  1. Gordon hasn't been great, but man, it's gotta be tough coming in to play CB on a team that has noooooo pass rush. That's why I think it's so important to invest heavily into the lines. It all starts up front on both sides. You have good lines and it makes everyone else look better.
  2. That's tough. In this hypothetical, did they get Payne and/or Davenport? In this case, give me option 2, if not give me 1. This team desperately needs an IMPACT guy on the DL.....not a good player...an impact player. Someone that's gonna force teams to pay extra attention to which is gonna open things up for the rest of the defense.
  3. That's actually an interesting question. I absolutely think he's gonna be a monster, but there is a legit question about him as a DE in a 4-3. He's a little undersized, but so is Micah Parsons and he played at an all pro level when asked to play DE. I think if you add a guy like Payne next to him, the defense is gonna have to pick their poison as far as who they are double teaming. If you can get Williams out in some space 1 on 1 he's gonna dominate no matter whether his hands in the ground or not. I haven't paid enough attention to the DL under Flus, because we'll it's been bad, but I do wonder if they are open to having their DE out wide a bit more like Seattle and other teams do/did. I believe they called it a joker DE.
  4. Mile Garrett- 141 tackles 47 TFL 31 Sacks Joey Bosa- 148/51/26 Will Anderson- 204/58/34
  5. I agree with Stinger here. Making Elgton Jenkins your #2 priority behind Payne makes so much sense. Jenkins versatility is huge for all the question marks behind the bears OL. Even if Jones shows up stronger, and Leatherwood proves to be the real deal, Jenkins has played center as well. He's probably gonna get paid like a tackle, but who cares. Now let's say Patrick comes back healthy and looks really good...Well, Jenkins can play LG and you can release Whitehair. White-haired define isn't bad, but Jenkins is an upgrade and there's no shame in upgrading the position while moving on from a guy who is getting a little on the "Old side." At the end of the day you put the best 5 out there, and I'd guarantee Jenkins would be one of those 5....somewhere.
  6. That's a good question. Houston for sure, but they're somewhat irrelevant. They have 2 top 15 picks. Their 2nd pick from Cleveland is currently 13th. It'd be pretty crazy if they fell in love with Will Anderson and a QB and decided to jump back up to 2. I think pick 15 is where I start saying no dice. Indy absolutely should be drafting a QB. Their 1 year retread run has got to end. Atlanta should be looking to upgrade from Mariotta. He's not bad bad, but he's not someone who's gonna take you anywhere. Carolina? PJ Walker and Sam Darnold probably ain't it. Pittsburgh? I think they SHOULD draft one, but I wouldn't be surprised if they wanna give Pickett a 2nd year. Detroit and Seattle are interesting. Goff has been able to put up a lot of points there in Detroit bit is he really a franchise QB? Is Geno Smith a flash in the pan? Raiders could be a wild card. I'm a Carr fan and I don't think they should move on, bit he's been highly disappointing this year given the fact they added Adams for him. Do you drop even further and talk with teams like Washington, Tampa, and the Jets?
  7. I can certainly get behind that, though I wish there was a more well rounded DE on the market. Ngakoue can get after the passer but he sucks against the run. He's kind of a poor man's Robert Quinn. Davenport can be good but he's hurt far too often for me. The RT market looks pretty good too, and from all the reports I've read, the center draft class looks really good and you can probably get a starter in the 3rd.
  8. I'm hoping they just front load the crap out of any deal for a guy like him. That way he's getting paid paid but when it comes time to pay Justin, it's gonna be a lot easier to do.
  9. Yup, I've been saying it for weeks now, Payne HAS to be their top priority. There's no reason they should be outbid. Dude is a stud.
  10. I wouldn't totally hate this, especially if there's an absolute haul to be had. I'd especially love to get picks back this year. I doubt Pittsburgh gives up on Pickett(They should) but if they wanna trade up in the 1st and give us our 2nd plus their 2nd, I'd sign up for that all day. It's gonna be Justin's 3rd year and I think these next 2 years they need to be all in before his contract gets silly. 3 top 40 picks to move down a few spots would be really nice. You'd also hope to get 2 more starters with the Baltimore pick and your high 3rd rounder. That's 5 top 65ish picks and 125 mill in cap space.
  11. I think, at the very least, he's your SAM next year, and there's certainly an argument to be made for him to be looked at for more. I know the bears have a ton of money and a full arsenal of draft picks, but there's gonna be some hold overs and I think Jack has been earning a role.
  12. I'm certainly not saying he's good, but I would absolutely bring him back. I think he can be a solid 3rd DE and I wouldn't HATE if he was starting. To me he's their best DE. Dom flashed really early and I think it got our hopes up. He still has potential for sure, but I'd prefer he be 4th on the depth charts. In that GB game, Quinn was still garnering a lot of attention so Gipson was able to do more. If you start adding guys like Payne and a good DE, it's gonna make things a lot easier for guys like Gipson, Jones, and Dom. I'd like them to do more, but if they added Payne(who is an absolute must to me if he hits the market) and Will Anderson in the draft, I'd be happy. I'd absolutely try and do that indy trade to bring in Buckner, but I doubt something like that would happen.
  13. Gipson has actually been the best of the bunch, but that's not really saying much. Gipson- 2 sacks/ 3 TFL/ 8 QB hits AQ- 1 sack/ 0 TFL/ 2 QB hits Dom- 1.5 sacks/ 2 TFL/ 2 QB hits

    Eddie Jackson

...Except he's under contract for another 2 and a half years. Soooooo....

    Eddie Jackson

I really think it's all about fit with him. He's in a scheme that fits what he does well and he's playing next to the type of player that allows him to be a legit "Free" safety. He's only gonna get better when the rest of the secondary gets better as well. Vidor stinks and Gordon is going through some growing pains. To me, he's a keeper. I think you keep your core 4 together in the secondary for a few more years.
  16. I don't necessarily think they should limit themselves to players under 30 next year. I think there should be some realistic expectations to compete, so adding some good veterans wouldn't be the worst idea.
  17. I'm with you on Braxton, I think he gets another year with heavy focus on strength training in the offseason. RT, if he hits the market, I want Conklin. I'd be fine with Jenkins but I want the best player available and to me thats Conklin. Ours Jenkins has obviously solved RG. I wanna see how Whitehair plays the rest of the season before I commit to him. The Bears won't be pinching pennies by any means, but if someone lines up at guard as BPA in the draft I could get behind just cutting ties. To me, the large focus in free agency should be on the lines.
  18. To me, Jalen Carter can be that guy you can't pass on if he's there. I was the highest on this board about Aaron Donald when he came out, and I think Carter is the next guy I'm going to bat for.
  19. The trenches on both sides need a serious work done. There's just no pass rush at all. I think the DL needs 4 new starters. Jones and Dom can be rotation pieces at DT and DE respectively. Daron Payne is my #1 target in the offseason.
  20. If that's available to them, I'd definitely be open to it, but man, if you can get a guy like Jalen Carter who solves your 3T for the next 5+ years, I think long and hard about staying put too. They need an impact player on that defense.
  21. You should get good players anywhere in the 1st round....but it's more likely you get a great player the higher up you are. I'd love to lose every game 42-35 or something like that where the offense is clearly balling out and ready to contend.
  22. It's gonna be interesting to see what they think of Patrick going in to next season. I'm still not sure what to think of him as a center. Hopefully the foot thing is a non issue and he can come right back and show us what he has for 10 games. RT is definitely in need of an upgrade unless they figure out Leatherwood which would be nice. Jenkins and a figured out Leatherwood on the right side could be nastyyyyy if they live up to their pre draft expectations.
  23. My hopes is Orlando Brown hits free agency and the Bears make him an offer he can't refuse then they get the WR from Ohio State in the 1st round. Right now Olave and Garrett Wilson, the 2 Ohio state WRs drafted this year are both in the top 25 in receiving yards in the NFL so when it comes to WRs OSU is doing something right. A 3T is definitely needed but the Bears HAVE to do something to really see if Fields is their guy. I would even look into trading for Galloday and using a 2nd or 3rd rounder on a TE as well. I can live with another shit year defensively if it meant they know what they have in Fields.
  24. I'm not sure if it's Getsy being conservative or if it's Fields. I think they are giving Fields a lot of RPOs and Fields is making the decision to hand it off instead of throwing the ball. If that is the case, Getsy may have to dial down the RPOs a bit and force Fields to throw the ball more and get him a little more comfortable.
  25. Green Bay might be without 3 starting OLmen. I know Rodgets owns the Bears, but he's gonna have some issues.
