  1. That's what it looks like, based on what I have researched. Different degrees of a sprain, I guess we don't know technically what Cutler's was yet.
  2. Why do we need another thread about the same thing? I'm over and done with this already, sick of talking about it. Everyone will have there own opinions with neither side being right or wrong. Jay is the only one who truly knows if he could have played or not, what people are bashing him for is the mentality that he brings upon himself where it looked like he didn't care. Whether that's the right or wrong way to approach it is a different discussion in itself.
  3. Meh... I really don't know what to think to be honest. Lovie just said it was an MCL Sprain...
  4. I'm a bigger fan of the 3-4 scheme than I am the 4-3 because I think it's alot tougher to prepare for and allows for more creativity. With that being said, Lovie is not going to fire Maraneli and even if he did he wouldn't go after a guy that doesn't run his queer ass Cover 2 scheme. Mankins is a must and when you pair him with a 1st round offensive lineman that hopefully isn't Chris Williams we get a ton better up front. Vincent Jackson would be that #1 guy we need and is a big target that could thrive off Cutler's arm. I'm on the Asomugha bandwagon because I don't want to see Tim Jennings back there next year but I'd hope we can get atleast 2 of the 3, not likely though.. If we can't get Jackson I'd probably take my chances on T.O. He atleast gives you the threat of someone that can take over a game. He keeps himself in good shape too so age isn't really a concern and I'm sure it would only be a 1 or 2 year contract.
  5. Yep. Pittsburgh will pick off Rodgers a few times and be playing from ahead the entire game. Then they'll just run it down GB's throat to win yet another Superbowl..
  6. I will never root for the Packers. Too bad both teams cant lose, I hate em both.
  7. Regardless of what everyone thinks about the Cutler situation, if he ends up having a torn ACL (Which I doubt) but you never know, he'll miss atleast 3/4 of the season next year. What the hell would we do then?
  8. I'm not the biggest Martz supporter but it would be good for Jay to have some stability with a system for the rest of his career. If we improve our offensive line we are off to a great start.
  9. The defense gets a year older and that has been the staple of our team for the last half decade so you worry about if they can keep it up. We need to start finding some young guys like the Packers have in Tramon Williams and Shields. Believe me, Tim Jennings is not your answer at corner back and Idonije is not it as a DE although statistically he had the best year of his career. Hopefully guys like DJ Moore and Henry Melton become Pro Bowlers next year or we can find another diamond in the rough in this years draft. If none of this happens, the Bears window is slowly closing. FA this year and next year will play a big part in how much longer this Bears team has a shot at winning a Superbowl.
  10. I would take a dead Jay Cutler over Todd Collins any day of the week and in most cases, Caleb Haine. Luckily Caleb came in and played his heart out and shocked alot of people, but we will never know what would have happened if Jay had played the whole game. I would have atleast taken my chances though. You live and die by Cutler. I don't care if you had to adjust the gameplan and run the ball more, I want Jay Cutler in the game if he's alive.
  11. What does losing the game have anything to do with it? Rivers played on a god damn torn ACL. That's being a tough SOB. Donovan McNabb played through the 4th quarter on a broken leg a few years back, hell Byron Leftwich had to be carried back to the huddle in a meaningless college football game and played on a broken leg. We all know about Brett Favre. The point being, this is the biggest game of the guys career and he did not want to continue playing.
  12. Doesn't matter what the injury was, Bears fans will have a hard time forgiving him for quitting. Even if the doctors said no, Cutler, if he really wanted to, he could go back in. I'm not letting a decision like that be dictated by a Doctor. If I'm a gamer, I play.
  13. So the season is over for us now, onto the offseason already. Aside from the obvious (Drafting offensive lineman) what else do you think the Bears need to improve the offense and defense for next season? Two things for me. One, a true #1 receiver-- easier said then done, but without one you can never be a truly consistent offense throwing the football. As far as I'm concerned, Earl Bennett is really the only one I somewhat trust at catching the ball. Secondly, there's a free agent out there that will be demanding a ton of money and goes by the name of Andy Asumugha (sp!!). You know, the guy from Oakland. I don't know where the Bears are at financially like I do with the NBA but if they have the money you have to sign this guy. I know there are people that will disagree because our defense doesn't suit to Asumugha's strengths but when you have the opportunity to add another game changer to your defense, you do it! Peppers might have one or two pro bowl seasons left in him, adding a shut down corner would make this defense that much better. Thirdly, I want the Bears to find a sleeper at RB later in the draft, someone with pure speed and shiftiness. Chester Taylor is not the answer as your backup RB, too similar to Forte. The Bears need to get back to that dual RB system that they had late in 06 with Jones and Benson. There are alot of areas we could look to this offseason. The defensive tackle position is another one that needs upgraded. The only way this defense works well is if you have a dominator inside to get pressure on the quarterback. The one thing the Quarterback hates the most is when he's getting pressured in the middle. It will be interesting to see how this offseason unfolds.
  14. Cutler is dead to me now and I'm sure to most Bears fans. Guys like Roethlisberger and Favre would have been in the game if they had an arm missing, hell Phillip Rivers played a few years ago in the AFC Championship game with a torn ACL! I always thought Jay was a tough quarterback and I was somewhat surprised he didn't toughen it out in the biggest game of the career.
  15. I hate to nit pick but think about if Urlacher would have taken that INT to the house, and he should have. Idk why he ran into Rodgers, he's athletic enough to run by him..
  16. Great effort by Haine. Packers deserved it, hate to say it. Makes you wonder how much different this would have been if Cutler had not been a puss.
  17. Another poorly timed timeout by Smith. We had the first down! God damn it!
  18. Here comes the play of the game so far. Come on Caleb, you gotta get this first down!
  19. Wow, still not over yet! Come on D. If there was ever a time for a turnover it's NOW!!!!!
  20. Looking back, I wish the Bears would have incorporated a no huddle into their offense. Atleast it keeps the Packers from disguising their blitzes because they don't have the time to adjust.
  21. Gonna be another boring superbowl where the Steelers win yet again.. sigh..
