  1. It was also interesting to see Cohen didn't get that many touches today. I suppose some of that was because they wanted to see more of Langford, but they could also be trying to hold back some of his plays for the opener. That guy excites me everytime he touches the ball. He's going to help out Jordan Howard a lot.
  2. Am I the only guy who didn't realize Kevin White changed his number from 13 to 11 until today?
  3. Too late for it now, but Trubisky needs more reps with the 1's. He looks much more comfortable playing with the backups, because those are the guys he's been throwing to all off-season.
  4. Great throw and catch by Trubisky and Gentry. I'd like to see Gentry make this roster, especially now with Meredith out for the season. He and Trubisky seem to have established some good chemistry since training camp.
  5. It took TEN's first team offense 3 quarters to score on the Bears D, who have been playing with their 2nd/3rd stringers for most of this half.
  6. Cut Lamar Houston now. That's his 3rd off-sides penalty in the quarter!
  7. I'm a Bears fan, and I want the best quarterback to start. After two trash games, Trubisky had clearly outperformed Glennon coming into today's game. Glennon most likely played well enough to hold onto his job for week 1 after his performance today, but I'm not going to sit here and lie about how "great" he was, like I expect most of the media to do about today's game. In reality, he only looked great for 1 series. His accuracy and decision making started to get worse as the game wore on. I want to see how Trubisky performs here to open up the 2nd half.
  8. His accuracy has been wildly inconsistent since the first series. He's now made multiple panic throws on 3rd down that are well short of the sticks, which drives me crazy. When he gets a clean pocket, he's looked okay, but under pressure, you can see how uncomfortable he looks, and it makes his already weak arm look even worse when he's forced to throw it down field.
  9. Glennon looks so uncomfortable out there. The slightest pressure gets him rattled. I think he lucked out on a few of those passes as he was starting to fall backward while being pressured. The ball just hangs and wobbles.
  10. Cam's done. That was bad. Should have paid Alshon. WR core was dangerously thin as it is. Now it's the worst group in the entire league.

  12. He needs reps with the 1st team offense, if for nothing else than to protect him from ending up getting himself killed like he almost did last night, thanks to a 3rd string OL. https://www.clippituser.tv/c/mlnlvd If he got hurt on that play, John Fox and Ryan Pace would be getting crucified for negligence.
  13. I might go as far as to say Cohen looks like he could be a legit #1 type back if he can prove to handle the heavier workload. Right now at least, he is clearly no worse than the 2nd best RB on this roster. The moves he showed off tonight got me all kinds of excited. I thought he might break one of those for a long TD run. Bouncing on guys left and right. He's so much fun to watch out there. I can definitely see some Darren Sproles in him.
  14. Can anybody explain to me why Kevin White is only playing with the #1's in pre-season? He's done absolutely nothing to deserve the early exit treatment. He needs ALL the reps he can get, and in my opinion, he should be out there for the majority of all these pre-season games until he at least does SOMETHING out there to spark a boost in confidence. The Bears should be doing this with both White and Trubisky. Enough with this Mark Sanchez crap. You can't tell me a single employee in the Bears organization thinks getting Mark Sanchez these meaningless reps in pre-season games is better for Trubisky for the present or the future. The way this thing has been set up so far in pre-season almost makes it look like the Bears are purposely going out of their way to avoid a QB controversy at all costs. Instead of winning football games, they are more focused on silencing the noise. I don't like it. Last thing, is there any reason why Victor Cruz barely played last night despite being their best receiver? Is John Fox blind? I know the guy has been perpetually injured since his 4th year in the league, but they're treating him like he's some no name guy without much of a chance to make a roster. It just seems weird to me that the Bears haven't given him much of a chance to play with the 1's more.
  15. Not as sharp as last week, but some had to do with the shitty playcalling and garbage OL he was playing with. There were too many run plays called on 1st and 2nd down that resulted in negative yardage, putting him in long distance situations. His ball placement wasn't as good. A lot of his pass attempts were towards the ankles of the receivers, and two of his passes were put in harm's way. One almost got picked near the sideline (although the receiver slipped coming back to the ball, which messed up the timing), and the other was on a deep pass that was thrown too far to the inside and not towards the sideline where only the receiver could make a play. Despite all that, he still ended up completed 75% of his passes (6 for 8 for 60 yards and 1 TD). The kid has talent. I do think that he was having a bit of trouble identifying Arizona's exotic blitz packages. That's something to keep an eye on for later if he were ever to play in a regular season game. That's to be expected for most rookies, though. That'll come with time.
  16. Playcalling not helping Trubisky out. And he's getting killed playing behind the 3rd string OL. Stupid as hell having him out there as the #3.
  17. Glennon looks like a guy on his way out of the league soon. This is Todd Collins-level bad.
  18. Langford is going to get cut. Howard is the surefire #1, and it looks like Tarik Cohen is going to be the #2, as his role in the offense is projected to be very large. Carey and Cunningham all have special teams experience, which Langford does not. He's the odd man out, in my opinion—especially if he can't get back on the field before pre-season is over.
  19. He's going to be 29 already before the end of the year. How many good years does he even have left in him? This was partly the reason I did not like it when they drafted him. With these injuries starting to pile up on him, his career could be over sooner than we think.
  20. That's insane. I know he had one intentionally incomplete pass to stop the clock, and then there was the Daniel Brown drop and the Cruz drop that cost him some completion % numbers too. The deep ball he threw to Cruz also should have been a flag, which wouldn't have counted had that play been properly ruled. The only true miss throws he had I think were the two batted balls and the last one that went out of bounds as time expired. So, yeah.. Trubisky's accuracy is really freakin good!
  21. Dak Prescott played against 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stringers last year in pre-season too before Tony Romo got hurt. His first few drives came against Denver's 2nd unit, so it's not like he was only out there against a garbage crew. But yes, I do agree that we shouldn't get too carried away over one pre-season game. But the stuff we did see tonight, I think there is definitely a legitimate reason for optimism.
  22. My conclusion after tonight's game is that the Bears are going to blow this year, but Trubisky looks really good. He very easily could have had 3 TD's tonight. I was really blown away by his accuracy. I had heard Pace talk about it extensively after the draft, but I didn't realize he was THAT good with his ball placement. Some of the throws he was making on the move tonight reminded me a little bit of Romo or Rodgers. His deep ball looks like it could use a lot of work, but other than that, there wasn't a single bad thing you could say about him tonight. I also love how he quietly had almost 40 yards on the ground tonight. His ability to run, as well as throwing it, will always keep the defense honest. Watching him tonight got me pumped for the future. It's only one game, but damn. Kid looked really good out there. Hats off to him.
  23. Whitehair should remain where he is. No need to move him. He's been great as a center.
  24. That's true, but if Trubisky sucks, there is no replacement for a real franchise QB, and if the Bears are in position to land one again next year and pass because of what they think Trubisky will be, it'll be a tough pill to swallow. But yeah, hopefully he's good and we won't have to worry about it. My gut tells me otherwise, though.
  25. The funny thing is, the Bears are going to have a top 3 pick again next year (most likely #1) in a year when the quarterback class is supposed to be better, but they won't be able to after what they gave up for Trubisky..
