Has he been picked yet?? If not, why would we not try and get this kid? He has alot of the skills Martz looks for in his offense. He's fast, he can catch and he can create space.
-
Don't know anything about him other than the scouting report I just read which doesn't sound encouraging. Small, not fast, not strong, but good tackler. Sounds like another special teams player to me..
-
ugh... we could have used that pick to fill a need on the offensive line! why in the world do we continue to draft DE who end up never playing. What does this say about Henry Melton?
-
This came out of left field.. wtf? Why would they trade McNabb anyways? So it was McNabb for Cambell? I can't think of any way that this trade makes any sort of sense.. Oh well, not our problem..
-
Yeah so lets get rid of our best defensive lineman from last year, that makes a whole lot of sense..
-
Wtf? WHY? Were going to rely on Mark Anderson now? This is so idiotic and makes no sense at all. Alex Brown was a solid defensive end and with no Ogunleye and no Brown we have Mark Anderson and Gilbert.. Woooohooo.

I'm also pretty indifferent about T.O. I wouldn't go crazy over signing him because of his well documented antics on the field and in the locker room. He's a me first player and if he doesn't get what he wants he wines about it. The one thing you gotta give him credit for is his work ethic. He is known for being the hardest worker in practice and if your team is winning and he's doing well you've got yourself a pro bowl player. I just don't know if it's worth it because as soon as our offense goes through a dry spell T.O will get in Cutler's face and walk up and down the sideline griping. That's my fear with him. I know if we sign him he'll be a great player just like he always has been. It's the antics he does when he's not getting the ball is what worries me.

Well if Forte is anything like he was last year he will be benched as a starter and Taylor will get more carries. If he improves greatly from last year he will get more carries with Taylor coming in to spar him like he did AP last year. That's atleast what I envision but I wouldn't be surprised that at the end of the year Chester Taylor was our starting running back.

bye Vasher

Eventually after being as bad as they have been over the past decade you will get enough high draft picks to make your team better.

What about the O-Line, WR & Defensive Backs?
Bears4Ever_34 replied to GreatScott82's topic in Bearstalk
I would sign that Otogwe guy next and fill our FS position so in the draft we can pretty much draft all offensive lineman, haha. Maybe pick up another linebacker and DT in the process. But we really need to strike gold with an offensive lineman in this draft to help Cutler. My fear is the Martz offense usually gets Quarterbacks killed if the lineman don't know what they're doing. -
I was hearing Pepper's 40 million guaranteed was the largest in NFL history. Really? I thought Haynesworth and Stafford got like 50 million guaranteed in their contracts.

I keep hearing about WR, especially from idiot ESPN analysts, but IMO WR is our STRENGTH! You watch, at the end of the year everyone will be praising our WR's and they will shine in Mike Martz's offense, especially Hester and Aromoshadu. I think adding a Brandon Marshall (hypothetically) would be nice but we don't need another receiver. Hester, Aromoshadu, Bennett and Knox are all very talented receivers. -
That's the first time I heard 91 million. I highly doubt that it is. There is a huge difference between 72 and 91 and most reports out there from what I have seen are saying its 6 years 72 million.

The thing is, how are these players going to be when they hit the final years of their contract. Peppers will be 36 when his contract is up and Taylor will be 34-35. I personally feel like Peppers will be a dominant player for atleast 2-3 more seasons. After that it's anybodys guess. We need to get to the Superbowl now!
-
I can sense it now. Julius Peppers, 3 sacks and a INT TD in the Superbowl! MVP baby!
-
Figures. I was one of his biggest fans his rookie year. He was truly a dual threat runner. Atleast now we have a quality backup that, if Forte doesn't get the job done this time, Chester will fill in just fine and be able to carry the load.
-
Peppers couldn't stop smiling. That's what I like to see!!!!! Haha
-
What the hell is taking them so long? My god I've been staring at an empty table for the past 20 minutes.
-
ESPN just said there is new on Brandon Marshall. I don't know if that is any way tied to Olsen but interesting nonetheless.
-
I was reading on the Bears board that it was Olsen for draft picks. FWIW
-
Great! Now Peppers is next!

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/03/so...ng_imminen.html Wow if that's true, that's awesome! Still not reading too much into this report until it's actually official but I thought he was looking for something like 16 million a year.
-
That's pretty much what I have been thinking as well. Peppers relies on his athleticism sometimes in games rather than his will or drive to dominate his man. I remember someone saying he doesn't love the game and IMO the only reason he'd come to Chicago is because they'd offer him the most money. That's it. I still think he can be a dominant player for atleast 2 more seasons but after that, his contract is going to be hellacious to get away from. It's a very risky move for the Bears but in an Uncapped year, why not?
