  1. No puking, just a lot of cussing and "you've got to be kidding me's"...
  2. I don't have the luxury of the new technology where you can buy actual footage that the coaches use, so I can't point out specific plays. But just going off from what I saw with my own eyes and also from various members of Bears media, Williams just hasn't stepped up to the challenge. The LT position was really won by default. Webb was inconsistent, and Williams was more inconsistent. I don't know if you are familiar with the site "ChicagoFootballTalk.com", but there are some excellent videos on that site, filled with plenty of information on everything regarding the Bears and the players. "Your Boy Roy" makes the case that Williams did nothing in pre-season to warrant a starting position and gets into the specifics on the reasons why. I use the information I hear from him, and then of course your Zach Zaidman's of the world, along with my own eyes to formulate an opinion on this matter.... He (Webb) did have a great game today I thought, for what that's worth.
  3. That back shoulder pass Cutler threw to Marshall was a thing of beauty. Those two have legit chemistry together it's no wonder why he was targeted 15 times today and why they lead the league in that category during their time in Denver.
  4. Whenever the Bears go into prevent mode, something bad always happens. Probably should start playing the regular defense now. And a pass rush would be nice.
  5. Little easier to protect the pocket when Freeny is on the sidelines huh? O-Line looks a lot better now, thank the Lord.
  6. E-Rod with a couple of really nice blocks to spring Forte.
  7. Maybe we severely overrated this team. This is the worst possible start an offense can have. What the hell was Cutler thinking throwing that?
  8. Williams most certainly did NOT outplay Webb, if you were watching the games in Pre-Season. That's not to say Webb played well, he just didn't suck nearly as bad as Chris Williams did. He was an atrocity out there.
  9. This is a big deal. I can't believe Tice just now came out and talked about it. This injury has been ongoing since week 2 of last season when it was initially thought to be an injury that may keep him out a few months and it's now lingered through this season. Not good. The last thing you want to do is to be switching lineman in and out during a regular season game.
  10. I'm thinking Bears 27-17. Close up until the final quarter and a half. Offense starts slow, defense creates a turnover and then we score two TD's in the 2nd half to pull away.

    Winslow cut

I'm not disputing that, because I agree 100%. I think the Bears have big plans for Rodriguez that we'll get to see as the season unfolds, but if it's strictly who would you rather have-- K Davis or Winslow? I'll take Winslow. I at least know what I'm going to get out of him. The man caught 75 passes last year, he's had a 1000 yard season before; he's no scrub. He does what Kellen Davis is supposed to do, better. The only reason why you wouldn't give him an opportunity if you're the Bears is because you think his personality and questionable antics in the locker room is too much of a risk on this team. Very possible.. I still think they believe Kellen Davis is going to give them something this year, otherwise he would've been cut for being a no-show all pre-season.

    Winslow cut

If Kellen Davis is going to continue to be non-existent in the passing game all year, give me Kellen Winslow. We know Davis isn't going to give us anything in regards to blocking, but he's supposed to have physical advantages that you can exploit on defenses on passing downs that should help your offense stretch the field and he has failed to look like he's any part of that in the pre-season. My hopes for him have fallen way down from what I initially thought coming into this season.
  13. I think this game is going to be a lot tougher than some may realize. This Andrew Luck is the real damn deal. I see greatness in his future. Luckily for us, we are living in the present and I don't think that Colts team has enough on either end to compete with this Bears team at the end of the day. As long as Luck doesn't have a "Rookie Matt Ryan" performance against us, where he is just out of this world, the Bears should be alright.
  14. Good to have him back. Hope he's healthy. Funny how Melton was just talking the other day about playing more snaps this year w no Okoye.. Now he's back with us, haha.
  15. Drafting players who have suffered through a serious and or multiple injuries at the high school and collegiate level is always a red flag when it comes to the draft. If a guy can't stay healthy, that's normally not going to change once he gets to the NFL. In Hardin's case, he's had to deal with it since high school. I mean you talk about a broken shoulder, a broken hand, and a broken finger all while playing at OSU.. Some guys are just more prone to get injured than others no matter what the case may be. That's what I mean by saying that's what you get sometimes. You took the risk, thinking he'd put his injury history behind, and got burned. It happens. It's just that it's happened so many times here in Chicago over the last several years that it starts to get ridiculous.
  16. Unfortunate news for him, but this is what you get sometimes when drafting college players that have been through a serious injury. I was not too fond of this pick either. Last thing we need is more guys that can't stay on the field from the safety position. Get back and get healthy for next year Mr. Hardin. Also, learn how to tackle properly
  17. If Williams can't win a starting job at either position on the line, what purpose does he serve on this roster other than just being another body? He's been a huge disappointment this off-season. He won't get cut, but he is quickly playing his way off the team if his play continues to be like this.
  18. I'd like to see the Bears work Rodriguez in with the first unit some in this pre-season. He should be a guy that you can line up opposite of Davis to exploit the middle of the field as a pass catcher ala Aaron Hernandez, but he hasn't been in there from what I've seen early in these games. I'm somewhat surprised we haven't seen that yet.
  19. The whole problem with the McClellin pick to begin with was that he'd be a project. He's built like more of an OLB than he is a DE, and that's the way he's played like to me thus far in the pre-season games. Even his one sack came from when he basically stood straight up at the snap, took a step back, and then went after the quarterback like what you see from a LB. I'm not saying he doesn't have the skills to be a pretty good pass rusher, I'm saying that I'm worried that his physical limitations are going to be a major problem for him in the early going of his career. As the 19th overall pick in the draft, you'd certainly like to get a guy that's not going to take a couple of years to develop.
  20. Starting to worry a little more about McClellin. Looks a lot more to me like a LB than a DE. Gets pushed around way too easily when he's in the game. These last two pre-season games haven't been too kind for him with the starting unit.
  21. Not a very good game thus far. No pressure on Manning what so ever, Cutler looks iffy with his accuracy, we can't run the football, and Nick Roach can't tackle.. EDIT: And there goes Chris Williams blowing another block on a DE.
  22. I liked Bell. Think he's better than both Allen and Booker and would rather have him as a 3rd back.
  23. I thought Webb played well in the 2nd game. Williams struggled against backups last week and needed a lot of help while he was in there. I think Webb wins the LT battle by default although It remains to be seen what he's got in store for tomorrow. That blows about JPP. Was looking forward to seeing this line tested more by the best D-Line in the NFL. Really just looking for more of the same from last week from that first team offense. We should get a pretty good taste as to how this team could look as we move forward. Starters will probably play 2 and a half-3 quarters and should see a little more than just a vanilla style on both sides of the ball. Hoping that Alshon can have himself another good game out there, as well as Brandon Marshall. This is the first time in a long time that I can remember a Bears offense that features a high powered passing game. Lots of talk about Jeffery proving himself to be a starting WR, but Hester is still likely to remain the #2 for now.
  24. I like what Summer's shows out there but he's had a pretty awful game with a few drops and now a fumble. Practice squad material? Bears better not blow this.
