2006 was just the perfect storm when it came to defense. Everybody seemed to be in the ripe years of their primes. Of course you had Mike Brown who was the leader of our defense until he went down with an injury. Tommie Harris was a beast and Mark Anderson was a young rookie who was playing out of his mind. He and Tommie were always bringing pressure which is a very reason why the D was so dominant. Now we have Urlacher and Briggs who are still good but they have no support behind them in the secondary and our D line gets no push whatsoever. Peppers has been making an impact but he hasn't gotten to the quarterback much at all this season and it has hurt our overall defense. When you have such a vanilla defensive scheme like the Cover 2 it's imperative that you get pressure from your front 4. When you don't, almost any quarterback can beat the cover 2.

Aside from Cutler not throwing as many picks (Knock on wood) Martz has been worse than Turner's offense. Atleast Turner called far more short 3 step drops to protect what little protection Cutler had from the offensive line.

Let's be real here, anybody not named Jimmy Clausen can look like Peyton Manning whenever they play against the Bears. And on the flip side any defensive end/ LB/ DT can look like Reggie White when they are rushing the quarterback. It's just ridiculous and inexcusable.

Well that was two awful teams we just watched right there.

I'd be willing to bet at this point last year we were scoring more and probably gaining more yards than with Martz.

We are the luckiest 4-1 about to be 4-2 team on the face of this earth. This Bears team is terrible.

Hasselbeck has a day and a half to throw, defensive line getting absolutely no pressure at all. Peppers has to do something.

Atleast we finally started in Seahawk territory. 2 first downs and we are in FG range.

And this is one of the reasons I didn't want Mike Martz to begin with. He puts no emphasis on blocking at all, all he thinks about is throws down the field. You combine that with our atrocious offensive line and you get a disaster.

I wish I could play DE against the Bears, even I could get a sack.

It also makes no sense to make Cutler go into a 7 step drop back at our own endzone

The Seahawks have been holding on Peppers all game long and there has been no call for holding.

Even though we don't really have a really good running back on this team Martz needs to atleast try and force some big runs out of this offense. Even if you aren't getting huge gains, eventually you wear out the defense if you stick with it, and not only that but it also opens up the play action pass which is something we can't do now when the opponent knows your are going to pass it 80% of the time.

We are a very bad redzone team. I'll take the 3 but sooner or later those can come back to haunt you. When you are in the redzone you gotta put up Touchdowns.

We might have to win this by getting a TO on defense or a special teams TD. The offense looks pretty pathetic right now. Peppers needs to take this game over.
