  1. This certainly won't help the offense become more balanced when they are getting ass raped by the Packers offense. The idea was to keep the game close and hope Forte gets going as the game goes on. Tough to do that now down 14.
  2. This is going to end up like the New England game last year.. Just so bad.
  3. This is the worst offense in the NFL. We are lucky to just get it to the other side of the field. We can't run block apparently and we certainly can't pass block.. Combine that with a terrible start by our quarterback and you're in for a long day.. Need a turnover on defense to get into this game.
  4. Yeah he's got to throw it more towards the sideline and it was an easy 30 yard completion. Got to be accurate with the football in this offense.
  5. Cutler looks like trash. Easy throw that gets picked off. God this team just pisses me off so much.
  6. This is going to be an incredibly long day.. We are getting shredded already.
  7. Barber out again.. Williams and Harris are playing. Also sounds like Carimi will be playing next week. Going to have to survive with Omifail this week, which means running it down GB's throat 25 plus times and put Cutler in good passing situations.
  8. No it does because the league has changed alot since 1999. Mike Martz runs an old and outdated passing system that was long ago schemed against by NFL defenses. Martz runs a variation of the old Air Coryel passing offenses from the 70s and 80s that revolutionized the passing game. Seven step drops, deep patterns put tons of pressure on defenses and made Coryel one of the greatest offensive minds in football history. His innovation was original and highly successful, just like Buddy Ryan's 46 defense. Why was Buddy Ryan's 46 defense so successful? Because Ryan brought exotic blitzes and all sorts of pressure from different angles to attack the Coryel style of passing. It was always a race to get to the QB and a lot of times defenders would get to the QB before he finished his pass drop. The seven step drop, is what Ryan attacked and Martz still uses today even though pass rushers in today's NFL have developed to the point that they can get pressure on the QB before he can set his feet to throw. There are other offenses out there that don't require 7 step drops and don't require your quarterback to get blasted week in and week out. Martz's scheme is not as revolutionary as it was more than a decade ago, and the Rams were special because of their HOF talent.
  9. Martz is living in the past with this offense. We don't have Tory Holt, Isac Bruce, Kurt Warner, or Marshall Faulk. As good as Forte is, he's not even close to what Faulk was in his prime. And Warner was one of the most accurate quarterbacks in NFL history. In 1999, it was a much different game than it is now. You have to have the right personnel to run his offense and we don't have the offensive line for it, nor do we have the WR's.
  10. I believe it. Though I don't actually think Lovie would ever fire his offensive coordinator in season. As I've said, depending on how the Bears season goes, the fate of Mike Martz rests in whether or not we make the playoffs in all likelihood. I've never been a fans of his, I think his scheme is severely outdated and it has a history of getting quarterbacks killed. The Bears are built for Cutler roll outs and 3 step drops.
  11. I liked how Aikman stood up for Cutler and said "Well Joe, that's exactly where I'd be standing too." Honestly, if you are getting blasted as many times as Cutler, would you really be standing over there with a big smile on your face all giddy, ready to go in on the next offensive possession? Fox has an agenda on Cutler to constantly bring up his body language and it's getting on my nerves.

    Gabe Carimi

The sad thing is Gabe Carimi playing with a partial dislocated knee is still better than Frank Omiyale at 100%... Hope he comes back real soon and we start running the ball alot more.
  13. Jay Cutler better be ready to learn a new playbook very soon. Martz is either going to get fired at season's end (depending on how the Bears do) or he'll walk away and or get hired somewhere else.

    Gabe Carimi

The Bears board is saying 2-4 weeks. No structural damage to the knee cap, just dislocated. If its two weeks, we can get by, but if he's going to miss the next 4 games, I don't give the Bears or Jay Cutler much of a chance to do anything on offense. The defense is going to have to win us some games now because Omiyale is thee absolute worst tackle in professional football. I have no idea as to how he is even on an NFL roster but we are talking about the same crew that thought Todd Collins was the Bears second best quarterback last season.
  15. Oh I know. You don't have to tell me that. My point is, the Bears lack of pass protection eventually caught up to them because of Martz's inability to call a more balanced offensive game. If we run the ball 20-25 times, Cutler doesn't get sacked as much. Simple as that.

    Gabe Carimi

We are done if Frank Omiyale has to start more than 4 games this year. That's a fact.
  17. Cutler didn't get sacked once until around the 11 min mark in the 3rd quarter. What that tells me is we passed so much that everything caught up to us. Offensive lineman would rather run block if you gave them the two choices because it's easier to do. Martz failed hardcore to get the running game going. This reminds me so much of how we played early in the season last year. It wasn't until like week 7 that Martz started to figure it out and dialed down the passing game to let the running game catch up which kept opponents guessing. When we become unbalanced we just leave ourselves wide open to the assault that inevitably will come.
  18. The FO is wasting Cutler's talent and possibly ruining his career. If the O line doesn't get fixed real soon, Cutler may become Mark Bulger after he continuously got hit during his tenure with Mike Martz. He was never the same.
  19. If we didn't have Roy Williams I would have said go get Terrell Owens. I don't care what people say, the guy is still in perfect physical shape and is still one of the better route runners in this league. I'm almost tempted to say we still should sign him but Dallas already tried this experiment a few seasons ago when Owens was a couple years younger and it didn't work out.. And then there is Randy Moss. I think Owens is the better player between the two at this point but is there anybody out there that would take a flier on Randy Moss if he decided to un-retire? I'm not saying I would, just throwing that question out there so we can talk about something other than our garbage offensive line and our lack of really good WR's. It definitely doesn't help that we run Martz's offense because there is always the question of "How long is it going to take a new WR to learn the playbook?" I'm about 99% sure that we won't be signing any additional FA's this year at WR but it is so painful having to watch Knox and Hester fail time and time again. Knox is at best a #4 receiver on a good team. He's not durable or reliable enough to play the #3 slot position and he's not good enough to be out there on the outside starting unless there is an All Pro lining up next to him as the #1.
  20. John Gruden would be a good offensive coordinator here if we fired Martz. This team is built for a West Coast style offense where we use the short passing game to our advantage with our RB's and WR's and can go deep off of play action.
  21. This goes back to not being able to audible out of Mike Martz's offense. It's pointless and makes no sense. Every Quarterback should have total control of the offense when he's on the field, otherwise you are making it even harder on him than it needs to be.
  22. Major Wright is a major disappointment. We will be better with Chris Harris and Merriweather out there as the starting safeties. It's unnacepatable for the Safeties to allow that 79 yard TD pass to Henderson. You know the only route that guy runs is deep so why are you letting him get behind you? Dumb play there. If it wasn't for Forte, we wouldn't have even gotten 100 yards of offense. He is and always has been the focal point of our offense. It's time for these Cowboys to start sucking it up a bit and get on the field. We need Williams and Barber to play in these games. They are capable of making a big difference. There is nothing the Bears can do with this offensive line. They are stuck with what they have thanks to the awesome job our garbage general manager has done with it in the last 2 years. Now, common sense tells you if you are an offensive play caller, to run the ball more and call for shorter quicker routes on offense. Of course, nothing is ever logical with Mike Martz. This offense still doesn't have the weapons to run his Rams offense because we don't have an All Pro offensive line and we don't come close to having an Isac Bruce or a Tory Holt on this team. I think if we had stuck with the run more we could have stayed on the field a little longer which would have kept the Saints offense off the field. Next week is a must win. GB and Detroit are already off to a great start. The Bears can't afford to go down 1-2.
  23. Name me an offensive lineman that is worse that OMG and Jamarcus Webb.
