They should just move Long to RT and let him develop next to James Brown, who by all accounts, has been a beast this offseason. The Bears might have plans to move Long to LT in a couple years when Bushrod goes bad. I actually think it could be a lot sooner than that, because I have little to no faith in Bushrod to hold the fort down.

The scheme Cutler was in with the Broncos was unique to Mike Shanahan & Gary Kubiak, so it's not the same ZBS that Kromer runs. From what I have read, it certainly sounds like the Trestman offense is one of the most complex in the NFL. Curious to know how it compares to Mike Martz, who was notorious for running an offense that was difficult to grasp. These 4 pre-season games will be helpful in determining whether or not the offense has the basic principles down, because that's all we will get to see, according to Trestman. A lot of vanilla.

Excited to see what Joe Anderson is made of now that he will be replacing Earl Bennett on the depth chart, at least for the pre-season opener.

Hate to see any guy go down for the season. Hopefully Frey is ready to be the starting nickel. Our depth in the secondary isn't all that great.

It could be just me, but it sure seems like Cutler has been throwing an inordinate amount of interceptions thus far during the offseason, albeit in training camp. The bulk of them coming from the 1st play of practice! I don't know what to make of it. Should we be worried that he's not adjusting to the system very well? Or is this just something you can sweep under the rug because it's meaningless, and QB's like to test their limits during practices? The defense has clearly been light years ahead of the offense so far in camp, but I'm curious to see if the offense will ever come around before the start of the season. We all know that Trestman's offense is one of the most complex to learn. I just have this sinking feeling that Cutler might not be the right man for this offense. He's never been a guy who gets rid of the ball quickly. I guess we'll just have to wait and see..

Earl might be in for a short career if he keeps this up, unfortunately. He never stays healthy.

What Lovie was doing wasn't working. Missing the playoffs 5 of the last 6 years is unacceptable. Whether Emery made the right choice with Trestman remains to be seen, but the Lovie firing was the absolute right thing to do.

Saw that picture the other day. Apparently he's not as big as that picture makes him look, though it's clear he's still way out of shape. I laugh because from that angle, he literally looks like an offensive lineman. Strong dreamer bulk right there!

Joe Anderson has supposedly had a pretty good camp so far. I'm driving that bandwagon.

I don't like the sound of that, but it is early.

What's up with the Bears losing young players to retirement only a month or two after signing a contract? First it was the kid from New York (Thomas?), and now Ellis.

The slotting of draft picks was the best thing they could ever do in the new CBA. I always hated when 1st round picks held out of training camp.

For him, I would imagine it would kind of suck to see the Bears win the Superbowl the year after you just retired. Especially someone who's coming off 13 years spent playing in one uniform.

What day do the Bears open training camp? Is it this week or next?

I would like to see another year of Joe Anderson. I liked what I saw from him last pre-season.

I think the projections for Cutler sound about right. New offense, new teammates, new coach, contract year etc.. I expect more of the same from him when it comes to numbers. Surely they will be a little better than last year with Mike Tice no longer controlling the offense. I say his ceiling is something like 32 TD's, 4,500 yards 17 INT's, and his floor is last year's numbers, which aren't very good. He'll wind up somewhere in the middle: 23 TD's, 3,800 yards 15 INT's

The LB battle interests me the most, as I'm sure it does most people. Between that position, and the offensive line, we'll have plenty of things to look forward to, come training camp. -Will one of the rookie LB'ers get a starting nod over Williams or Anderson? -Will the Long kid be a starter? -Will Shea McClellin finally be a starting DE? -How will Cutler look like in the new offense? -How will Trestman do in a professional locker room? Will he get the respect of the players? -Which unknown guy will come in to camp and win a roster spot? Lots of questions to ponder over the next several months..

Yall don't have to worry about Aaron Hernandez signing with the Bears. He's going to be in prison for the rest of his life. He has to be the absolute dumbest murderer in the history of murderers. I think a 10 year old could solve this case.

Jeffery looks bigger, in a good way.

I am unfamiliar with the timeline on when this all took place before it became a huge story, so I may have jumped out on a limb there. I thought he got in trouble last week for something else too, I could be wrong. The Tebow decision could have had a lot to do with Gronkowski's long list of surgeries this offseason as well. I can't fathom how he'd want anything to do with Tebow taking away reps from one of the greatest quarterbacks to have ever played.

He also hired a cleaning lady before the cops searched his home. This makes me wonder if Belichick had Tebow in mind all along to play TE, where he probably should be.

The season hasn't started yet. A lot can happen between now and week 1. Webb won't be handed anything. I'm quite sure a new coaching staff will want players to earn the starting job, and Webb will have to do just that in order to become a full time starter.
