Marc and Lovie together? Lol
-
I really hope that they can convince Bill Polian to be team president. Even if it's only as a temporary consultant, fine, but he's one guy that I could trust that knows how to build teams. Not so much with Holmgren.
-
If Phil Emery is picking.
-
This miserable season is now officially over. Can't believe they actually lost this game. So much happier..
-
I freakin hate this team. The one time they don't need to get a stop, they do.
-
Tampa Bay is killing New Orleans. Wow. The Bears are going to fall all the way to #11 with a win it feels like. Would be so typical of this team.
-
Still have no idea how Minnesota has 6 wins. This is two games now where they can't move the ball against the worst defense in football.
-
Yeah it was a piece written by Lawrence Holmes. I brought it up the day it came out because it made a lot of sense. I liked Johnny Manziel coming out of college, but this theory applies to him now, too, as a guy who had to do everything for his team. We'll see if he suffers from some of the same problems as Jay. So far he's been downright awful.
-
Not convinced. Does anybody really think they are going to fire Phil Emery 3-4 days after signing somebody to an extension, albeit a small one? I just don't see it but I'd love to be wrong. Doesn't make any sense for them to allow Emery to make moves for 2015 if he's still being evaluated.
-
#1- Garza has been terrible for 5 years, and is not a starting center at this stage of his career anymore. This extensions makes no sense.. #2- Why is this Bears front office making moves for next season already. This tells me that Emery is coming back. If he was going to be fired, you'd think he wouldn't be allowed to make such a move.. This is so depressing..

11th is the worst they can do, and it's not likely that the worst case scenario will play out because ATL, NO, and the Giants all have to lose.
-
Trestman is such an idiot. Play the damn kid, you don't want to win this game! Hopefully Cutler is still shell shocked and throws up a couple more INT's to Harrison Smith.. I believe they are 7 point favorites if I'm not mistaken. So at least we have that going for us. As mentioned before, if we win, the best case scenario is still for New Orleans to win against Tampa (which should happen), Atlanta to beat Carolina, and the Giants to beat Philly. I think the odds are in our favor that at least 1 of the 3 will happen, and my guess is 2 of them will. If that's the case, the Bears would be drafting #9.
-
Only as a last resort. He would probably bring Gary Kubiak with him as an OC, or his son, one of the two. He's a good coach, but hiring him means they are still basing their HC search on a guy that "Can get something out of Cutler". I'm tired of that. Bring in 1- Harbaugh 2- Rex Ryan 3- Todd Bowles 4- Kevin Sumlin 5- David Shaw That'd be my list as of this moment. Shanahan would probably be 5th or 6th.
-
Minnesota has a weaker strength of schedule so they would be ahead of us in the draft order. We gotta lose next week! Pissed me off that they choked away the game against Miami. It's almost like they are actively tanking out there. Damn near lost to the Jets too.
-
Oops I meant they'd be drafting behind us. :/
-
Carolina is going to draft ahead of us regardless of next week's outcome. They would be 6-9-1 at worst. You're right about the first part, though. We need Atlanta to win and take the division as well as New Orleans to beat Tampa Bay in week 17. We'd be at #9 then. Hell, the way the Eagles are playing the Giants could pull an upset and finish 7-9, which means the Bears would go from #7 to #8 with a win. That's the best case scenario if we win.. A tie with Minny would keep us at #7 I believe since we'd still only have 5 wins.
-
Is there a site that shows strength of schedule? I can't find any statistic that shows it.
-
Wow, the Vikings are so damn bad. Completely choked against the Dolphins down the stretch. No way the Bears lose to them next week. They have got to be the worst 6 win team I've ever seen.
-
Jeffery played like he wanted to get out of the game healthy. Not a very good season overall for him. He has to be near the league lead in dropped passes, especially after today. I counted at least 4. Also, really great week for our draft position with this loss. Atlanta wins, Carolina wins, and Minnesota is winning late against Miami.
-
Typical Bears winning games they need to lose.. Nobody better in the league at it. They'll probably finish 7-9.

Hideous throw by Stafford.

Rumor: Bears / Titans Reach Agreement on Cutler
Bears4Ever_34 replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
This rumor appears to have some legs. Ian Rappaport reporting that the Titans are currently doing their homework on Cutler to prep for a possible deal in the off-season. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000044...jay-cutler-deal -
Don't think he was ever going to be fired, but it doesn't mean they won't find a replacement for him in regards to football decisions. Boers and Bernstein said last week that Ted himself wouldn't mind somebody doing the football stuff. He'd rather stick to business.

Rumor: Bears / Titans Reach Agreement on Cutler
Bears4Ever_34 replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
Yeah, no way the Bears would be dumb enough to throw in a 2nd or 3rd round pick just to get rid of Cutler in a trade. If they wanted him gone bad enough they could just cut him. I think giving up a pick to get rid of a player is unprecedented in the NFL. Don't believe it's ever happened. -
Hub Arkush: Could Mike Holmgren be on Chicago Bears' list?
Bears4Ever_34 posted a topic in Bearstalk
More at link http://chicagofootball.com/2014/12/18/hub-...-list/akjn3ia/# A lot of us have been asking for a football czar. Didn't think it was possible that ownership would be smart enough to recognize this, but apparently the chatter has already started. Holmgren was pretty much a disaster with Cleveland though as their President of Football operations man, so I don't really like hearing his name. Still, hearing this is at least a step in the right direction if they have finally figured out that something like this needs to happen.
