  1. This would be a TREMENDOUS hire. New York was stupid for firing him.
  2. Yeah.. It's good to see the Vikings lose but I hate the Saints too.. This is the exact matchup I didn't want to see. I'd rather watch #4 vs Rex Ryan and the Jets but it's the opposite. Well I guess were getting ready for a blowout because the Colts are probably going to destroy the Saints.
  3. yeah yeah, he wins but who wouldn't with that team honestly? He inherited a team with Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne on offense and Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis on defense. Obviously he's not a bad coach, I'm just saying.. It's Peyton's team.
  4. Well Damn it, the freakin Colts are going to win of course.. God I hate there lifeless coach, reminds me of Lovie Smith. Screw the Colts. I want to see Rex Ryan vs the Old man.
  5. Yep I'm rooting for a Favre vs Jets Superbowl matchup with the Jets crushing them in the Superbowl!
  6. I'd rather call back Ron Turner. ANYONE BUT HIM.
  7. Not surprised, that's what we get for letting him keep his job. I don't trust anything Lovie says or does because quite frankly I think he's a dumb moron.
  8. Why are we doing this backwards? I'm pretty sure you aren't suppose to hire position coaches before you hire coordinators. Usually the coordinators want people to fit into their systems.
  9. Agreed. We just need to place the talent around him. Jay is a quarterback that will win you multiple superbowls if you have the talent surrounding him.
  10. Even though I'd love for him to bring a 3-4 defense over here I know Lovie will not consider him because he isn't one of his buddies and he doesn't run the cover 2.
  11. Yeah I'd be happy with any one of the three. I don't really know who I'd want the most out of those guys, they all have their own specialties. Chester Taylor is probably the most complete running back out of the 3 now. It wasn't too long ago where he was a starter and rushed for over 1,000 yards for the Vikings before Peterson got there. Now he's a very valuable 3rd down back because he can block and can catch out of the backfield. McGahee is a good short yardage guy that still has some fuel left in his tank. He may make the most sense because Forte is pretty awful at picking up the short yardage, atleast this year he was. LT might be a great compliment to Forte. He doesn't have near the quickness he once had 3 or 4 years ago but he can still be a good guy to have on your team to share carries with. Like I said before I really have no preference over which guy I'd really like the Bears to get. Any one of those three would be great for us.
  12. Dang. well my predictions got completely screwed up now that the Chargers lost.. I may get one pick right, I think the Saints probably demolish the Vikings next weekend and get into the Superbowl. That's the way these playoffs have gone this year. It's been a one sided affair in pretty much every game but 2.
  13. I'm thinking we should still let Ogun walk and hope JA finds a stud DE in the later round to help spark this line similar to the 06 season with Mark Anderson. Otherwise we need to resign Anderson himself and see if he can't get back to where he was in his rookie season. I just don't think Ogunleye is worth the money.
  14. That's different, because it wasn't a family member. An average of one person dies every 1.8 seconds, The only reason this gets mentioned is because Gaines Adams is an NFL football player. I am saddened by this tragic story but I don't think it's wrong to wonder about how this affects our football team. After all, this is a Football forum, not a place of mourning.
  15. ahh I didn't think so.. I've heard he died from a heart attack. 26 is awful young to have a heart attack.
  16. Wow, what a tragedy. RIP Gaines Adams. Terrible terrible news.. -I wonder, will the NFL give us a pick back? Or what are the ramifications from something like that?
  17. Lol, have you guys seen this yet? It's so corny and cheesy but yet so AWESOME! "I read the defense. I read the defense." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPIp7rO2zNk
  18. I'm pretty sure they want to bring in Zorn as a QB coach, and he's very good at that. I'd love to have him fill that position.
  19. Sounds like Mike Martz is going to end up being the guy... Which unless our receivers learn how to run better routes and our offensive line suddenly becomes one of the best in the league we are going to fail with him. Cutler may throw more interceptions if that's possible. Martz' offense is notorious for getting quarterbacks killed and his passing is predicated on throwing the ball to where a receiver SHOULD be. IDK about you but that spells trouble to me. The only reason he was good with the Rams was because he had a HOF QB that is one of the most accurate quarterbacks to ever play and had two of the best route running receivers in the game at the time; not to mention Marshall Faulk who was basically another great receiver. I did hear however, that the Bears are looking into Tom Clements, the OC for the Packers which IMO would be better than Martz.
  20. I was hoping they'd atleast consider Mike Zimmer (The D Coord at Cincinnati) but this guy is one of Lovie's buddies from a few years back and he runs a pretty good Cover 2.
  21. People are saying the whole Bates thing isn't a done deal and Shefter is wrong. I will wait and see until it's actually official.
