  1. Charles Woodson is 34 and still going strong. I don't see any reason why he can't keep playing at a high level. Especially considering his style of play. I guess only time will tell.
  2. As much as I think Kreutz was done as a valuable center a few years ago, we probably need to just get him resigned for this year. I don't see what our backup plan is and without him, we literally have nobody that can play center. I'd bring him back mainly because we would be missing his leadership qualities in the locker room and on the field.
  3. We will continue to evaluate all of our players each and every day and we'll go from there..
  4. This guy makes Clay Mathews arms look like pencils. I like the signing. It can't hurt. If he doesn't produce then you can be done with him. Although I do believe that RM can turn him around. He's better suited as a 4-3 DL anyways. That's what he played in college.
  5. He made more money last year. Quite frankly, I'm shocked. Again, I don't understand why the Bears didn't even contact this guy. Our secondary is weak as crap and we could have used someone that can shut his man down. Especially playing in a division that has two great receivers in Calvin Johnson and Greg Jennings.. Meanwhile, now that the Eagles get Nmadi and they just received Rodgers-Cromartie in the Kolb trade, it doesn't seem like they have much need for Asante Samuels anymore. Not to mention he's an excellent zone coverage corner. He'd be a great fit.
  6. Good signing! I would rather have Braylon I think but I figured Roy would be our guy knowing Martz coached him before. I've also heard that the Bears are still interested in Mike Sims Walker even with this agreement. Stay tuned.
  7. Yeah he's not that big-- only 5'11. Kind of reminds me of Earl Bennett. Has good hands, can make catches in traffic and has shown the ability to be a possession receiver after catching 107 passes a couple of years ago. I still think we need a more physical WR, someone taller. Given that Olsen is now gone I would like to think the Bears have their eyes on getting that WR to fill some of Olsen's pass catching void. I like Braylon Edwards if I had to choose between him or Roy Williams but my guess is we end up with Williams.
  8. Pretty bad considering Olsen was a 1st round pick himself and we only got a 3rd..
  9. And I'm sick and tired of letting our genius offensive coordinator dictate every thing when it comes to player personnel on offense. How do you not find room for a 6'5 TE that can catch the ball? We should know by now that he hasn't exactly been spot on when it comes to player personnel. All you have to do is look at the release of Manumaniuseless, the decision to keep Todd Collins in as our #2 when he clearly shouldn't have been allowed to set foot on an NFL field, and the initial reluctance to tone down the pass happy play calling that dug us a bit of a hole early in the season.
  10. He is still a weapon and a mismatch for most safeties and LB's. That's one less target Jay has to throw too in an already, below average offense.
  11. If that's it, then this trade is full of fail.
  12. This mystery player business is bugging me. I'm sure it's nobody that I would want or a player that's really expected to do anything. I can imagine the pick will be the more valuable asset we get in this trade.
  13. Well aside from trading for Steve Smith or Braylon Edwards, Roy Williams is probably the best receiver on the market that's left. Maybe the reconnection with the Martz offense can spark some improved play from when he played with Detroit.
  14. Unless that player is Jordan Gross, Jeff Otah, Jon Beason, or Steve Smith.... terrible deal.
  15. And this is why the Patriots are always an elite team. They know what the hell they are doing.. Wish I had the same confidence in this front office. Can't say that I do.
  16. Finally. A connection that actually makes sense.
  17. Omiyale won't be starting next year with Carimi. And if he does, then it doesn't say much for the player we drafted in the first round. Webb is bad but the upgrade we get from a guard like Nicks is a better one then if we signed Bushrod or Colon. if the Bears are serious about cleaning up their line play, they'll spill out the money to make that improvement. It's not as if they don't have the money. They have the 3rd most cap room out of all teams in football.
  18. WR is actually a huge need. Unless you enjoy watching Cutler run around trying to find receivers that can't separate from coverage, and can't catch the football. How many times last year did we witness Johnny Knox running the wrong route or dropping passes that have hit him right in the hands? Sometimes more than once in the same game! Devin Hester is certainly not a reliable receiver unless you put him in the position that he can actually succeed in which is the slot-- something Martz seems to never do. Bennett is our only all around average receiver on the team because of his hands, his blocking ability, and his smartness. If you are rating areas of needs, WR is either #1 or #2 and with the Bears cap room, they can afford to sign key players from both WR and OL positions.
  19. Or maybe there is a better player out there that isn't a tackle. His name is Carl Nicks and he's a guard. None of those guys are worth writing home about anyways. Marginal upgrades at best. Nicks would be a pretty substantial upgrade.
  20. For that price, why in the world did the Bears not try to get in on this?
  21. I would be very happy if we got Carl Nicks.
  22. So far, I don't think I've heard one name that's been connected with the Bears this FA that I can honestly say "Oh yeah, that makes sense." I've heard Brad Smith, Jason Babin, and then two tackles I've never heard of in Bushrod and Colon. What are we going to do with Brad Smith? He's certainly not good enough to play receiver, and we already have 2 extremely good returners in Hester and Knox.. Manning too if he stays which now looks doubtful. Why are we not going after a guard? Names that I thought would be mentioned based on common logic would be players like Braylon Edwards, Sidney Rice, Malcom Floyd, Carl Nicks, and maybe even Roy Williams because of his connection with Martz and Daryl Drake.. Hopefully something significant can happen within the next two days but so far, I can't say that I have a clue as to what management is doing right now.
  23. He's still young (25) very athletic, quick, decent in pass coverage and I think he's a pretty solid tackler. He's not a guy that's going to rush the passer (only two career sacks in 4 years) but I would consider him a definite upgrade over what we have right now.
