IMO this is a MUST WIN game for the Bears!
-
Maybe Lane Kiffen after he gets fired from Oakland.. Just a thought. Or I really liked that defensive coordinator from New York last year, forget his name. Maybe we could pry him away from New York after this season..

I'd sell it to Mark Cuban

Bucs TE Stevens: "People on the Bears got exposed"
Bears4Ever_34 replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
Hmmm wonder who that could be.. Vasher? The guy has been getting beat all season. Hunter Hillenmeyer, everytime I see him he's giving up major yardage to somebody he's suppose to be covering. If I had to guess, those two are the weakest links. You could throw in Kevin Payne, I'm not a big fan of his.. But we will have to live with him, its his first year and we lost McGowan. -
MIKE MARTZ! BAHAHAHA
-
Cedric Benson!

About 4 years too late..

Were going to see more Booker. He is more reliable than Rashied Davis. Lloyd will and should be deemed the #1 WR on this team making Booker #2 or #3. I'd like to see Rideau be called up to the 53 now, who knows if that'll ever happen. He would be a great redzone target and I think he can be a game breaking receiver, similar to a Plaxico Burress..
-
I've never been a fan of his. We need an upgrade at his position. Can Jamar Williams get it done?
-
If you go to any of their training camp practices, you'll see how much time they spend on running and getting in shape which is zilch, and when they do they half ass it..
-
I don't know about you guys but I'm kind of shocked by this. I guess that means Brandon Rideau stepping in now?!
-
I know that, my point was that they need to be more creative, using Miami as a primary example.
-
wether its that or not, we need to get creative. Hell, did you see Miami last week? They pretty much ran Darren McFadden's offense last year at Arkansas "The Wild Hog formation". They had Ronnie Brown under center and he basically ran the QB option. He either ran straight ahead or faked it to another player before taking off. He even threw a touchdown pass!
-
Good point! That's right. We aren't getting pressure! I look at teams like Dallas and they had 5 sacks the other day, without even looking that's probably more than we've had all season! We are doing good against the run but we need to actually sack the quarterback a few times to put their offense into 3rd and long situations intsead of 3rd and 3 or 5. Mark Anderson and Tommie Harris are supposed to be the main guys in the sack category but so far they've done nothing. I said it before, IMO Tommie Harris is done. Either rest him until he's 100% healthy or just give into the fact that he's going to be injury prone throughout the rest of his career! Dusty Dvorecek and Marcus Harrison have all played really well to start this season.

I didn't expect the Bears to be very good at all this year. I thought somewhere between 5-8 wins is where they'd fall. Unless somebody puts together a breakout season on offense like Kyle Orton or B Lloyd, were going to be right back to where we were last year, maybe with a win or two more. This is Orton's audition to show the Bears what he's got. If he has a great season, in all likely hood we'll resign him and keep him in our long term plan. If he struggles and ends up doing poorly we'll get rid of him and draft a quarterback within the first 2 rounds next year.
-
Either way we'll probably get beat. They'll blitz the hell outta Orton all game long and he'll get forced into some bad situations. And I don't think our defense can handle their "O" the entire game. McNabb when healthy like he is now, is always an MVP candidate. We better watch out! If we thought Brian Griese could shred our defense like no other, think again. McNabb can do it as well except he can scramble too..
-
Yeah and Kevin Jones is twice the size of any fullback. Have you seen the size of his arms?! Dude puts Thomas Jones to shame..
-
Orton was a big problem in the first half. I found myself calling for Grossman during that stretch but luckily he pulled it together and had a great second half.
-
It makes sense to use him, he's freaking good! He's only a few years removed from his last 1000 yard season, and he was in a shitty offense for running backs so its not like he's reverted to sucking, they just don't use running backs in that offense. I'd like to see a formula similar to Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson a few years ago with Forte getting a little more carries than TJ. I'd say once Matt hits around 10 carries or so, let Kevin Jones step in for about 5 carries or so, enough to where you give Forte a break but you don't take him out of his rythmn. I'd like to see Forte average around 20-25 carries and Jones atleast 12-15, sometimes more, depending on who's more effective. Lovie is going to find out that later on if he neglects KJ its going to bite him in the ass because Forte could hit a rookie wall if you don't use him sparingly. What's the point of having two good reliable backs if your only going to use one?! Throw some trickery into our offense. Put both of them on the field at the same time. Use Forte as a WR and KJ as a running back. Get creative! Figure it out!

I haven't given up on either of them. Both Olsen and Mark Anderson have alot of promise. Olsen is struggling right now, he'll fight through it. He's too good of an athlete not too. Same goes for Anderson. Right now, Alex Brown is tearing it up out there but its always good to have a couple really good DE's on your team to carry you through the playoffs (See the New York Giants of last year). We are one really good Quarterback from being a superbowl winner! Kyle I don't think becomes that guy so your basically going to have to get more big plays outta your wide receivers and tight ends for us to be contenders. The offensive line has been very average this season, some good, some bad. Hopefully when Chris Williams gets back in week 8 or whatever he'll help a little bit. Who knows, it's a long season!

At first I was ready to crucify Peanut for that penalty until I saw the replay, and now I blame it all on the refs. Its inexcusable for them to miss something so blatant right in front of them! This loss is tough to swallow..
-
I can see it now, Jerry Angelo is probably thinkin, "Lets draft some more defense"
-
Were a couple of plays away from 3-0 really. But seeing how we get out coached every game, we gotta be one of the worst teams in the league as far as making adjustments go. We had the formula to win. We rushed for way over 100 yards and we threw for over 250. That normally guarantees a victory + we won the takeaway turnover battle. We lost because of our inability to finish drives. Eventually kicking fieldgoals will get you beat and it did today.
-
That interception to Jason Taylor a couple years ago was brutal to watch though.. I think all Kyle did today was save his job for another start. I like how they got Forte involved in the passing game. That's how you can compensate for Orton's inability to throw the deep ball. Another way is like what we saw with Lloyd, the YARDS AFTER THE CATCH. The spin that gained 21 yards and the big crossing route plays racked up major yardage to KO's stats. That softens up the defense when you can get big plays like that. I'd still like to see us get Jones involved more. Forte looked kinda slow on 2 of his last 3 carries. He didn't even get accelerated.

Tommie Harris is done as far as I'm concerned. He's stealing money. He hasn't done anything since the beginning of the 2006 season. Devin Hester is going to get large sums of money for basically being what he is best at "A super freak returner". He doesn't know how to play WR yet he's getting paid like he should be a T.O.
