B&B keep insisting that the decision has already been made. One of the people at the top (I imagine that would be George?) is sick of his antics and will not tolerate him on the team anymore. So whatever GM/HC comes in will be told to get rid of him and then do whatever they want with Cutler. Hub has pretty much said the same thing. I don't want to believe them because Bernstein seems to have a personal agenda against Marshall (Like he did something to his family type-anger), so It wouldn't surprise me if whatever he was told via sources was sort of twisted into something he wanted to believe. Still.. It's very possible that he's right. I personally don't think it's a necessity to get rid of him. We've seen him behave under Lovie Smith. It wasn't until this past year that things got really bad. Maybe he's already burned too many bridges, I'm not in the lockeroom, but perhaps if they bring in a coach that has some balls and doesn't let people walk all over him, they can get Marshall back under control.

Somebody who runs a 3-4. freak the Cover 2.

I saw somewhere that Bowles prefers Atlanta over all the other jobs. Two names I've heard connected to Ballard are Toub and Frank Reich. One of those two will probably end up as the coach if Ballard is hired, which is what it's looking like as of this moment.
-
Lots of chatter going around that Chris Ballard is going to end up as the GM and Toub will be the HC..
-
I thought about Del Rio until I remembered that he worked with Mel Tucker in Jacksonville. If he kept Mel as DC, I would go nuts.
-
I think he goes late first, but I would definitely grab him in the 2nd if he lasted that long. Kid has talent.

Rumors circulating around that Chip Kelly wants to opt out of his contract after the dismissal of his buddy Tom Gamble. Gamble + Kelly? Too good to be true. I would absolutely love it, but I could see Chip going back to college if there is not a perfect situation out there.
-
I doubt he's retiring anytime soon. He's going to be waiting for a long ass time.
-
So much for that. DeCosta isn't interviewing.. again. I don't get it. Ozzie is 58 and could work for another 12 years. He's going to be waiting for a hell of a long time... Stupid.
-
Don't expect his role to change much unless they bring in a power guy like DeCosta, who is a longshot.
-
I've been turned off by him ever since there were whispers of laziness. A guy who doesn't like to do all the work is what was said. Forget where it came from but it was back when the Bears were set to interview him 3 years ago.
-
Anxiously awaiting word as to whether or not DeCosta will accept an interview. We just need to get the guy in the building. Don't fail us now George!
-
Sounds like he and the Jets have mutual interest.
-
Heard the Bears at least expressed interest in Decosta

If you give him enough money and power I don't think he would turn it down. Ozzie is only like 58. He could still be the GM for the next 10 years. How long does this guy want to wait for? -
I wish.. Polian hasn't seemed interested in getting back in to the day to day stuff. I'm sure he would have considered a consultant role, but the Bears went with another guy instead..

Gaze and Bowles HC interviews permission requests

Rex Ryan better be on that list! They need to move quickly on the coaching front before they are on to their 2nd or 3rd option. I like Bowles. I really have no desire to hire Gase unless he brings Manning with him.. -
Don't know if it was reported elsewhere but Rapaport said Emery was not well liked by everybody in that building because he was often difficult to work with, which I could totally see. Also, maybe we should have hired Rod Marineli as a consultant.
-
Doesn't want to deal with his incompetency and Bears weirdness. DeCosta would only come to a team with a promotion to president. He's already the GM in waiting in Baltimore so you are going to have to give him a bigger job and more money to lure him away.
-
Of course..
-
Tom Gamble is my #1 choice. It's a joke that he's not even on this list. Easily the most qualified GM candidate out there right now.
-
No Tom Gamble or Eric DeCosta? Typical Bears.. What a rotten list. I fear this level of badness will continue for another half decade.
-
I'd rather they talk to Bill Polian but better than nothing..
-
Same old Bears..

There is no way in hell they are keeping Tucker around to interview for a HC job. He has been fired, along with all other coaches. George just fired the GM and HC, it should be implied that the coaches are done too.

Clausen scored 3 less points than Cutler did against Detroit this season. You'd have to clarify your definition of "success" on that one. He looked competent. That's about it. McCown was great last year but it was clearly an outlier. And Trestman's history suggests that he won't last more than 2 years in Tampa if that's where he ends up. Year 1 is always great, followed by a disastrous year 2. He probably deserves a job as a QB coach, but I wouldn't hire him as an OC.
