McCown has been everything we could have hoped for and more out of a backup. You don't want your backup to be the reason you lose games, and so far that's been the case. Unfortunately because of how bad the defense is, the Bears quarterback probably has to be the reason they win games, and that hasn't been McCown either.

To think all of this could have been avoided had Trestman just went ahead and did the sensible thing and not started Jay against Detroit where he was clearly not healthy... Sigh..

Games like these make me question as to whether or not he's more of an OC than a HC. He will get the benefit of the doubt because it's his first year, but he has already cost his team 2 games this year because of his decision making. That's the difference between making the playoffs and missing the playoffs.

You don't freakin settle for a 47 yard Game winning FG with at least 2 downs to play with. If you lose yardage on two consecutive plays, you suck. Had the kick been inside of 40, kicking it would be understandable. Not 47. That is so damn conservative.
