He's coming into the NFL as a QB but not as a starter. We could easily make room for him here as a backup. Cut Basanez, move Haine to 3rd string and sign Vick to a 1-2 year deal as a Wildcat player. Then when his time is up he'll move on to try and prove he's starter worthy. Not saying it's going to happen but if we do get Vick, I fully expect him to be the backup QB, mainly used in the Wildcat offense 3 or 4 times a game along with other trick plays we might use.

http://www.tmz.com/2009/08/12/michael-vick...l-bearing-down/ What does this mean??

Knox and Iglesias are locks to make this team. I think they may IR Kinder instead of putting him on the practice squad because theirs a chance someone may pick him up. Atleast depth charts are subject to change on a game to game basis. I am hoping they switch Rideau and D.A into the first string some atleast once this preseason and move Rasheid to 4th string until they finally cut him. Knox will stay on the team because he's going to be a backup punt/kickoff returner along with being the "gunner" on punt coverage. Our special teams coach labels him as a "weapon" because of his speed.

I like that Fontel Mines kid. He has some real size and is pretty athletic! It's too bad for him but I'll bet he'll be back next year.

I am pumped for a preseason game, just so I get to see Cutler and the receivers!!
-
I hope to go to my FIRST Bears game this year, preferably early when it's not colder than a witches tit outside
-
Seriously, have you heard anything about Rashied Davis in training camp? I have heard every receivers name BUT his so far. He's on his way out. The only way he sticks with the teams is because one of the WR's blows it in preseason.
-
I'd say Rashied Davis gets cut (Which he should) and Iglesias becomes the Earl Bennett of last year; meaning he won't dress or play many games. It looks like the depth chart is something like, Hester, Bennett, Rideau, D.A, Knox, Iglesias.

If you guys didn't hear the All Access interview with Cutler, Olsen, and Matt Forte yesterday it was probably thee best interview I've ever listened too! They were poking jokes at Zach Zaideman (sp?) and just being loose, talking like normal human beings instead of the cliche answers you are used to hearing from them. There should be a link to it on 670 the score.

For as bad as Kyle Orton's neckbeard is, his hair is almost just as bad. He's sporting a mullet look without the facial hair.
-
I don't think they have a choice.
-
Haha I was thinking the exact same thing!

I was there today. I saw it happen but it didn't look bad. I saw them bump into each other as they both went up for the pass. I saw him go down and my first thought was the knee and then I figured he had a hip pointer because the trainers were working that area. I'm surprised how many times players get injured in training camp. I've been to Bears camp a few times over the years and there practices never seem all that tough. Maybe it was a freak thing but we need this guy to be healthy.

I love Johnny Clayton. He is thee best Analyst out there.

I'd like to see Matt get the LT treatment in preseason. I think he should play the last preseason game and that's about it. He gets so many carries and receptions for this team that he needs all the rest he can get.
-
God I can't wait till Week 1!!!!! I'm so pumped!!!!!
-
He came in 15 pounds over weight. Is there any DT on this team that takes football seriously??
-
11-5 sounds about right. Receptions: Olsen- 88 Receiving Yards: Olsen- 1012 Touchdowns: Hester- 8 Rushing Yards: Forte- 1200 Rushing TD's: Forte- 11 Cutler predictions: 3400 yards 26 TD's 14 INT's
-
With Cutler here, anything is possible. We went to the super bowl with Rex Grossman for God sake. If our defense is 3/4 as good as it was that year we can win it because Jay and Forte will pick up the offense.

Devin Hester willing to give up return duties
Bears4Ever_34 replied to defiantgiant's topic in Bearstalk
Hester CAN'T give up being a returner. That's his bread and butter. I don't care if he's a full time WR, he's gotta learn how to do both. -
Cutler says he's happy with the Bears' receivers
Bears4Ever_34 replied to defiantgiant's topic in Bearstalk
I can't freaking wait until the first preseason game! I want to see Cutler to Hester for TD's! Forte dashing through the holes bruising defenders, wearing them out for Kevin Jones and allowing Cutler to have more room to throw! -
I thought 20 was generous if anything. Personally I think Lovie is one of the worst coaches in the NFL and he's so damn stubborn and annoying. He refused to change the cover 2 when it was consistently getting destroyed by guys like Dan Orlovksky and crap QB's that have no business being in the NFL. Him firing Rivera was bad, and hiring is buddy Babich was even worse. Basically I feel like I'm repeating what ML just mentioned a few posts above. Lovie at 20 is about where he should be and could possibly be a little higher. If we have another bad year next year I'm hoping Bill Cowher comes our way.

Wow Burress is already 31? Time flies, I would have never guessed he was out of his twenties yet!

If Rideau is a better special teams player than Rasheid Davis, Davis will be cut.
