I just get tired of seeing the way we don't repay success, atleast right now its looking that way. How in the hell can't we have a contract in place for Lovie Smith who took us to the Superbowl and how can we not give Rivera a fair deal? I just don't get it. I know we don't want to overpay but for god sakes when you go to the superbowl my best guess is you should try to keep everyone together and it doesnt look like it's heading that way, thats all im saying.

What a joke this Bears organization is... Absolutely a flat out joke.

Lol I never thought of that, good point. It would have definitley pushed back his development and now im glad we didn't take Randel El in retrospect because we have the best returner of all time (Already) in Devin Hester.

I choose THA YAIDERS!!!! Er Raiders lol if I can't be them then I want the Bucs

Paul Posluszny is a pretty damn good linebacker, defenintley worthy of a first round pick. He had an off senior year because his team went from a 4-3 to a 3-4 and he was coming off that broken knee cap I think it was from last year's bowl game against Florida State.

Nope, it was in Chicago I remember the game. We got killed by T.O and the Eagles... That was when T.O did his 6 sit ups in the endzone for his 6 TD catches in the season.

Hey we should have a mock draft like we did in basketball last year where we draft just the first 2 rounds of players and we can make trades and stuff. I think It'd be sweet! ADMIN EDIT: Here's how it works, if you're interested, sign-up in this thread. If we have enough interest, we'll get it going. And if need be, some might have more than 1 team. What would happen is each person picks a team, and they control all of that team's draft rights in the mock draft. The team picking will be on the 23rd of February and the Official Mock Draft will be at the beginning of March. Lol thats what I was wondering, he would have won it! And yes Devin Hester is for real. If Lovie can transform him into a dominant cornerback, we have ourselves the next Deion Sanders with better return skills!

We don't need an offensive lineman in the 1st round. There are plenty of good ones that can come out in later rounds like 3-7.

I know it's been a problem but after watching clips of him doing well almost always he has stepped into his throw. The only one I can remember where he didn't was that touchdown to Rashied Davis against the Bills where he kept going backwards until he fired it in to Davis in a tight spot that wound up being a touchdown. I hope Rex learns from this and starts to work really hard this offseason to get better at this.

I wouldnt be object to bringing in David Carr to compete but It would be kind of hard when you already have Griese and im pretty sure none of those 3 would want to be a 3rd string quarterback. So If Carr is brought in, Griese or Grossman got to go so I'd take option B and just forget about Carr although I wouldnt be mad if we got him. He was the number 1 pick and he has had a god awful offensive line during his career.

I was watching clips from the superbowl and from other games and I noticed a flaw in Grossman's game that if he corrects he will become a "Great" quarterback. That flaw was "stepping up in the pocket and into your throw". If you have seen Rex whenever he steps into his throw it is almost always complete. In the superbowl he stepped up in the 4th quarter and zipped it to Moose for a 25 yard pickup. I realize it isn't always possible to step up when you have a tackle coming right at you but Rex routinely (sp?) throws off his back foot or doesnt step at all and if so its with minimal effort. I think if he works on this and steps up IN PRESSURE it will help him soooo much so that he will become a great quarterback, like top 10ish.. This is so important because a guy like Rex has the long ball mentality and if you noticed from his earlier games vs the packers and lions he stepped up with that first touchdown of the season to Bernard Berrian and again in that game against the lions where Berrian dove about 5 yards to catch it. I just kept seeing completion after completion when he steps into his throw. That's why Tom Brady is so good, even with pressure he moves his feet just a little to step into his throw and he completes most of his passes. I believe that if he gets used to stepping up and even scrambling on ocassions to pick up 5-10 yards instead of a 3rd and long situation he can become a very good quarterback in this league and will bring consistency. What do you guys think? Am I right about this?

Is he a free agent?

Could the problem with QB be the QB Coach?
Bears4Ever_34 replied to BearSox's topic in Soldier Field
probably part of it, but the problems go beyond that. -
Nah, It's Lovie's defense anyways..
-
Its a smart decision, but he aint injured.

Who's better? Mike Brown or Bob Sanders?
Bears4Ever_34 replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Soldier Field
Actually I think we have our other saftey on our roster if Brown can't play. That is Brandon Mcgowan. Yeah he has been injured to but when he was healthy he was a dominant run stopper and I can remember that game against Pittsburgh last season he had 11 tackles and most were from the run or open field tackles. -
nah, Rex needs a guy that fits his style. He just needs to get more experience and take whats there. Peyton Manning is a deep ball thrower too but as you saw in the Superbowl he took what we gave him and thats what Rex HAS to do next year. If the dump off to the RB is there give it to him. Hell I couldn't believe that Addai had like 10 catches already in the 3rd quarter when that stat popped up in the superbowl. Rex has to get from play action to making his reads and depending if the Linebacker vacates or not you either throw it down the middle to the TE or throw to the RB in the flat or go deep to another set of receivers. Thats ALL Manning did the other day. He just read and reacted. When you saw Urlacher go back he just threw it underneath to Harrison or Clark or if Urlacher stayed put he just tossed it to Addai running straight up the left side of the field or threw it medium length to Wayne. Its all about how Rex works on this in the summer. He can be successful in this offense but Turner's play calling not overall style is whats hurting Grossman. Its so ignorant and I have always hated this, when you throw on first and get 0 yards you NEVER run the next play. It forces you into 3rd and medium, or 3rd and long situations that every Quarterback hates. You may get lucky ever once in a while but the chances are against you. I'd also like to see us run more screen passes this season and work on it in preseason. We need to develop a variety of plays that we master like Indy. How many times did you think there run plays looked like they were mistakes but in reality they were all different varieties of runs. We dont do enough of that especially when we had two different backs in Benson and Jones. It will be interesting to see what we do this summer in training camp and see late in preseason how good our offense can be, we already know how dominant our D will be when Harris and Brown are back.

Indy? Tennesse? Atlanta? No way, Joseph Addai has a brighter future than Thomas Jones and they also got another solid guy Dominic Rhodes, also Tenesse has Travis Henry who was stunning in the final 6 games of the year, I think he is clearly better than Jones and finally there is no way in hell Jones starts over Warrick Dunn. Jerrious Norwood is also waiting in the wings.

Who's better? Mike Brown or Bob Sanders?
Bears4Ever_34 replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Soldier Field
Really? wow, I thought this would be a good argument but it seems to be a bit lopsided, Sanders had an interception, a forced fumble and multiple times he hit a receiver for dropped balls. He just seems like an MVP canidate the more I actually watch him. Colts fans were right, he IS the difference in their defense. I love Mike Brown but to me Bob Sanders is atleast up there with his level of play if not better IMHO. Maybe its because I haven't seen him play in a while but our run defense defenatley took a hit when he left. Don't question my Bears Loyalty, Im a die hard Bears fan through thick and thin! -
Woops, my fault, what I meant to say, I was in the middle of two thoughts. I was saying, If he would have placed a stronger pass to Berrian and lead him to the outside it would have been a touchdown. And he should have thrown it to the inside of Moose instead of outside where the corner or saftey was (Forget which one). Sorry for the confusion.

Lol, he aint hurt he is just pissed about losing. Thats alright....

Who's better? Mike Brown or Bob Sanders?
Bears4Ever_34 replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Soldier Field
But Sanders, my god the kid just flat out makes plays and at the highest level as we saw in the playoffs. We haven't seen that from Mike Brown yet cuz he was injured on the first play against the Panthers last year and he got hurt this year. Sanders is more athletic and faster than Brown and just as tough. He is a great run stopper and has great instincts to hit the receiver as he catches it making him either drop it or fail to get yards after the catch. -
If he didn't throw those 2 interceptions and those were completions, the game was ours. He had Berrian WIDE open on the slant and if he threw it to the inside with less hang time that would have been caught for a big gain. It just wasn't meant to be.

Bears4Ever_34 replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Soldier Field
There both similar types of players, hard hitters, run stoppers.. Good in the passing game although Sanders is probably a bit better at that. Yes, If Brown wasn't injured It'd might sway my decision but both are ball hawks and are ALWAYS around the ball.
