  1. Pretty shitty day for the Bears. MIN and WAS both won. Bears can't even win next week and get out of the basement of the NFC. Frustrating.
  2. The Bengals game has officially become a "you better win this" type of game after seeing how atrocious they've been the past two weeks. They look like a team dead in the water, and they know it now.
  3. The Commanders game is an important one, because a win gives the team some legitimacy as a playoff threat. It's good that they beat the Raiders, but the Raiders stink. They should beat bad teams, even on the road. I want to see them finally beat a quality opponent in a game that matters for both teams, otherwise the idea of a culture shift rings pretty hollow for me.
  4. Can we trade for a RB before the next game? I'll take Devon Achane if MIA looks to blow things up in the near future. They have to do something at that position. This group isn't going to work.
  5. Look at Drake Maye's schedule. God would I kill for Caleb to have that. Almost entirely full of bad teams/and or teams with awful defenses.
  6. Would be a fitting end to this game. Going to be another drive where the defense gives up points immediately after the Bears score.
  7. What's crazier is those are his numbers while facing a non-existent pass rush.
  8. Caleb's completion % is going to be sub 60% after today. Just completely unacceptable in the modern era.
  9. Kmet and Swift are having the worst games of their careers in the same game.
  10. Of course this would be the game Jeanty has 3 touchdowns. And, of course, the defense allows a touchdown immediately after the Bears offense finally woke up. I hate this team so much. They have problems everywhere.
  11. Caleb's accuracy is inexcusably erratic. He had a clean pocket and delivered a high ball to Rome that would have moved the sticks. This team just continues to find ways to shoot themselves in the foot.
  12. This is one of the worst called games I think I've ever seen. 3 takeaways by the defense and only 6 points to show for it when they've had unbelievable field position the entire game. This is embarrassing. Ben Johnson better get his shit together and stop forcing the run.
  13. Looks like it's going to be one of those games. As soon as they didn't score touchdowns after those two gift wrapped takeaways by the defense, you knew they were in for trouble.
  14. Loveland has a lot of work to do when he comes back. Tyler Warren has been really good right away. Loveland has been invisible, and now hurt. Not a good look for him.
  15. I feel about as good with this one as I did with last week. The offense has been trending in the right direction for 3 weeks in a row. The only real thing that's held them back has been those drive-ending penalties. If they can avoid those on Sunday, I think they can put up a lot of points again. Everyone in this division is annoyingly 2-1 again except for the Bears.. If they want to keep pace, they can't give these games away against mediocre competition. At some point, they are going to have to win a couple against playoff-caliber teams to have a realistic shot at the playoffs, but we'll worry about that in a couple weeks.
  16. Bears are now 11th in yards and 9th in ppg (25.3) on offense, btw.
  17. ESPN has him at 67.2 QBR on the season now. It's only been 3 games, but he's clearly been the best QB of his class to start the season. I still don't think Drake Maye is any good. He's benefited from a cakewalk schedule against soft defenses in these first few games, yet New England is still 1-2 with Caleb out performing him.
  18. Don't look now, but Caleb Williams is tied for the league lead in passing touchdowns (7). Bears caught a much needed break with the Lamb injury, but the offense did exactly what they were supposed to do against a bad defense. Feels good to finally get this one off their backs—especially against Eberflus. Luther Burden looks like the real deal. Rome has to knock it off with the drops, though. Way too many, despite his 4 touchdowns.
  19. Bears are going to win this game, because they have to. I like the way the offense is trending. Through the first 2 weeks, they are 2nd in the NFL in explosive plays. Penalties are holding them back. Everything is setting itself up well for a breakout performance against an atrocious DAL defense, and I think they will.
  20. Funny, because Kaleb Johnson was the one guy I absolutely did not want from the RB position. He was a product of a great OL, and that was clear to me after watching a few minutes of his highlights. The majority of his best runs were him not getting touched at all, or at least not until he reached the second level. I thought he looked slow and lacked the lateral agility necessary to be anything more than a complimentary back in the NFL. Steelers look like they've already given up on him.
  21. Super small sample size, but more numbers continue to show he's getting better. They scored 17 points against MIN (taking away the pick 6) and 21 against the Lions. They had 317 total yards against MIN, and 339 against the Lions. Penalties continue to kill this team, but if they can ever clean that up, there are signs of hope with this offense. Next week will be a big test. DAL's defense is horrible. If the Bears don't put up big numbers against them, It will be concerning. If they do, it will give some validity to the idea that they are improving.
  22. Watching ATL handle MIN with such ease tonight makes last week's loss even more embarrassing. McCarthy stinks. ATL got pressure on him all game and ran the hell out of the ball. Penix didn't even play well, and they still won on the road.
  23. Poles is the worst GM of my lifetime—or at least since I became cognizant of what I was watching as a kid around the early 2000's. I know a lot of people would say Phil Emery, but Emery at least gave us 3 pro-bowl players in the draft (Long, Fuller, Jeffery). Two of them became All-Pro's. He also traded for Brandon Marshall and broke the cycle of WR futility. His misses were catastrophically bad, but he didn't have as much time as Poles did to do as much damage to the franchise. He also didn't ruin a quarterback. Poles has quite literally been bad at everything, from drafting to public speaking. His free agent signings are almost always terrible. His trades are even worse. Hasn't drafted a single pro-bowler in 4 years on the job. 0 playoff appearances. 2 double digit losing streaks.
  24. I get the general cynicism, but the timing of this statement is strange considering the QB was the least of their problems today. He's honestly been fine through 2 games. I am seeing incremental progress. First game looked rough until I saw Kurt Warner's breakdown. This week, I think he improved until the game got away from them.
