Cover 2 hardly at all anymore. Instead, he's gone to more single high safety looks, my guess is because they don't believe Urlacher can cover the deep middle anymore, which makes sense. I'm just thinking out loud here, but we've already seen McClellin standing up occasionally when he's in there, could he work out as a pass rushing LB in an altered 4-3 scheme? Maybe this would never happen for as long as Lovie Smith is the head coach, but if we had a coaching change to another 4-3 I think this could be a possibility. Thoughts?
  10. If they really wanted to do something smart, they'd disallow helmets. You think you'd see someone launching their heads into someone coming over the middle without a helmet? I think not. Helmets have always been used more as weapons anyways, and if you take away this important weapon, you'd probably find players taking more caution on some of the hits they deliver.
  11. If they're going to bring in another receiver, it should be Joe Anderson. He looked good in pre-season and I thought he should have been on the roster instead of Sanzenbacher. I'd say give him an opportunity. Jeffery should be back though, I'm assuming, if he was working out before the game last week, he'll be ready to play on Sunday. Now he needs to just stay on the field once he's there.
  12. I'd just love to see a few unorthodox formations every once in a while. Teams get caught off guard against unbalanced lines, the pistol formation, the T-Formation etc.. You don't have to have a speedy mobile quarterback like RGIII to run out of those sets either. You just can't run the option off of it. Teams like the Bills, Lions, and Chiefs use the pistol from time to time as a change of pace. You have to keep your opponents guessing at all times. If they don't know what you're going to do out of a certain set, you have the advantage. That's partly why I think running some of these plays would do some good to a team that constantly struggles to make plays offensively.
  13. MLB is and has been a position of need since before this season started. This injury just magnifies it even more. His body has clearly broken down, and it's not going to get any better. These players on defense are all older, and I think we are starting to see the natural decline defensively as the year goes on because of it.
  14. Watching the game yesterday was a blast to watch for offensive scheming. I'm talking about the Redskins. They run the absolute perfect play set for RGIII and his skills as a quarterback. Them and the 49'ers run some of the most creative packages out of all different kinds of formations, and defenses have a hard time stopping it. Then I look at the Bears and I see a walking piece of "Blah". It's like night and day.
  15. Standings have been updated. Bears move to 5th seed due to tiebreaker against Packers.
  16. And unfortunately, making the playoffs probably means Lovie keeps his job. With the talk about a contract earlier in the season, if he gets one, I will be irate.
  17. That made me laugh out loud. The run game was a bust. Forte is not good between the tackles, and it showed tonight. He's actually a better pass catcher than he is a runner for his position, yet he's been completely ignored in that area all season. They did get him a TD today via the pass, but that's the only time I can recall him catching a pass as a receiver. Our screen game isn't very good either. Losing Lance Louis especially hurts in this area because of his athleticism to get out and block in space. The defense couldn't get off the field. Russell Wilson killed them with his legs on 3rd downs. Seemed like he was always picking up 1st downs. Idonije had one of his worst games. I don't know what the hell he was seeing out there today-- cutting inside on an obvious roll out situation that wound up being a crucial 3rd down pickup late in the game. He's so damn slow. Can't wait for someone else to take his place next year. I didn't think the play calling offensively was that bad today, to be honest. I liked it, for the most part. I thought Tice did a good job calling a safe gameplan with the offensive line, and getting him outside the pocket at times. I only wish he would start using Forte more as a receiver.
  18. They probably won't beat both Minnesota and Detroit twice, I have no faith in them to win a game against the Packers, which means a loss against the Arizona Cardinals could mean the difference between making or missing the playoffs. Either way I still believe this team isn't good enough to win a playoff game. Too one dimensional, and the defense is easy to exploit.
  19. Alright, I'm done with Lovie Smith. You can fire him now.
  20. Jennings out now. Pretty soon we won't have enough players to field a team.
  21. Their no huddle defense has always been atrocious.
  22. That's a nice play by Forte there. Finally get him involved in the passing game. TD Bears
  23. Bears dominated that half offensively. Should have 17 points right now. Unfortunately the defense is sucking something awful because Russell Wilson can setup camp in the pocket. Once again the defensive line is getting very little pressure against this kid. Also, Matt Forte is either still hurt badly or he just sucks.
  24. There goes 7 points off the board thanks to a drop by Bennett. Case in point as to why Marshall is the only noteworthy receiver on this team.
