  1. I think Forte gets fewer touches which is a good thing (Makes his career last a little longer) but he still gets about 1300 yards on the ground. Teams won't be able to stack the box this year because Cutler will pick apart the defense with his arm; this is especially helpful against a team like Minnesota who's pass defense is the worst in the NFL. Everyone talks about Green Bay but the Bears had a better record last year with KO, its going to be the same thing next year except we have an easier schedule to deal with. Aaron Rodgers vs Jay Cutler is a toss up, I'll give them that but were still a better team and right now I'd put us ahead of Minnesota too. Forte will have a pro bowl season next year I can almost guarantee it. His YPC will be better for reasons discussed above and because we will pass more and the focus of a teams defense will be to stop our QB which takes alot of pressure off of Matt. If we just had a Chad Johnson or a great receiver on this team, I would instantly put us atop of the NFC. We have two questions to answer this year. 1. How are receivers going to play with Cutler now as our Quarterback? 2. Can our defense get back to that elite level again? The one thing I'm skeptical about is our defense. We haven't added anybody and we lost Mike Brown. It would be really great if we could draft a stud LB or Safety that can make a huge impact. I hope Rod Mareneli will help in this area with the defensive line because that would change alot! If we can answer those to questions and we have a relatively low amount of key injuries this year, we will be in the Superbowl.
  2. Yeah I remember. Even though my thread title is what it is, I know Denver's receivers are better than the Bears but the point I'm making is that I think Cutler had more to do with it than anything, and they have a chance to improve their status as receivers in the league so we aren't talked about as one of the worst WR corp in the NFL. (This excludes Rashied Davis from the conversation because he is actually an awful receiver and should never play the position again.)
  3. Lets just see how Brandon Marshall does with Kyle Orton as Quarterback instead of Jay Cutler..
  4. I appreciate what Kyle Orton did for us last year. I mean, you might have your own opinions of him but the guy was tough as nails. He didn't have to come back early from his injury, but he did because he knew he had to if we had any shot at getting to the playoffs. I have been on record of saying I wouldn't mind Kyle as our starter next year because I believe he can be on a championship team as it's QB but he's not going to be a stat stuffer like Cutler is and he doesn't have that accuracy down field either. I feel great that we have Cutler but at the same time I'm sad for Kyle because he seemed like a great guy and I could see why his teammates were sad to see him go. I wish him the best in Denver.
  5. What ticks me off is the comments saying "I guess we got better as a team". Wth? Are you serious?! Of course we got better as a team. We got rid of a mediocre OKAY quarterback for a Pro Bowl Highly Talented Quarterback that you can build your offense around for the next 5-8 years.
  6. At first thought I would say absolutely. But then I started to think and the evidence might tell you a little something about Cutler. Take a look. Before Cutler came into the starting lineup in 2006, Brandon Marshall had 6 rec 76 yards 1 TD through 12 games. Throughout the final 4 games of the year when Cutler came in, Marshall had 14 rec 233 yards and 1 TD. Over the course of the next two years Marshall recorded 206 rec 2590 yards and 13 TD's. So who made who? Was it Cutler or Marshall? I think Cutler was the reason for Marshall's improvement. Tony Scheffler who was also drafted in 2006, pre Cutler, he had 6 rec 75 yards and 0 TD's through the first 12 games of the year. When Cutler was inserted into the starting lineup he had 12 rec 249 yards and 5 TD's. After that Tony had 89 rec, 1194 yards, and 8 TDs. The trend continues.. Eddie Royal wasn't a highly regarded receiver coming out of college. Did you expect 91 rec 980 yards and 5 TD's from him in his rookie year? I don't think so. Who was the cause of this? Jay Cutler! So what can we say about Cutler now? How is he going to improve not only Devin Hester's game but also Earl Bennett, a long time friend and teammate. I hope Cutler shuts up all the national media for saying he made a mistake coming to Chicago. I think he's going to have a helluva year and a great future in Chicago.
  7. Harrison is too old for me. I don't think he'd give us much of anything. Were going to have to hope for a receiver to come out of the draft to step up as a #1 or #2 receiver now. I don't know much about Hayward Bay but people have been telling me he's the next Troy Williamson.. I think as a 2nd rounder he'd have more value because of his potential as opposed to drafting him with a first round pick.
  8. Just thought I'd let everyone know who's interested..
  9. Looks like he's going to do some jail time. He might not even play this year so I don't think he's even an option.
  10. Yes. I think Earl Bennett is going to have a breakout year because Jay Cutler is now our quarterback! The two of them had chemistry together and I think Jay will be happy he'll have a receiver that he knows well to play with.
  11. OMG I HEARD THIS WHEN I WAS IN CLASS!!!!! I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY I CANT BELIEVE IT!!
  12. Madden sucks now. I think this may be the first game since 2004 that I won't get. 2006 was great, 2007 was okay and 2008 was god awful. 2k sports needs to bring its franchise back because it was always the best. O wait, thats right! They can't because stupid old EA Sports bought them out. >
  13. No not T.O. He would destroy us. Absolutely not. I'd go after Holt but not T.O. He is the essence of a cancer player.
  14. Guys I think we could be closer to Crabtree than you think. Teams are going to "Willis McGahee" him and he may fall into the draft. I still think we'd have to trade up to get him but I don't think he's a top 10 pick anymore.
  15. Lol I thought this was going to be about Jerry Rice when I first saw the thread.
  16. I was ticked when I saw the Super Bowl on NBC because Al and John are so bad and that stupid Faith Hill song at the beginning of each game is about as annoying as the dude who sings the MNF one.. I would have preferred either FOX or CBS do the telecast.
  17. Kurt Warner is a great quarterback with the right system. He would suck in Chicago where they favor the run over the pass + we have nobody on the receiving corp. He should stay in Arizona for another year or two and see if he can make another run at the Super Bowl- he should have gotten another ring tonight.
  18. It was clearly a forward pass. His elbow was moving forward. For that not to even get looked at was B.S. I thought alot of the personal foul calls on the Cardinals were very questionable, especially the roughing the passer. The last 8 minutes were amazing, the rest of the game was kinda blah but It saddens me to watch a game filled with so many questions that always seemed to favor Pittsburgh.
  19. My thoughts are that Arizona got hosed by the refs and deserved to win the game. What a crappy way to end on a blown call too. Fitzgerald is amazing! Too bad the wrong team won...
  20. We don't need a corner in round 1, we need a WR!
  21. I think the thread title is a bit misleading.
  22. Makes sense. I didn't really want him either.. Too old for the Bears. We need a stud receiver that has a lot of good years left in him. Chad Johnson is the best guy we could get, that is if Cinncy decides to deal him. The Bears are more likely to go in with the same or similar receivers they had this year against next season than go after some high priced guys like Chad Johnson or Anquan Boldin.
  23. THE BEARS FEEL GOOD ABOUT EVERYBODY! Lovie has taught them welll.... puke!
  24. Mark Sanchez will not have a career in the NFL as a starter, you can bet on that! I would not draft him in the 1st 2 or 3 rounds of the draft.
