Brandon Rideau better make the team. He's had an excellent preseason and has shown me enough to earn a spot on this already "Up in the air" Wide receiver situation. I think Davis just earned himself a starting spot opening day with his performance Thursday so he's one.. You got Earl Bennett and Marcus Monk who have done nothing to my knowledge this preseason, they will not be starting.. Marty Booker has done nothing and IMO is a waste of space, I wish we could just cut him, I don't think he should be starting.. I have to believe that Devin Hester will be starting or that contract we just gave him would be ridiculous for just a kick return man. He's expected to do big things at the WR position. Now its Rashied and Devin, one more.. Were left with Brandon Rideau, Brandon Lloyd, Mike Hass, and Mark Bradley. Though I love Rideau's potential I'd be surprised if Lovie started him. I think it would be awesome if he did but I just can't see it.. I don't really care about Mike Hass, he does nothing for me.. Cut him.. So that leaves us with Lloyd and Bradley. Well depending on whether or not Bradley can stay healthy, he is a more talented receiver than Brandon Lloyd but both are dangerous with the deep ball. So if he's healthy at the start of the season I'll go with Bradley to round out the starting WR's.. So now we have our three. #1 Mark Bradley- This probably isn't the ideal spot for him, being a number 1 but he has the best chance at excelling at this position because of his size, speed, and athleticism. #2 Rashied Davis- Really good slot receiver; I like him here #3 Devin Hester- He will grow as time goes on and eventually he'll become our #1 or #2 later on.. From there I hope Rideau and Lloyd get some looks in the game when we have our 4 wr sets or just when were subbing.

HE PLAYED? Haha well good.. I didn't get to see the game unfortunately I heard Orton played really well and Kevin Jones had a nice run.

Jerry really needs to stop picking guys coming off injury problems in college. See Mark Bradley, Dusty Davorewhatever (is he alive? I dont even know.) Airease Curie, and now this guy..

Aren't we the oldest offensive line in football?
-
I think people will be severely disappointed if they expect a much better season than we had last year. Our only upgrades are that most everyone is healthy but that never lasts an entire season anyways so you can pretty much throw that out the window.
-
Its going to be worse than last year now that Chris Williams is out for the year. I feel bad for Matt Forte who has to run behind this piece of shit offensive line. Same goes for Grossman and Orton (Whoever is starting).
-
Yeah I'm starting to get pretty good with Earl Bennett too. He's second on the team in yards. I almost always give it to Olsen on post and slant patterns in 3rd down situations but are you having problems with drops with him? He's a beast after the catch but idk why but he's dropping alot of easy passes lately..

I went with Joe Montana because come on now! Brady has a supermodel girlfriend (wife, whatever the hell she is) I just don't think Haine can compete with that.

Well I'm 5 games into the season and Devin Hester already leads the league in receptions with like 37 and yards with 630 ish. He's a freaking beast when you get on a roll with him. Since I can't run the football he has become my main option on offense. I moved him to the number 1 position and just went crazy with slant patterns and he beats his man nearly every time. I got irritated with Orton who was my starting QB for the first three games in which I went 0-3. He had a nice completion % of 61 but he threw too many interceptions and he got sacked alot + his arm strength sucked so I went with Grossman against the Eagles and we've been on a 2 game win streak. He's already surpassed Kyles touchdown and yardage numbers mainly because of the emergence of Devin Hester who's last two games he's been over 200 yards each game! So right now I'm 2-3 in my season and I've got Grossman as my starting quarterback with Forte as my runningback. I've just come to realize that its impossible to run the football. I think Forte has something like 53 yards on 32 carries so far this season which is like a 1.2 ypc or something gay like that. I still can't figure out why my rush offensive rating is still All Madden? idk, go figure with that one. Maybe that other guy is right though. Maybe itll take a half/full season to get used to it but right now things aren't looking so good with the running game. The passing game is fine with me, and the defense is about the same. Haa, the first thing I did when I got the game is go to the rosters of each team and edit all the star players accessories to what they really wear on the football field. That has always been a pet peeve of mine. I hate seeing in the video game, Vince Young wear those white armbands on his elbows when he hasn't worn them since college. I take those off. Same with Hester, the last time he wore white arm sleeves was when he played for Miami. I'd really like it if they'd allow the Bears and other teams as well to wear there actual Team color gloves (or secondary, whatever) which would be orange for the Bears. Devin Hester wears orange gloves but you can't get them in this game which irks me off quite a bit....

I'm having trouble running the ball too. The best I've done so far has been 60 yards in 16 carries with Adrian Peterson and he's the best in the game!!!! I have yet to get 100 yards with a running back and I'm beginning to get irritated because then you change into a one dimensional team that has to pass all the time and the ONLY time you run the ball is on 1st downs and 3rd and shorts.. It was hard to run the ball last year and even harder this year. They lightened up the passing game, I think its a ton easier now to pass on slants. I got 175 yards with Hester today.. My difficulty is set to my style and I still don't really get what that does. Is it suppose to exploit my weaknesses based on my skill level?

Yeah I wish they'd think outside the box and have some games on the Fox network with different guys announcing each game. Then on MNF they'd have it on ESPN with the crew. How hard can that be? If you want to go realistic then you create an environment that makes you feel like your watching it on TV with "Real" people announcing it, and not some nobody we've never heard of. I've only played maybe 5 games on the 360 but I'm already hearing repeats in the commentary.. Thats not good.

I can't say I disagree with them. Our only hope is for Mike Brown to stay healthy and one of our quarterbacks to have a breakout year.. We lost Chris Williams so you can bet our sucky ass offensive line will be worse this year with virtually the same players which really bugs me. I don't think were going to be very good at all maybe 5-11 or 7-9 at best.

I bought it this morning. I think its pretty good but I just don't get whats up with the graphics. I think they've gotten a ton worse from last year. I'm talking about this years NCAA 09 and Madden 09. There is something about them that makes me say "FAKE". Idk, maybe you guys see it differently but the way the qb's throw the ball is the same ole same ole, and Brady and Manning look way way way too skinny and just don't look right at all. Based on first impression I'd give it about a 6/10. I'm disssapointed in the graphics but the gameplay I think has improved quite a bit. I think its easier now to pass the ball but it is still almost impossible to run the ball (If your facing it on a man's difficulty level ). I'll have some more thoughts about it coming up here shortly after I've finished a season.

What happens if Caleb outplays Grossman and Orton throughout the entire preseason? What happens then? Do they start to think about letting this kid start or keep him as the 3rd quarterback regardless of performance?
-
You know that before the year is over Haine is going to make atleast 1 start..
-
Offensive lineman always have problems with injuries but for a rookie to get one this serious without even playing a game yet (And maybe not even 2-3 practices) is very alarming. I was not opposed to drafting Chris with our first round pick, I know what we needed, but whatever.. It is what it is.
-
This is a crude crude joke.
-
I liked Brandon Rideau last year and I like him this year. I hope he makes the team but he needs to have a helluva preseason with all the WR's we got competing for spots.
-
It looks like Forte has the ability to become an all purpose back by means of the running and passing game. Orton put up some average numbers. Unless Rex comes out and throws for an interception or two I don't think Orton really helped or hurt his chances with game 1 (probably helped a little more than anything.) I'd like for game 2 for them to come out and throw for a score early.

If you can't watch the game on TV you might wanna try this link for the radio. Its pretty sweet http://player.play.it/player/player.html?i...onestat=wbbm-am The channel blacked out for me, of course, with my shitty luck.. So I can't watch the game.

Damn, I was dead on with 2 out of 3 predictions. Hurray me!
-
They should have just traded up to get that guy outta Boise State, whatever his name was. He was clearly the best Offensive lineman besides the Michigan guy (I'm having problems with names today..).

Haaa, so Chris Williams is having surgery on his back. Looks like we got another Mark Columbo. Just great......
