  1. The most obvious pick is Chris Williams because he is basically guaranteed a starting position at left tackle unless he's injured or something. This is a good way to start building up a young offensive line, and you can't have enough good offensive lineman, everybody knows that. Depending on what they do with Benson, Forte will be an impact player for the Bears this season. Now I remember watching him play a little bit last year and I remember he had over a 300 yard game with like 4 or 5 touchdowns. I don't know much about his gamebreaking speed but he looks to me like a better version of Thomas Jones. He will push Cedric for a starting spot come training camp and I wouldn't be surprised if he got it. Marcus Monk is someone who can come in without expectations because he is a 7th round pick. He's tall and fast with a good body to catch passes in the redzone. I could see a position where he could come in later in the year as a number 4 receiver and make several nice catches along the way. I'm not really sure about the Bennett kid. I've been reading alot about how he reminds people of Hines Ward because he's got the same body type and is a possession receiver. He may come in and compete for a starting spot from the get go, and there really isn't that much competition with the lack of quality receivers on this team. Booker and Bradley are 2 guys I think that will definitely have starting spots coming into the year with either Hester, Lloyd, or Bennett being the 3rd guy.
  2. Caleb Hanie could make the team as its 3rd quarterback, he had a completion percentage of 64 this past year on a 3-9 team.
  3. I'd probably rate our draft about a C-. I think the grade would have gone up if we woulda draft Mendenhall cuz he will make a more notable impact than a Chris Williams but you can't fault Angelo for drafted a mega need here. I like the Monk pick, hated absolutely hated the tight end pick, and I like the Forte kid. It was either him or Kevin Smith.
  4. I'm intrigued by this Monk guy. He was Mel's ultimate sleeper pick of the draft and has a Randy Moss talent! I'm excited.
  5. Pittsburgh's and KC's were pretty nice. Also I like what Miami is doing with Long and Henne.
  6. A lefty that evidently can throw the ball pretty far from what I've read.
  7. We got Mark Anderson in the 5th, he was pretty good. I would have been A.OK if we'd of drafted a lineman; atleast we need some people to fill those holes; there isn't a hole to be filled at the Tight End position.
  8. Well I was just curious. Was there any part of what I said above that was wrong? Do we really need to waste a pick on a tight end? Don't we need to address more important positions?
  9. Tight End is the last thing in the world that this team needs. We don't need a freaking 3rd string Tight End in the 5th round of the draft. You can find them scrubs in free agency. We have Clark and Olsen, I could think of plenty of positions that we could use an upgrade on like Offensive Line, Quarterback, Wide Receiver.... This was thee absolute worst possible position you could draft for.
  10. I gave him the benefit of the doubt before but for freak sake, a Tight End is THE LAST freakin THING IN THE WORLD THAT WE NEED! God damn now he's starting to really piss me off and I'm becoming very agitated
  11. What in the hell is Angelo thinking? WHY IN THE BLUE HELL ARE WE DRAFTING A TIGHT END!!!!
  12. freak, the Steelers just took Dixon, damn you Bears!
  13. Sounds like this guy is going to be more of a special teams player with the way he hits.
  14. Hopefully we will have a shot at getting either Dennis Dixon or Colt Brennan with our surplus of picks now.
  15. I don't know, I'll give JA the benefit of the doubt because he found the best kick returner of all time in the 3rd round and it was actually someone I wanted so bad but doubted we would get him.
  16. Having a young and healthy offensive line is essential in the NFL; it was a very needy pick for us so I can't really have any gripes.. I think the Bears got exactly who they wanted all along and I'm somewhat shocked Williams was there at 14.
  17. Darn.. Okay, so my next target is Dennis Dixon.
  18. Any one know if that Simpson kid outta Coastal Carolina went yet?
