Falcons at Bears Official Week 1 Game Thread
Bears4Ever_34 replied to Stinger226's topic in Bearstalk
Something weird is going on in Bear's media with Glennon. I just heard Jim Miller on the radio talk about how well Glennon played yesterday, too. It's almost like these guys have been programmed by Fox to set the bar so low for Glennon because Trubisky is a rookie and is "not ready." -
Jeff Dickerson just said on twitter White broke a bone on the backside of his shoulder, but it wasn't his collarbone. Surgery is still likely.

Uh, no. Watch the play again to refresh your memory. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2017091001/2...&tab=videos Massie gets beat, and there is pressure coming from Leno's man on the left side, but Glennon inexplicably runs back into where Brooks Reed is circling back to when he very easily could have taken a few steps towards the right and had more than enough time to make something happen. This was going on the entire game, because Glennon has no idea where the defense is coming from. -
I'm confused by the word "fear." They can take an xray in the lockeroom in like 5 minutes. Haven't they done that yet? But yeah, I already assumed he'd be out a while, and if that's the case, his career as a Bear has got to be over. Crazy to think he would end his Bear's career without a touchdown. That's hard to do.

Reports are White's shoulder was wrapped up and his arm was in a sling. Whatever the injury is (collarbone, seperated/dislocated shoulder) he's probably going to be out a while. Would not be surprised to see him IR'd again, which would likely end his Bears career. -

Two blown chances to win that game. Howard's was worse than Bellamy's. Why was Howard even in the game at that point and not Cohen? Howard's hands are anything but good. -

Glennon is the easiest sack in the NFL. Sad way to end the game. -

Kevin White, by the way, out for the game with a shoulder injury. Wasted pick. -

Defense couldn't put a full game together. Bears offense was already a serious question mark, but the defense has major secondary issues that I expect to be exploited more as the season wears on. -

The offense is basically just Tarik Cohen. He is the only reason this is still a game right now. -

Not sure there's another defense out there who have had more embarrassing miscues than the Bears have for the last half decade. This, dating back to Chris Conte's blown coverage on Randle Cobb. -

LMAO, nvm. Bears defense just gave that one away. -

Glennon needs to come out of this game. Bears need some kind of spark. -

Texans already benched Tom Savage for Watson, and Watson just threw a TD. -

Glennon isn't a starting quarterback. If the RB's don't make plays, the offense can't do anything. The Bears haven't thrown the ball more than 10 yards down field once in this game. Glennon's pocket presence is reminiscent of Rex Grossman's. Bad. -

Hicks is earning that contract! Absolutely dominant performance so far in this game. -

Glennon is freakin trash. That sack was brutal. He's been better as a blocker than he has as a quarterback. -

Wow, as good as Howard was last year, Cohen just has that next level burst that makes him special. Insane play to pick up 46 yards. -

Defense starting to get gashed. They've been on the field almost the entire half. -

Glennon starting to become a train wreck out there. Throw the god damn ball away! That's the 2nd sack he's unnecessarily taken, giving ATL a leg up on defense. -

Roy Robertson-Harris just saved a touchdown with that batted ball. Wow. Huge play from the rook, but the secondary has to be better than that. -

Glennon makes one good throw and then airmails one to Zach Miller and takes an unnecessary sack that takes them out of FG range, ending the drive. Dumb. Edit: Welp, nvm. I guess Barth's leg is stronger than I thought. -
Fox is as good as gone if the Bears don't drastically improve from last year. He will be coming into next season as a lame duck head coach, so the timing for a change would set itself up pretty well, if that's what Pace wants. My guess is Pace would want to bring in an offensive guy he can trust to develop Trubisky.

I don't understand it. Bellamy and Thompson are never going to go away. No sense in having two special teams guys taking up roster spots as WR's when you just lost your #1 receiver a week ago and are sorely lacking talent at that position. Gentry has shown potential as a pass catcher all throughout training camp, and even flashed a few times in pre-season.
