Jeffery looks bigger, in a good way.
-
I am unfamiliar with the timeline on when this all took place before it became a huge story, so I may have jumped out on a limb there. I thought he got in trouble last week for something else too, I could be wrong. The Tebow decision could have had a lot to do with Gronkowski's long list of surgeries this offseason as well. I can't fathom how he'd want anything to do with Tebow taking away reps from one of the greatest quarterbacks to have ever played.
-
He also hired a cleaning lady before the cops searched his home. This makes me wonder if Belichick had Tebow in mind all along to play TE, where he probably should be.

The season hasn't started yet. A lot can happen between now and week 1. Webb won't be handed anything. I'm quite sure a new coaching staff will want players to earn the starting job, and Webb will have to do just that in order to become a full time starter.
-
Meh, I'll wait until the season gets going to determine if it was a success or not. I wasn't particularly enthused with the Bushrod or Bennett signing, and the draft leaves me with a lot of question marks, just as it did last year.
-
I could have sworn there were medical red flags about his knee before the draft. Perhaps I am mis-remebering.
-
He had an injury history in college, too, so it's not like this came out of left field. Chris Williams was the same way.
-
Chalk up another bust for Jerry Angelo. Good move to get something in return though. He clearly wasn't in their plans for the future.
-
2004 might have been the worst year of quarterbacks the Bears have ever had. I cannot recall a more painful year.
-
Can't hurt to give him a tryout. The Bears aren't exactly deep at the position as it is.
-
It is his second arrest of the off-season, so he's obviously not staying out of trouble. He shouldn't be putting himself into these positions in the first place. I'm all for taking chances on players with questionable character, but when a pattern is developed early, and that player is kind of a scrub, my tolerance level for that kind of behavior is pretty low. Meanwhile, Emery's draft last year is kind of looking like it sucked. Alshon Jeffery is about the only pick that is looking halfway decent at this point.

I'm all for second chances.. Even third chances if you're really really good, but this was Rodriguez's second chance that he blew if you count the charges that were dropped from his first arrest a few months back. I don't care what they do with him, but if they cut him, I can't say they didn't give him a shot to prove himself. It's simple, just stop getting into trouble. Time to grow up and start acting like a real adult with responsibilities. I have no sympathy for people who act like idiots when under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

Very likely he will never put on a uniform for the Bears again. It's a shame too because the kid has talent.
-
Don't forget about AJ Jenkins. I have a feeling he will fit in right along with Kaepernick and that high-powered offense. They'll definitely take a small step back without their best receiver, but they can still shred you on the ground just as easily. If he's still working out on his own, he's probably just as likely to injure himself, especially if it's an achilles. Those things just go.
-
Looks like he'll be back for training camp. Hopefully he'll have a long, healthy career.
-
Looks like he should have took the money Emery offered, although I think we'll be just fine w/o him. Great player. HOF Player. Father time just caught up with him.
-
He'll be cut at some point. It's just a matter of when.
-
There's also this: Not sure what it means, if anything, but surprising to hear he's not attending.
-
Detroit cut ties with him months ago, smartly enough. He's a free agent now, but these incidents probably just ended his career.
-
Did he get arrested a 3rd time already? I remember hearing he got arrested twice within 15 hours or something but I didn't know he got caught again. What a loser.
-
He was a reach because he projected as the 6th or 7th best OL in the draft that you took in the first round when you had guys like Eiffert, Ogletree, and others that were left on the board as #1 or #2 at their positions. The Bears chose to go for need rather than go with the best guy. I still have my doubts how Long even made it as far as he did, based off 5 career starts at a major college.

Oh god no. Arena Football would be the WORST option of them all; even worse than the NFL. Arena football is a league predicated on timing and accuracy. The game is faster, and the shortness of the field, with less ground to cover, necessitates quarterbacks who can fit a ball through small windows and deliver it on time. That is not Tim Tebow.
