  1. Wow. I hope we keep Marty for the long term. He's been one of the few finds from the Phil Emery era. He's transformed himself into a top 3 TE. No real reason to get rid of him now, IMO. It's not like the Bears won't have the money to spend either..
  2. I was actually kind of hoping he'd get one more opportunity at ILB since the guys in there now aren't doing much of anything. I understand the move, though. Can't keep you on the roster if you can't stay healthy. Wonder what we got for him.
  3. Jon Bostic now traded to the Patriots. Pace wheeling and dealing. Willie Young next?
  4. Despite lacking talent across the board, I like the way the coordinators, minus the shitty special teams guy, mold their gameplans based on the opponent. Each week they stress something new. I thought the defense did a fantastic job staying discipline in their rush lanes versus Russell Wilson. That NEVER would have happened under Mel Tucker. The LB'ers weren't overrunning plays and they kept Wilson from finding the edge when he wanted to scramble. They never lost contain and even forced him to take a few sacks in the pocket when it broke. That's a sign of improvement for sure. Offensively, Gase went with some heavy personnel and bullied Seattle's front 7 most of the 1st half getting solid yards on the ground. Seattle was able to get that figured out in the 2nd half once they figured out Jimmy Clausen couldn't throw, but I still can appreciate the cleverness of Gase and his ability to adapt. Again, that's not something we would have ever seen under Trestman or any other coordinator that's ever been here, really. When Cutler gets back, I would like to see them get Bennett involved in the passing game more. Let's see what he can do lined up as a WR from time to time. The Bears have nobody there without Alshon Jeffery. Royal is a slot guy, Bellamy and Wilson can't create separation.
  5. Is he a safety? Rolle and Amos have been fine so far this year, but beyond those two, there is no depth behind them.
  6. Anybody else notice John Fox blowing off Pete Carroll there at the end of the game. CBS didn't catch all of it, but it looked like there wasn't much of a handshake after the game. Fox was pissed about something. May have been the challenge.
  7. As mentioned in the GT, Jeff Rodgers is one of the worst special teams coaches in the league. He may be one of the few guys out there who isn't a substantial improvement over Joe Decamillas. I was disappointed when Fox hired him, and that disappointment has been validated before week 4 of the season. There is no excuse for it.
  8. Agreed. No reason why he shouldn't be the starter next week unless Cutler is ready to play. I don't care who you played, zero points is a definite sign your quarterback sucks. There's enough of a body of work to know Clausen isn't NFL material. Give Fales a shot.
  9. Yeah it really does suck to have to play 3 of the 4 best teams in football the first three weeks of the season. Shitty scheduling.
  10. Please just run the clock out, Bears. The D only giving up 19 points is still a morale victory. Don't want to give them more time to allow more points here.
  11. I reallllllly wish they could have called the game at halftime. Would have been much happier.
  12. Ended up being a blowout anyways... Figures.
  13. I'm positive Time Tebow would do better than this.
  14. Can Jimmy Clausen take ANY more time to get to the freakin line to hike the ball? Jesus Christ..
  15. This special teams coordinator is awful. He was ranked near the bottom in the league if I'm not mistaken prior to coming here. No idea why Fox wanted to keep him.
  16. Watching Clausen play is infuriating. We could have Seattle on their heels with a competent QB.
  17. Clausen is god awful. If the Bears had Cutler in this game, we actually might be ahead in this game. Good gameplan by Gase, but they are going to have to throw some balls down field at some point.
  18. I'm fine with a franchise tag, but I think the Bears are in a situation where they almost have to keep him. He's one of maybe 3 or 4 players on this roster who is a young building block for our future. If you want to be like the Packers, the Packers keep their own guys.
  19. Anybody catch the Antrell Rolle show on 670? He essentially called Kyle Fuller out on his work ethic, that he needs to study more film and be a professional. Really concerning stuff for a first round pick. Sounds like he just doesn't really care all that much. Either that, or he's just one of those guys that feels too sorry for himself that he's not playing well.
  20. I've got Oakland as my surprise wildcard team this year, so I don't disagree. That said, it's probably the only winnable game they have on the schedule until after the bye. Fortunately, or not fortunately, I see them stockpiling a few wins at the end of the year when they play Washington, SF, and Tampa.
  21. It's going to be chaos if they lose to Oakland.
  22. QB will forever and always be the most important, so when you have an opportunity to grab a potential franchise quarterback, you take it.
