  1. I just hope he doesn't get fat again.
  2. I really don't get why Bostic is still here. He looked completely lost when he was in there, which wasn't often enough because he's always freakin hurt!
  3. Not the least bit surprising, although I would caution the Bears. Young could still play DE when the Bears go with a 4-3 look. Fangio is a multiple front guy. I imagine his plans for Jared Allen would be similar, as we saw against the Colts. Allen's sack came when he had a hand on the ground. I'd keep Willie Young around unless you can get an unexpected higher draft pick or more valuable player for him.
  4. Serious question, did Zach Miller even see the field at all this pre-season? I can't recall. He made a bunch of plays last year before injuring himself.
  5. He looked good yesterday playing with/against bums. Don't think you can read much into that, but I do know that he looks exceptionally fast to be playing LB'er.
  6. I will be really pissed if Carey doesn't make the cut. He runs like a bat out of hell. I love it. Also, hard to imagine Timu and Terry Williams not making this roster. Just made too many plays to leave off the roster. Jonathon Anderson might even make it. Jon Bostic is about to get cut. What a waste of a 2nd round pick.
  7. My confidence meter with this new regime is getting lower by the day.
  8. A 6th round pick in 2017 for an undrafted FA rookie. What are we doing??
  9. That has the Bears written all over it. They need more big fat guys in the trenches, especially with Ratliff out for a while. Don't think you can just rely on Eddie Goldman.
  10. He is still an elite talent. It's reasonable to think that another team could get more out of him than Jay Gruden did as a starter; which really shouldn't be that difficult to do, considering Jay Gruden did everything in his power to ruin him from Day 1. I could be completely wrong about him, but I wouldn't close the book on him as a potential starter for another team just yet. He's still in his twenties. I think Buffalo would be a great spot for him to land.
  11. I'm willing to admit he might be damaged goods at this point. Maybe he's already been hit too many times, and injuries have taken their toll, but I still don't think it would be that detrimental to sign him off the street for cheap when he eventually gets cut. There's very little downside. If it doesn't work out, he gets cut again. I actually think Adam Gase's offense is a good fit with his skill set. I think his biggest issue is trying to get away from what made him special in the first place, which was the read option. Perhaps he would reconsider when he finds himself looking for a job as a free agent. It could be his last chance to stick on an NFL roster, sadly.
  12. He should be moved to LT, not RT.

I may be the only one who would actually be interested in taking a flyer on him if he gets released by the Redskins. From my perspective, there is absolutely no downside to signing him. And I'm not talking about bringing him to be the starting QB for this year. I'm thinking more along the lines of having him learn the offense for a year as the backup, and then seeing what you got when training camp rolls around next season, whether that's as a starter or backup. This season is going to suck anyways. I'd rather have a potential starter backing up Jay Cutler than Jimmy Clausen, who has zero chance of ever being a full time starter again.
  14. On a positive note, Will Sutton looks like he may be the best Defensive Lineman on the team. He looks Aaron Donald-lite right now. Everytime I see him, he's in the opposing team's backfield making a play. Very impressed with his ability to play the run. That was suppose to be a weakness of his but he's already seemed to adjust well only 2 years into the league. I now have high hopes for him. We need more young guys to step up. This defense lacks building blocks!
  15. The Bears first team offense hasn't scored a touchdown at all in any of these games, and the 2nd half defense hasn't allowed a single point against them. What a weird pre-season. Let's flash forward to round 1 of next year's draft already, please.
  16. Yep, I'm checking out. Can't watch this shit anymore. Looks like a team that could be fighting for the #1 pick this year.
  17. Might have one more series in me. This is garbage.
  18. The offense is unwatchable. This is college level bad. Both tackles are going to be issues this year. I'll keep saying it. Bushrod can't play anymore. They have to move Long and find a replacement at guard.
  19. Our defense is back to being bad again.
  20. Unfortunately, I don't think it's as simple as just saying "Well, lets get the run game going." This is where losing Kevin White really hurts. The Bears can try to get the run game established all they want, but as long as teams don't fear their speed threats on the outside, they are just going to stack 8 or 9 guys in the box and force some of these receivers to beat them deep. It's pretty much the same problem as last year, except much worse since Brandon Marshall is no longer there to be a security blanket.
  21. Yep, I'm already ready for the 2016 Draft. Next season will be the one where we find out how far we are away from competing for a SB.
  22. Tough break for the Pack. Won't matter for the Bears, but this might put a damper on my Packers Super Bowl prediction.
  23. Of course this happens.. Just all the more reason to believe in the Bears chances at a top 5 pick. Worst part of the schedule too. P.S, was the OP thinking of Daniel Radcliffe when he posted this?? =)
  24. Couple more thoughts on the game: - Will Sutton looks really good in a 3-4. Never thought I'd say that, but he has been causing havoc in the opposing team's backfield this pre-season so far. Him and Eddie Goldman both have been exceptionally quick off the snap. I've been really impressed with those two. - Sam Acho has no business playing with the 2nd or 3rd team defense. That man has done enough to earn snaps with the 1st team. He has a very good combination of speed and power, and has shown a knack to cause turnovers in the first two pre-season games. Him being out there also gives the Bears more speed on the perimeter for passing downs. I was surprised when Jared Allen was listed as the starter ahead of him, given that it had been reported most of the off-season that he had been working with the 1's. - We have really good RB depth. I have been very surprised as to how good Jaquizz Rodgers has looked thus far running primarily with the 2's in this offense. He and Kadeem Carey have flashed some quickness and agility running between the tackles. They've also shown the ability to move the pile and fall forward once they break into the 2nd level of the defense. I really hope the Bears decide to keep both of them. I think Rodgers is a lock, along with Langford and Forte, but Carey is too talented to let walk away. - We're going to have problems at LT/RT this year. Bushrod is getting older. Mills and Ola have both proven to be useless at RT. Our best lineman is being wasted at guard. When will they move him to tackle? Bushrod played better than he did against Miami last week, but he's still a guy that you can see getting beat often against the speedier DE's. - McLellin and Christian Jones need some work. The talk in camp so far has been about how well McLellin has played moving to ILB in this 3-4 defense, but these first two pre-season games have shown anything but that. He caught a break yesterday leaving way too much space for TY Hilton to be able to catch a slant route that would have surely gone for big yards. Luckily it was dropped. He had multiple breakdowns last week in pass defense as well. Christian Jones doesn't look comfortable in pass coverage either, and pretty much just looks like a guy out there. Hasn't flashed at all yet, but I suppose that could be expected, given that he is still learning how to play in the NFL, and at a new position. Sidenote-- It was good to see Pernell McPhee get in on the action yesterday. He flashed his pass rushing skills in those first two defensive series.
  25. Dan Durkin tweeted out this morning that after watching the play over again, Amos should have been in the vicinity to help on coverage, but Fuller could have played the route tighter. Yeah, I just am always getting used to seeing Fuller giving up 5-10 yards of space everytime a receiver catches a pass in his area. At some point, he needs to be able to put up some resistance. You can't give these receivers so much space to work with.. especially when you're not the fastest guy in the world either. If he doesn't show up this year, it's going to be a rough ride for our secondary. Some of the experts talk about our lack of depth on the DL, but the back end of our defense is in worse shape.
