Yeah, I'm saying that Forte and Orton are the reasons we are playing better than expected, that is all. Lovie, Turner, and Babich have had about 1-2 good games each and the rest have been subpar to god awful.
I'd let go of Booker and Davis for sure. Lloyd is gone because he's not on good terms with the coaching staff here. Hester will be back as our #1 pre-draft/pre-season until hopefully we go out and get on in free agency ala Chad Johnson or Anquan Boldin to solidify that #1 which moves Hester to the #2.
I think the Bears will win but Forte will have some trouble with that injury..
Bears win 24-14
Orton- 18-36 227 yards 2 TD's 0 INT
Forte- 14 carries 44 yards 1 TD 1 catch 11 yards 0 TD
Hester- 4 catches 68 yards 1 TD
Olsen- 5 catches 91 yards 1 TD
Berrian would have helped out alot but he wasn't worth the price tag the Vikes gave him, NO WAY! They can have him. What we should have done is franchised him.
I believe Atlanta will surely win now with that fatty out. The Giants are the better team but they've been struggling lately. The one good thing is they won't rest their players since they'll be fighting for a #1 seed now that Carolina is pressing them. Is that game in the Meadow lands or Minnesota?
Lol we both had the same reaction. I can't believe you don't like Kaplan! I find myself agreeing with alot of what he says pertaining to the Bulls and Bears (Don't care about the Sox or Cubs or Blackhawks).
I'm watching Chicago Tribune Live right now and there talking about Chad Johnson and how he's going to be available this offseason. It's been talked about before, but seeing how pathetic our WR corps is right now, do you feel like going after a guy like Ocho Cinco who could potentially raise our team to the next level but also destroy the locker room? I say, go for it.
For having "Pop eye like" arms and legs, Thomas Jones never used them as a running back. I don't think I ever saw him take on a tackler the way Forte does and get those extra grind it out yards. You could almost always bring Thomas Jones down on first contact and that's why I couldn't stand the guy.
I am disappointed but you can't say they didn't have a chance to make a difference. They blew it against the Panthers, Bucs, and Falcons earlier in the season and had the opportunity to take the lead by beating Minnesota but they didn't.
The line is slightly better than last year in run blocking (still below average) and much better at pass blocking (little above average) so Cedric probably could have gotten 1,000 but Forte is doing this mostly on his own. Cedric couldn't shake defenders, but Forte gets alot his his big gains after he avoids the secondary tackle with a quick move to get him major yardage. I won't even touch Benson vs Forte as a receiver/blocker, that might be brutal.
The Packers will try to run it down our throats again but I don't think Grant touches the endzone once which is key. As long as they come away with 3 instead of 7 that's better than nothing. If our offense just shows up to the game I think we can win, but neither the offense or defense showed up the last time we played them. The one important factor in all of this is, the game is in Soldier Field.
Prediction: Bears win 31-21
