Watch the New York Giants game tonight and you'll see how great their defensive line is. It all starts up front and they get pressure on the quarterback almost at will.
-
Yeah that 3rd and 26 was brutal. I think it was from their own 12 yard line or something and he threw it to that Douglas guy for a first. That was a major back breaker. He did seem to float one over Tillman down the sideline earlier in the game that was another key 3rd down situation. We were terrible on 3rd down and part of that was from our stupid cover 2 and how they could go down the field all day on slant patterns.
-
haha my bad, didn't know you were actually at the game. I guess you'd see some things that people watching on tv wouldn't, I'll take your word for it then. But I like what Graham has done in these last two games overall.

You mean Hamilton right?

If I blame any single person I blame Lovie.

I wouldn't have a problem with the squib if it was executed better. Make Norwood have to get it on the bounce instead of an easy catch. Sine Gould doesn't have the leg to kick it into the endzone, he should have tried and squib it to Norwood allowing the defense to get to him quicker than usual. There were so many plays that could have been winners for the Bears. Mike Browns "Should have been" pick 6, the poor throw Ryan made to White in the endzone that shoulda been picked off, Tommie Harris' stupid retarded fumble, kicking the 3 points instead of going for the touchdown.. (Although I agreed with that decision, Turner hosed us by calling Mckie on a FB run when everyone in the building knew what they were going to do.) -
The cover 2 is a simple coverage to exploit. Why do you think Atlanta ran slant after slant on 3rd downs? This was exploited badly by Matt Leinart 2 years ago in that wild game at Arizona where he just continued to complete pass after pass via slant. Lovie obviously doesn't get it. I hate the cover 2, I wish we would blitz more and more and disguise it like Pittsburgh so the QB thinks were in pass coverage but then it turns into a blitz.. We didn't give Ryan enough looks on defense to trick him into anything.. I can't wait until the day Lovie is fired, kinda like when I couldn't wait for Skiles to be fired by the Bulls..

If we played like the New York Giants D line, WOW, our defense would be Baltimore Ravens like in 2000. No matter who is the quarterback, pressure always wins, especially when its constant pressure. I love watching the Giants defense because always get after the quarterback. People act like Matt Ryan played like God yesterday but with no pressure and poor coverage, it's pretty easy to pick apart a defense. Topped onto that, the cover 2 is the easiest defense in the world to tear up and you have to credit Ryan for doing that. He made alot of key throws.

I don't know what you're looking at but Corey Graham looked pretty damn good yesterday and the game before. I said this earlier, he has a little Charles Tillman in him the way he plays. He's a great tackler, lead the team in tackles against Atlanta and he forced a fumble. I'd say if Peanut is out like he probably will be next week Graham can step in and stabilize that spot. He and Vasher are two different type of players but don't sit here and tell me Nate has had a good year so far because that would be wrong, he's been pretty awful actually. Giving up big play after big play.. I'm more worried about Peanut than I am Vasher although I'd rather have him in there than Hamilton.

I don't think any of this would have happened if Gould just kicks the damn squib 10 yards further out. He kicked it like it was an onside kick.
-
I actually thought that the Bears were missing a few players on special teams on that huge run by Norwood because the hole was so damn huge. Funny to find out that they indeed, did have all 11 men on the field..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE6ZjFkRxiE There is the video. freakin pisses me off. Atlanta should have lost the game.
-
yeah Tommie Harris sucks, what else is new?

Hey isn't it funny how Bears88 hasn't posted yet? There isn't anything bad to say about Orton! He's one helluva quarterback, and hopefully todays game was a stepping stone for more great things to come regardless if we lost or not. He played great!

Word is the Bears are protesting the clock. What if they win the protest? What happens?
-
No playoffs for the Bears. These games are the difference between playoffs and no playoffs. This is what? The 3rd game now where we had a chance to seal the deal on a victory but give it up late. Inexcusable. I'm off the bandwagon now too. This lost will do it to ya. I was celebrating like a wild man after that touchdown and I wanted to kill myself after that kick.
-
Definitely. That was the play that won it for the Falcons but that was not what cost the Bears the game. Anytime you give up 3rd and longs you'll get burned eventually.
-
Well this was definitely a SHOULD have been win for us. 4-2 looks better than 3-3. The gameplan was obvious, stop Turner and let Ryan beat you. He did, but the way he did it was so cheesy that it pissed me off. He had ALL DAY to throw and most of his throws were easy because our coverage was terrible. Atleast we have a quarterback now, that we can trust. Orton gets it, and he's going to be here for a while. Forte is good. Hester is learning. We have the core of the offense shaping up real good. The defense needs to change. The only way we win is when the offense continues to run the ball and neglects the pass, because that's all we are good at because of Dusty. We have to pick up a pass rusher, somebody that will make the offense gameplan for. We had that during Anderson's rookie year but he's reverted to a nobody so throw that out the window. Every quarterback will tear you up when they have a good receiver and have all day to throw.

Everyone is saying that the clock didn't start running until after Matt Ryan threw the ball. The comcast guys are saying the clock didn't show up on the last play either. Something smells fishy.
-
Right. That was in between a onside kick and a regular squib kick. Gould was off on that one. If the game was at Soldier field the game woulda been over, you knew the clock guy would give them 1 more second left.
-
My updated thoughts: Okay, right now I'm thinking that were going to have KO for a long time based on these last couple of games and his ability to lead the Bears on a SHOULD HAVE WON drive.
-
I seriously want to freakin kill somebody! I really do. I could say some pretty bad things about this team and what I think about them.
-
Im still thinking in my mind. How there is 6 seconds left on the clock and with a route that deep they still manage to get in field goal range. How do you even think about calling something like that if your a coordinator? HOW DO YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT? What luck. Unbelievable how we give that up, UNBELIEVABLE!
-
What a god damn joke. I won't get over this for a while. I've never seen a game like this. Matt Ryan wasn't god out there, any quarterback can throw against air when there is no pressure. The defense is a joke. I feel so bad for Kyle Orton, what a drive. Were going to get freakin killed against minnesota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
freak THIS DEFENSE. I HATE IT, I HATE THIS freakin TEAM! WHAT A JOKE! WE SHOULD HAVE freakin WON THIS GOD DAMN GAME. KYLE ORTON DESERVED THE WIN AND THE DEFENSE LOST THE freakin GAME FOR US. (I don't care about all caps this game was a freakin joke I'm pissed)

What luck.
