  1. Resign Briggs, go after Derrick Anderson, draft Colt Brennan, sign Berrian and possibly Mike Brown. I guess I could live another season with Cedric as our starting running back if this is the route we take, were unlikely to have the money to sign a Michael Turner who is going to demand a nice paycheck. Start Anderson, let Colt Brennan sit a year and then start working him towards becoming a starter down the road.
  2. Its also good to see Rashard getting some love! We need to go offensive lineman in the first round. Maybe we can nab Colt Brennan in the 2nd round, doubtful
  3. Wow, he didn't waste much time in Atlanta did he?
  4. Ew, Matt Ryan. I see a lot of Jason White in this kid which means he's gonna suck..
  5. Well Benson has a year to prove himself. If he doesn't rush for 1,000 yards or more then I'd call him a dissapointment. Too early to say right now in only week 1 but there can still be reason for concern. I've always been a Benson backer myself but he can't get complacent about his starting spot because its a "What have you done for me lately" league as they always say. I'd like to see him get a little more shake in his bake, he puts his head down and tries to kill people too often. If you ever wondered why the Jones/Benson combo worked well its because you had two totally different backs. Both were strong in their physique but different runners. Jones would juke and jive, I myself think he did it a little too much, but then you had Benson who would spell TJ and run through defenders; softening them up if you will. I know everyone wants to be the "Featured" back but there aint nothin wrong about sharing some time with another back to get some rest or to change things up. Even LT shares a small bit of time with Michael Turner who is more of a power/speed back.
  6. I think so too. In fact I said it before the season when we were talking about if so and so gets injured he'll be done with the Bears. Brown and Dusty were the two I mentioned. Dusty mainly because we have depth at his position and same with Brown but we cannot replace a Mike Brown. The only reason Brown will be done is because the Bears cannot invest in this guy anymore, not with the cap situation, and not with a guy 31 years old thats been injured for the year 3 out of the last 4 seasons. I feel for this guy and now I know a little bit more of why these guys get paid big money. There putting their lives on the line every night, how many workers can say that? With the Everrett situation its makes it easier for me to see why people get alot of money in the NFL.
  7. O, well in that case I think probably Tommie Harris.
  8. I saw Urlacher with the "C" on his jersey which means captain. I didn't know there were two?
  9. The way he sounded in the locker room makes you think its worst than a Knee sprain and that his career is over, thus eluding to those types of statements.
  10. IIRC the odds are pretty bad that we get back to the superbowl or even the NFC Championship game. See Seattle of last year and others previous. It doesn't look very good. With that said im not close to worried about this being a down year yet. Still plenty of games to see how this turns out.
  11. Daniel Manning isn't a great cover safety. He's a hybrid between a safety and a corner. He is extremely fast and is a pretty good hitter. Idk if he's going to cut it starting in place of Brown but he's probably our next best option. I wish it were McGowan because I like him but he hasn't had a very good start to the NFL season/preseason. The loss of Mike Brown will be heavily felt because he's the emotional guy on this defense. Dusty I really could care less about. We have Walker in place of him.
  12. Mike Brown = Knee Sprain, which means his career is basically over with the Bears you would think. Can't lean on this guy forever. I guess he broke down when talking to the media, tune into Comcast, its up real soon.
  13. Grades: WR's: C- QB: C+ RB: D- OL: D Offense: D CB's: C+ Safeties: B- LB's: B- DL: A- Defense: B+ For the first 3 and a half quarters we shut down there running game but Gates really killed us so thats why the grades dropped a tid bit. Harris was awesome and the Linebackers were kinda meh but did good. 3 up 3 down: UP- Berrian, Clark, Arch Down- Benson, OL, Hester??
  14. Bettis thinks the Bears and Chargers will be in the superbowl against each other.
  15. He said that he took it to help recover from his Diabetes and to lead a better life. Makes sense, I guess..
  16. Leak has been very efficient with the ball. Reminds me of a much more accurate Kyle Orton his rookie year. He does all those dump off passes and fade routes that don't get alot of yardage but it still can work. This guy just by tonights performance has earned a spot on atleast the taxi squad, maybe number 3 down the line after Griese leaves. I really like how he presents himself. He isn't scared of making a mistake as you saw on that fabulous pass and catch by Mike Hass, you gotta like that in a rookie. Right now he's 12 for 17
  17. That 15 is pretty awful, Leak shouldn't have gotten an interception on that pass. Poor hands.
  18. Holy hell that Ball kid just made a fantastic one handed snare. It doesn't count because it was out of bounds but my god was that a great catch. It was a legit one HANDED grab, not one of those curl it into your body catches. Too bad it wasn't in bounds. EDIT: Just as I say that Mike Hass makes an amazing grab of his own but this one is for a touchdown. He made a leap to the sideline and jumped up and caught it over this dudes helmet. Reminded me of a little Tyrone Prothro catch of NCAA last year but not as good.
  19. Its pretty clear that the Bears didn't really much care about this game.
  20. 1 series for the starters.. I didn't even notice if Tommie Harris was in?
