I'm not so sure that Okoye shouldn't be the starter over Anthony Adams. I guess the extra size is nice but I really like the potential of Okoye and Melton inside.
-
Enderle takes forever and a day to make a decision. And god is he slow.
-
Chester needs to be cut. Khalil Bell looks pretty good so far as well. I'd take him as our 3rd back over Chester. Barber is for sure going to be #2.
-
Yep. This line is still trash. 3 sacks already for Shawne Merriman.
-
Webb with a hold already.
-
Some guys I'm really interested in watching, Obviously Roy Williams, Vernon Gholston, Okoye, Melton, J.T Thomas, and Carimi.
-
Disappointed to hear Gholston hasn't looked all that great in camp so far. He's going to really have to have a great preseason to make the team I guess.
-
Pompei needs to shave that god awful facial hair. If there was ever a person that has a face that doesn't match his facial hair, it's him.
-
I think he's just more cut than he used to be. And he's probably keeping in mind how much he had to run for his life last year so the weight loss would help him move around a little better.
-
Usually the 1st preseason game is a short session for the starters; maybe 2 or 3 series. The 2nd game they might play the entire first quarter, into the 2nd, and the 3rd preseason game is usually the "Dress Rehearsal" where we would actually game plan for the team we are facing and keep the starters in until the middle/end of the 3rd quarter. The 4th game is almost always the worst one because most of the starters don't play and it's essentially a game for all the 2nd and 3rd stringers to make the team.

I'm pretty meh on the Bears offseason. As long as Carimi doesn't end up being Chris Williams part 2 we came out okay. I'm pretty disapointed that we didn't look more towards offensive line in Free Agency. I really like the additions of Barber, Okoye, and Gholston. Barber becomes our goaline back, Okoye will get in their for stretches to rush the quarterback, and so will Gholston, providing he pans out better than he did in New York. Roy Williams is an X-Factor for this offense. He can either be really bad or really good for us. I'm hoping we get the Roy Williams from Detroit and not the one from Dallas. With Barber being our goaline back, Williams is probably going to be our redzone target through the passing game. Draft Grade: C- Free Agency Grade: B- (Could end up being better depending on how they play) Overall Grade: C

I think Henry Melton is going to end up being a Pro Bowl player. He was playing very well for us late last season. I think he could end up with 7 or 8 sacks this year from the DT position.

You know what bugs me? When people create a false reality to a situation that doesn't exist. I like how you added the "Expert" line in response to my previous post when my comment had nothing to do with me acting like an expert. In fact, I don't even see where a comment like mine would even warrant such a response. I mean we did, after all have the worst offensive line in the league last year right? So in light of losing Kreutz and replacing him with Roberto Garza, who's not even a real center, the only thing the Bears have even done to this line is draft an unproven rookie who's been switched to RT and we decided to move last year's 7th round pick, Jamarcus Webb to the most difficult position on the offensive line after struggling mightily last year at RT. That can't instill much confidence, given our performance last year. What's the point in even having a message board at all if nobody here is employed by the Bears? I mean, you are asking for experts right? Why should I believe anything you say if you aren't an expert?
-
I find it funny how we may be going into this season with a worse offensive line than we had last year. How is that even possible?
-
So we spent money on Chris Spencer to be a backup to a terribly pathetic Roberto Garza who's not even a real center? Are you freaking kidding me?!

If they were smart, the starting WR's would be Roy Williams and Knox with Earl Bennett as your slot receiver. Seems like the most logical thing to do imo. But knowing the Bears it'll probably be some freak up lineup of Williams and Hester with Knox as the 4th or 5 receiver. I'm not a big fan of Knox after witnessing so many dropped balls last year and his inability to hold onto the football, but it's pretty obvious to me he should be among the first 3 WR on our team. Earl has the best hands on the team, he should play the slot in a Wes Welker type role, whereas Knox is your speed threat opposite of Roy Williams and Hester can come in if he has to as a 4th or 5th receiver. Idk why the Bears are so hell bent on making Hester into an All Pro receiver, he doesn't have the hands for it.
-
Seems mind boggling to me that you wouldn't make the best player to ever return kicks your primary kickoff returner. Knox is a WR and Hester is your returner. I sure hope Hester isn't expected to start over Knox this year. Quite frankly I wish they would just give up on Hester as a receiver unless it's in spots.

It saddens me to think that the end of Urlacher's career is nearing.
-
My guess is he ends up with 50-60. Martz's offense doesn't really single out any one person as a WR, he spreads the wealth all over and Roy isn't as good as he was with Detroit. I still think that his signing will help us though. Especially in the redzone.

Randy Moss is without a doubt my favorite WR of all time. Of course, I was a little too young to see Jerry Rice play in his hay day but Moss was one of the most uniquely talented athletes you will ever see at his position. His ability to out jump a defensive back and come down with the ball was uncanny. The play that always sticks out to me was the one where he tipped the ball to himself and came down with it in the endzone. And his signature move of course is where he throws his hand up in the air as he runs by his defender with ease. More times than not, that spelled doom for opposing corner backs when they saw that hand go up. I used to go outside and practice Randy Moss catches when I was a younger kid. It was called "The Amazing Catch" game that me and my friends played where you had to catch the ball with one hand or win a jump ball while it was in the air. I could care less how he was as a person. Everybody is different. All I know is the guy could play and is a surefire Hall of Famer.
-
Yeah I was going to say. He's a MLB.
-
I'm not sure. Im still trying to find out about it. Supposedly it was on the Bears board earlier but I couldn't find which threat it was in. All I heard was what I said. Urlacher I guess wasn't very happy with Angelo about not resigning Kreutz, Lovie was involved in a discussion with him as well and it apparently wasn't the most friendly of conversations.
-
Even though his play dramatically slipped over the last few years, I can't believe Angelo didn't resign him. His importance to the team goes beyond his play at center. He was the unquestioned leader of the team on the field and in the locker room. He will be missed.
-
Has anybody heard anything about Urlacher and Lovie having a heated discussion with Angelo today about Kreutz?
-
This is actually awesome! Totally unexpected. I love this move. We need a guy that can get in there and bruise it up a bit.
