  1. I hope he doesn't leave after a year, assuming the offense is worth a crap. That's my only concern. Could be why Fox was hesitant at first.
  2. Ratliff looked like a killer but talked like a gentle giant. I guess I shouldn't be surprised if he was in the middle of some altercation, but I kind of am.
  3. Hard to see how he would need to interview given he's been on Fox's staff the past 4 years. He's got to be getting the job. After Shanahan, there really aren't any other candidates out there that excited me. Would have been nice to see Fox reach out to a college guy, possibly from Oregon and go that route.
  4. I am more excited about this hire than John Fox.
  5. Is this the guy that always gets fined for illegal hits as often as Brandon Merriwether?
  6. This guy is one of the most disliked coaches in sports. Hard to imagine him having another job in the NFL as an OC. He never lasts more than a year. Only person that kept him under control was Belichick.
  7. The Bears might not win a bidding war with Snyder for Fangio, but if job security is an emphasis, then he can't take the Washington job. There is a more than good chance Jay Gruden gets fired next year so he could be looking for another job 12 months from now.
  8. I am a little concerned with what the coordinators are going to be. John Fox was suppose to be able to bring in the best guys for the job yet Vic Fangio (the most qualified DC candidate) looks to be going to WAS while Kyle Shanahan ended up in ATL somehow to work with a first time HC. Not encouraging.
  9. Well he has to be better than Joe D. You can't get much worse than him.
  10. We're running out of options at OC. This is not good. Fox should have hired Shanahan the day he was hired..
  11. What is John Fox doing?? We're going to be left with nothing if Gase goes elsewhere, and I'm not even excited about him..
  12. It's almost universal now from every Chicago beat writer I've seen that believes he's gone. Where there is smoke... I didn't believe it at first, but more people have begun jumping on that bandwagon lately, it almost seems inevitable. He's not a very well liked guy in that locker-room, and the biggest ally he had I'm sure isn't too thrilled with him either after he got thrown under the bus.
  13. I hate both teams but I still felt kind of angry the Packers blew that game. They played like the better team the entire game except for one bad play on the onside kick. Actually two if you count the mind boggling Clinton-Dix play where he just let the ball hang forever instead of getting in front of the receiver to knock it down.. A lot had to go right for Seattle to win that game. Somehow they pulled through.
  14. Momentum has been gaining on Marshall being cut or traded from the Bears for quite some time now, I'd be shocked if he were here next year. The Bears aren't winning anything next year anyways, so it makes little sense to keep him around in a rebuilding year and having to deal with all the extra crap that comes with him. I don't think hiring Fox changes the fact that the Bears are thinking long term with this thing. He's been in this situation twice before. He knows how to turn around teams fast. I'm sure that played a huge role in him getting the job in the first place, knowing that it could be a rough year 1.
  15. I'd take DT once the Bears inevitably get rid of Brandon Marshall, but unfortunately they are in no position to get into a bidding war for any high priced free agent's services. The Bears would be best served taking the approach of the Packers and other great teams that value keeping their own younger guys as opposed to being players in the free agent market every year like the Bears have been. And it's all because of bad drafting.
  16. I would be surprised if the Bears didn't take a DE or LB in the 1st. Fox's first two drafts in his first year with the Panthers and Broncos were Julius Peppers and Von Miller... Pretty good. Fox is known for having a big D-Line and physical man to man corners. He has ran a 2 gap 4-3 scheme like a Greg Blatche. In Denver he went with multiple front looks to take advantage of Von Miller's unique skill set.
  17. For some reason, I confused Mike Munchek (sp?) with Mike Mularkey. I feel a little better now, although I still would really like to see Kyle Shanahan.
  18. Can't let him leave the building! Lock the door and throw some big bags of cash on the table. You know Dan Synder is going to if you don't. Fangio, like Fox, is the obvious hire here for DC as he is the most qualified based on his recent levels of success. Even if they don't hire Fangio, the Bears should be able to bring in a representable DC this year based on the names I've heard being thrown around. I just hope they can get something done with this guy.
  19. I've heard Shanahan, Mularkey, Gase for OC candidates and Dennis Allen, Jim Schwartz, Mike Nolan, and now Vic Fangio for DC candidates. Pretty good list all the way around.
  20. How about he asks me who I want first? I just want to see Shanahan's zone run schemes with Forte and the moving pockets for Cutler. He's a perfect fit.
  21. SIGN THIS MAN NOW! If we got Kyle Shanahan and Fangio, Fox may have assembled one of the best staffs in the business. Fangio's defenses have been in the top 5 every year he's been the DC.
  22. freak Mike Mularkey. They better hire Shanahan.
  23. Weird that it's taking so long to announce it. What is going on?
  24. The Bears really need to wrap this up. Enough with the dithering. They can't wait all day and get stuck with bad assistants!
