  1. Don't expect his role to change much unless they bring in a power guy like DeCosta, who is a longshot.
  2. I've been turned off by him ever since there were whispers of laziness. A guy who doesn't like to do all the work is what was said. Forget where it came from but it was back when the Bears were set to interview him 3 years ago.
  3. ‏ Anxiously awaiting word as to whether or not DeCosta will accept an interview. We just need to get the guy in the building. Don't fail us now George!
  4. Sounds like he and the Jets have mutual interest.
  5. If you give him enough money and power I don't think he would turn it down. Ozzie is only like 58. He could still be the GM for the next 10 years. How long does this guy want to wait for?
  6. I wish.. Polian hasn't seemed interested in getting back in to the day to day stuff. I'm sure he would have considered a consultant role, but the Bears went with another guy instead..
  7. Rex Ryan better be on that list! They need to move quickly on the coaching front before they are on to their 2nd or 3rd option. I like Bowles. I really have no desire to hire Gase unless he brings Manning with him..
  8. Don't know if it was reported elsewhere but Rapaport said Emery was not well liked by everybody in that building because he was often difficult to work with, which I could totally see. Also, maybe we should have hired Rod Marineli as a consultant.
  9. Doesn't want to deal with his incompetency and Bears weirdness. DeCosta would only come to a team with a promotion to president. He's already the GM in waiting in Baltimore so you are going to have to give him a bigger job and more money to lure him away.
  10. Tom Gamble is my #1 choice. It's a joke that he's not even on this list. Easily the most qualified GM candidate out there right now.
  11. No Tom Gamble or Eric DeCosta? Typical Bears.. What a rotten list. I fear this level of badness will continue for another half decade.
  12. I'd rather they talk to Bill Polian but better than nothing..
  13. There is no way in hell they are keeping Tucker around to interview for a HC job. He has been fired, along with all other coaches. George just fired the GM and HC, it should be implied that the coaches are done too.
  14. Clausen scored 3 less points than Cutler did against Detroit this season. You'd have to clarify your definition of "success" on that one. He looked competent. That's about it. McCown was great last year but it was clearly an outlier. And Trestman's history suggests that he won't last more than 2 years in Tampa if that's where he ends up. Year 1 is always great, followed by a disastrous year 2. He probably deserves a job as a QB coach, but I wouldn't hire him as an OC.
  15. I really hope that they can convince Bill Polian to be team president. Even if it's only as a temporary consultant, fine, but he's one guy that I could trust that knows how to build teams. Not so much with Holmgren.
  16. This miserable season is now officially over. Can't believe they actually lost this game. So much happier..
  17. I freakin hate this team. The one time they don't need to get a stop, they do.
  18. Tampa Bay is killing New Orleans. Wow. The Bears are going to fall all the way to #11 with a win it feels like. Would be so typical of this team.
  19. Still have no idea how Minnesota has 6 wins. This is two games now where they can't move the ball against the worst defense in football.
  20. Yeah it was a piece written by Lawrence Holmes. I brought it up the day it came out because it made a lot of sense. I liked Johnny Manziel coming out of college, but this theory applies to him now, too, as a guy who had to do everything for his team. We'll see if he suffers from some of the same problems as Jay. So far he's been downright awful.
  21. Not convinced. Does anybody really think they are going to fire Phil Emery 3-4 days after signing somebody to an extension, albeit a small one? I just don't see it but I'd love to be wrong. Doesn't make any sense for them to allow Emery to make moves for 2015 if he's still being evaluated.
