  1. Yeah this should be the breakout game for Forte if there was ever a time for the running game to break out. When the Bears can run the ball, look out NFL.
  2. The coaches sure act like they know, and they've seen him in practice every day this off-season. It's hard to fathom how this is even possible, given how bad our current starting LT is. It's gotten to the point now where the Bears aren't even dressing him for games anymore, and is already being replaced by a journeyman OT they picked up off the streets. How bad do you have to be if you can't even find yourself on the field because of Jamarcus Webb and Jonathon Scott?
  3. I can't think of anything interesting, going into this game tomorrow. Not one thing. This has boring written all over it, but it's about getting the W. The Jaguars might be the worst team we face all year.
  4. He's in the doghouse because Chris Williams is bad. I mean, lets call it like it is. The coaches obviously see something in Jonathon Scott to move him ahead of Williams as backup LT. As far as I'm concerned, Williams should have been cut before the season began. Complete, and utter failure of a 1st round pick.
  5. It was a slow start, but you asked if it was shaky. I think they are not similar things. There wasn't any point during the game when I thought, "Oh no, not this again.." Shaky to me would be turnovers, 3 and outs, sacks etc... We were able to move the ball in the 1st half some, even though we didn't have a touchdown.
  6. Jennings has been great this season. Definitely playing like a pro bowl corner thus far. Still have 3/4 of the season left to go though.
  7. The play calling was great to start the game. It was great throughout the entirety of the game. Sometimes its just how the game goes. We were moving the ball, but we kept getting pinned deep inside our own territory early in that game because the defense was allowing Dallas to move the ball down the field all day through the air, even though they ended up creating 5 key turnovers. You can't always create 85+ yard drives every series on offense. I can't remember very many 3 and outs.. They did a good job of sticking with it, not forcing things, and eventually they broke a couple of big ones in the 2nd half. Remember, Dallas came into the game as the #1 ranked defense in the NFL. They are a legit D. I'll give credit where credit is due-- Mike Tice called a terrific game last night. (I still don't like Hester in on goal line plays though, but that's another story).
  8. Nah, I thought they played well for where they started off the game, field position wise. They didn't force it down field, Tice finally called some slants and quick/rhythm passes to get Cutler going, they established the run, they sustained drives and converted on 3rd downs. You'd like to get points in the first half, but they stuck with it, and in the 2nd half, they exploded.
  9. Jay played great, with the exception of that one dumb turnover. He almost did everything I said he had to do, coming into the game. He completed 75% of his passes, he went with the short passing game and for the most part, the ball was out of his hand quickly, and he converted 7/12 3rd downs.. Still has to do a better job at protecting the football. His throws were great aside from his first pass of the game. He just can't hold the ball that long on the sack, fumble, by Ware.
  10. This is comical. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=juxZh5ha8hA There's a video of Cutler telling Webb "Good Job", but we all know that won't get talked about in the National Media..
  11. It wasn't a good game for him tonight, but I'm at least noticing him on gamedays now. I didn't like the pick either, but I'm willing to give him a fair shot to win me over. I'd give him a year and a half before you really can figure out what he's going to be.
  12. What a terrible reversal on the Marshall PI. He was clearly held before the ball was tipped. freakin bull shit.
  13. Wow! Cutler doesn't get rid of the ball and winds up fumbling, and a play later Briggs intercepts a Romo pass, thanks to Henry Melton's pressure! Unreal.
  14. Hester caught that right?? Looked like the ball didn't move. The Bears offense NEEDS this TD!
  15. Had the perfect opportunity to set the tone for the 2nd half with a nice stop before going into the locker room, but we can't stop a team's 2 minute offense. 10-7. Lucky pick 6 off a miss communication by the QB/WR. Offense not scoring but not turning the ball over, and sustaining drives. Not terrible, but not good enough. You can't finish a game without scoring a touchdown on offense. Bears need their "O" to get them some points in the 2nd half. Defense was doing fine until the final drive.
  16. What do ya know? Bears give up major yardage to end the half again.. Pathetic way to end the half. The Bears always seem to do this. Just pisses me off.
  17. Cutler needs to use Marshall and Jeffery's uncanny ability to run after the catch as a means for not having to throw the ball down field every play. It's okay to dump it down to your RB for a 5 yard gain every now and then. If that's all the defense is allowing you to do, keep going to it. Eventually, a big play will develop, and when you have the run game going, that also makes it a lot tougher for the defense to get blitz happy.
  18. Jay Cutler has to play great tonight. No excuses for him. He needs to come out and play the way he's capable of playing and not let the pressure get to him. I want to see him play smart; convert 3rd downs, complete a high percentage of his passes, and most importantly, no turnovers. If he does that, the Bears will win.
  19. If you guys have been following Cutler's career, you'll notice that he's had the same bad mechanics since Day 1 of his NFL career. Sometimes you can get away with it, ala Favre, but like Favre, sometimes this leads to alot of poor throws that wind up being intercepted. The year he was only sacked 11 times, he still managed to throw 18 picks.. He is what he is.
  20. I'm going to pick with my head here in this one and try to avoid picking with my heart. I do not like how the offense has played out here in the first three games, especially in the last two. Dallas has the league's best defense and two of the best corners you're ever going to find on one team. I don't like how it shapes up for the offense and Jay Cutler. I have a feeling there's going to be plenty of 3 and outs on Monday, and if our defense holds up it'll be a pretty low scoring game. Dallas is wildly inconsistent like us, so you never know which team you're going to get on offense. Romo could throw 4 picks or he could throw 4 TD's. I think he's going to play much better at home, but our defense is on a hot streak right now. We won't let them score easy. Unfortunately, I think Jay Cutler has another lousy performance on the road and a couple of turnovers to boot. I don't believe it will be a full fledged implosion like it was against GB, but I don't like the Bears chances at moving the ball in this matchup. I'm hoping I'm wrong about this, I've got to see Cutler prove it to me first, before I can really believe in this team. I want to see an inspired performance on Monday. I'll go Cowboys 15-6.
  21. Looks like he signed with the Redskins
  22. lmao, I saw the Marshall thing, but didn't really put the pieces together as to why Cutler ended up calling a timeout... Makes sense.
  23. We understand it, but Cutler still has to be able to rise above it, as difficult as I'm sure it is to accomplish, that's what has to happen. But it's not anything new that hasn't been done before by others. I just don't want to act like Cutler is the only quarterback in the league that has to overcome bad offensive line play, because it's not true.. and yesterday's game is a perfect example of how to deal with it when it happens. Rodgers didn't do anything special yesterday that would have been over and beyond what Cutler is capable of doing. When things went bad Rodgers went to his checkdowns on almost every pass and took what the defense gave him, instead of forcing it down field. Give the Packers a lot of credit in the 2nd half for going to the run game early and often, and picking spots to fit in a little play action/short passing game. That's the part where Mike Tice has to help his quarterback out. So there's a lot of blame to go around, but it ultimately falls on Cutler to not have the defeatist attitude that shows itself in bad moments far too often in big time games. I think it's perfectly fair to say he HAS to be better.
  24. Man it's crazy how some of you guys make so many excuses for Cutler.. It's baffling. It's not the fact that Rodgers does better without the pressure, obviously it's easier to perform under those circumstances when you're not getting sacked. If you want to act like that's the point I'm making, then I can't do anything for you.. The point that I am making however, is that when Rodgers was sacked 8 times in a half, in a primetime game, in the loudest outdoor stadium in pro football, he not only was able to remain accurate, but he was also able to stay away from turnovers and keep his team in the game. You guys know as well as I do, if Cutler was sacked 8 times in a half, he'd probably have a handful of turnovers and would have mentally checked out of the game, like he did on Thursday. And this isn't just about Aaron Rodgers. I don't want to make it seem like Cutler is on the same level as Rodgers as a passer, because he's not. But this should serve as an example of what can happen if you keep your head in the game. The only reason I'm pointing him out is because of what transpired in tonight's game. Eli Manning does the same thing all the time. Greenbay could have very easily imploded, and to Rodger's credit they didn't. I just don't know when the excuses will stop. Do the Bears need to get a probowl left tackle that suits Cutler as well? How bout an entire cast of pro bowl offensive lineman? Why don't we just replace all our guys with 5 new All pro players? It gets to the point when enough is enough. It's put up or shut up. We got you a new #1 receiver you played with in Denver, not to mention another Probowler in the making in Alshon Jeffery.. We got him a coordinator that gives him free reigns of the offense and a quarterback's coach that he had before in Denver. What more do the Bears have to do before we can criticize Cutler for his poor play? Believe it or not, both Roethlisberger and Rodgers have been sacked more often than Jay has since he became a Bear, and both guys have won Superbowls. It is possible to win a Championship without an All-Pro cast of offensive lineman. A great quarterback is able to overcome it. He's got the weapons to get the job done right now. It's time for him to meet the challenge.
