  1. I don't know how Brett Favre makes the Vikings a super bowl contender. IMO he actually makes them worse. I swear to God, the media acts like this is the Brett Favre that is in his prime years that will throw 30 TD's in a season when in reality, he just got done throwing 22 freaking INTERCEPTIONS last year and stunk the last half of the year with the Jets! It is beyond me how someone can say the Vikings just won the division because they got a 40 something year old quarterback with declining skills. If the Vikings win the division which I don't see them doing, it will be because Adrian Peterson carries them there in spite of Favre. I see the Vikings finishing 3rd with the Bears in 1st and the Packers in 2nd place. Finally we have someone to take advantage of the Vikings poorest pass defense. Cutler will shred their defense as will Aaron Rodgers. I am not scared of Favre at all. Why would you be?
  2. I don't see Hester ever being a #1 receiver. I think he'd be the perfect slot receiver.
  3. Yeah, I had my starters set, so I figured I might as well take a flyer on him. I probably should have grabbed Hester instead though but I didn't want too many Bears cuz then I'd be screwed during the bye week.. It would have been amazing if I could have somehow gotten AP and Andre Johnson but the autopicks got him before round 2..
  4. Well here's my team. I drafted a couple of weeks ago. I got the 1st pick out of 10. 1. Adrian Peterson 2. Roddy White 3. Darren McFadden 4. Jay Cutler 5. Willie Parker 6. Chad Ochocinco 7. Lee Evans 8. Greg Olsen 9. Carson Palmer 10. Vikings D 11. Michael Crabtree 12. Jamal Charles 13. LeSean McCoy 14. Justin Gage 15. Robbie Gould 16. 49'ers D
  5. It is unbelievable how bad the media is overreacting to a Preseason game! I'm about to lose my mind. Jeez people, he aint going to throw for a bigillion yards in a game or throw 3 TD's every time he steps on that field. Who cares if he throws an interception in preseason. He's just testing the waters as of right now, trying to get a feel for how these receivers play and react in a live game. Not to mention the vanilla play calling. If they play this way against Greenbay in week 1, then I'd start to worry but until they play a full game or a full half, I'm not judging them. 2/3 of our offensive stars weren't playing in the game either. When we have Olsen and Forte in the lineup, it'll make a huge difference. I don't expect Forte to play more than 1 preseason game or so, Idk about Olsen.
  6. That interception was totally Cutler's fault. Hester just made it worse by standing like a spectator instead of disrupting the DB from catching it.
  7. Brett Basanez looked like a kid that won a promotional prize as a fan to play a series as the Chicago Bears quarterback. That's how bad he looked. His arm strength is pitiful.
  8. What I learned: We are RUSTY! and IT'S PRESEASON. Nothing to worry about. 2/3 of our stars on offense were out. Forte and Olsen make a huge difference, Cutler was looking pretty nervous out there. He forced it up to Devin but Hester should have atleast gotten a pass interference on that instead of basically letting the guy catch it. -Our 1st string O line looked okay. not great, just okay. Cutler was rushed a few times, in particular that interception he was awfully close to getting hit. -Did Rideau and D.A even dress? Or was it just "everyone throw to Rashied Davis day"? I don't think either of those guys had a pass thrown to them all day and I may be wrong but I don't think they were on the field much at all. I also didn't notice Bennett in the game. The only two guys I really saw make plays were Davis and Hester... I think we will look better in the 2nd preseason game. Remember, there is no game planning in preseason. It's just a set of plays the Bears plan to run regardless of what the defense is doing. The defense looked like a carbon copy of last years which it probably should considering we have the same guys back, mostly. Edwards was 10/10. I would hate to start the season with Vasher as our starting CB, he's awful. I'm hoping Zack Bowman will take his place in the starting lineup once he's healthy.
  9. Besides Hester's 2 catches, it seemed like the only receiver the Bears threw to was Rashied Davis... Never saw Rideau or D.A targeted for a pass at all.
  10. West coast offense.. I don't even know if that's what Buffalo runs but that's what it looks like. Remember when Brian Griese killed us last year throwing over 50 or 60 times for about 400 yards?? LOL. That's why we need more pressure on the quarterback to cause those incompletions.
  11. I haven't noticed the fatigue at all. I guess I forget to look at it but I've had some really good games with Chris Johnson, Ronnie Brown, and Adrian Peterson so far. In my season Forte has been averaging about 80 yards per game which isn't great but he did have one game where he rushed for about 115. I like the new animations they added but I am kinda hatin on the one where you get gang tackled by like 4 players and you somehow sneak out of it only to rush for a 73 yard touchdown... I can see if Adrian Peterson was the one doing it but I've done it with Forte and little Chris Johnson several times.. So far the receiving animations have been my favorite, along with the QB's throwing obviously.. I like how you can control your steps as a QB with the right thumbstick, I just always forget to remember to use it when a blitz is coming because I'm so focused on throwing to a receiver. The new intros are pretty cool, I guess I was just thinking that there would be more to it. The jets flying by was about 3 seconds long and that was it.. They show the same animations everytime from a RB, QB, or WR.. They could have changed it up a bit. Another nitpick I have is I just played a game where Cutler sprained his ACL and Haine had to come in, but after the game the guy interviewed CUTLER! This shouldn't happen. I feel like EA could have done a much better job to fix these things. If your going to add some new elements to the game, atleast clean up all the problems first.
  12. I'm pumped. Even though I know these guys won't be playing a full game, I still expect to see the starters in their for atleast one quarter. I want to see which receivers Cutler works well with. My guess is that he finds Olsen quite a bit tonight and Hester on the slants. D.A and Rideau need to step up big time so we can get rid of Rasheid Davis!
  13. So I just got this game yesterday and have been playing it for a while. There is a drastic difference between this year's game and last year's. They have changed the pace of the game to slow it down to make it seem realistic. It takes a while to get used to but I think it did the game well. They also changed the default quarter lengths to 7 min due to this change. - As far as the graphics go, this is the best looking madden game ever. Lots of little details in the game that I love. They finally got Matt Ryan's sleeves he wears in games (Other players wear them as well) and added new gloves and cleats so now Hester wears the orange gloves and cleats in the game like he does in real life! Love this addition. However they still have the same old "pointy hair" you see with guys with dreads. They don't move, they just stick out like someone sprayed it for days with Hairspray and gel.. ugh. But if you can look past those things, you will have no problem playing this game. - THE AUDIO COMMENTARY SUCKS!! Worst than ever! I seriously think they spent 5 minutes of their time to put this together. Collingsworth and that other boring old man still do the games and they are like robots. And if that isn't bad enough, Alex Flanigan's halftime reports are absolutely awful! The old NFL 2k halftime show with Chris Berman was a million times better than this! I almost want to mute the game when I play it because it just gets old. I think this game could have easily gotten a 10/10 if they drastically improved this... This is the only thing I see holding the game back. - Like I said, some of the additions to the game are awesome. They finally finally added quarterback's throwing styles! I've been asking for this for a long time and now that they've added it, it looks spot on. Tom Brady throws like Tom Brady, Jay Cutler throws like Jay Cutler etc.. Also some animations are MUCH better, especially receiving wise. I threw a pass to Wes Welker a little over his shoulder and he had to adjust to the ball instead of him glitching to the spot. I was pleasantly surprised by this! Because of the ridiculously bad audio in the game that is the only real knock I have. I'd give it an overall 8.5/10.

  15. Ahhh yes.. That guy was a true Rex Grossman homer if I ever saw one.
  16. But Rasheid Davis is terrible and we all know that. Who cares about "experience" it doesn't matter if you're not any good. He's had two great moments for the Bears, the TD against Minny late with Grossman, and the long catch down the middle against the Seahawks in the playoffs that got us into field goal position. Other than that, all he has done is drop passes in crucial situations. If the only reason we are keeping him is because he's "experienced" and a reliable special teams player, I think the Bears are wrong. For once, the Bears have a quarterback who has the guts to tell everyone he will have some say in the final roster cuts regarding the WR's. Could you imagine Kyle or Rex doing that? I haven't heard a word from Cutler about Davis this whole camp and judging by his comments about D.A and Rideau I think that gives you a strong indication of what he's thinking.
  17. David Haugh "Vick at OHare juicy twist, but, no, there is no chance he becomes a Bear....none" Zach Zaidman "Bears say Michael Vick's visit to Chicago has absolutely nothing to do with the franchise" ahhhh man... hope they're wrong haha
  18. I think Carolina is a perfect fit for him. Delhomme is an average at best QB. He could come in and compete in year 2 with the team and get back to being a starter in the NFL.
  19. He's coming into the NFL as a QB but not as a starter. We could easily make room for him here as a backup. Cut Basanez, move Haine to 3rd string and sign Vick to a 1-2 year deal as a Wildcat player. Then when his time is up he'll move on to try and prove he's starter worthy. Not saying it's going to happen but if we do get Vick, I fully expect him to be the backup QB, mainly used in the Wildcat offense 3 or 4 times a game along with other trick plays we might use.

  21. Knox and Iglesias are locks to make this team. I think they may IR Kinder instead of putting him on the practice squad because theirs a chance someone may pick him up. Atleast depth charts are subject to change on a game to game basis. I am hoping they switch Rideau and D.A into the first string some atleast once this preseason and move Rasheid to 4th string until they finally cut him. Knox will stay on the team because he's going to be a backup punt/kickoff returner along with being the "gunner" on punt coverage. Our special teams coach labels him as a "weapon" because of his speed.
