I really think Young is gonna be more than a rotational player, but aside from that your point remains. What Stinger brought up is what I'd do on 3rd downs and when we're playing with a big lead (ie obvious passing situations).

I've gotta figure out how to shrink this shit with out making it look a little fuzzy my sig is an updated one......since everyone (seriously) wants old school I'll probably just end up using mine as my sig I reckon.

If it's something they wanna do (I still think they view Young as a starter), they can make it happen. In the first year of Peppers deal his cap hit is only 3.5m, the following year it goes up to to 12m, but they can release him for 7m in savings(5M in dead money). If the Bears think they need him, I'd do something like that.

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet 9m Tidbit 1 on Jared Allen: He's considering 3 places now, with walking away still an option. Should know by the weekend what his future is Hmmm.... The only rumored teams I've heard linked to Allen is Seattle, Denver, Dallas, and Chicago. Denver is probably out after signing Ware Dallas is probably out after signing Melton (Rapoport or Shefty said it was probably either or) Are the Bear out after the Young signing? The recent cuttings of Bennett/Weems have me feeling they're gearing up for something. Seattle has to be the favorites though.

Not a Bears item, but a Q on how we all view things...

Go for it man, I'm enjoying messing around with things....You make the old school one and I'll make the new school? -

I'll see what I can do, it got a little blurry when I shrunk it down to the size of the old one. -
Come on now, the cracker/jason feud has more heat. The feud between me an stinger is so last week. I vote for my banner in the other thread since I probably have to make it and don't wanna make another lol.....I suppose I could though.

Here's what I just threw together.... Not great, but it's somethin. Need to touch up Marshalls arm just a bit. I could try to whip something up with the legends if that's what we want. I encourage others to give it a shot as well. -
1.5 mill w/ 500k in incentives for Corey. So he could top out at 2M....That sounds about right.

All the moving around last year didn't do him any justice, he was pretty bad. He's never proven himself as a full time starter yet. I'd say a 1 year deal is what's best for him.

Sounds like a plan. On that note I've actually never made a poll before....I'm sure it's not hard to figure out but if someone else wans to make it, go for it. With the Bears being offensive oriented now a days I vote for one with Forte/Marshall/Jeffery/Bennett -

Change is good my friend. Soxtalk changes theirs every year. Ironically this year they have Frank Thomas so they went with a blast from the past (Because he was just inducted in the HoF). Who made the one we see now??? I'm not bad with photoshop, but I'm not great either. -
Ya, the Allen rumor was premature....PFT says he'll make a decision this weekend.

lol ya beat me! mods go ahead and delete my thread. The NFC North DE shuffle continues. Wootton is a Viking Peppers is a Packer Young is a Bear Izzy is a Bear Is Allen to the Bears the next part of the NFC-N shuffle??? (doubtful) I'm fine with Houston/Young, but I can't deny how sexy it would be to add Allen to the mix.

I'd rather go with Marshall/Jeffery and maybe MartyB....but that's cause I'm a "young'n" -
Apparently he'll play on offense as well....That could be interesting.

Devin Hester is gone!

I know it's bleacher report, but Matt Miller does deserve a little respect.... He has Mundy as the 26th ranked safety (out if 75)....Wright/Conte didn't even make the list. I think he's our starting SS and we'll grab our FS in the draft (Unless they surprise us and sign Clemons).
-
CBS has him at 5-11", same as Pryor...I think you could be thinking of his teammate LaMarcus Joyner who is 5-8.

In this scenario, where we trade down and Donald is still there (That's what the article suggests) I'd probably go with(assuming we get a 2nd rounder for trading down).... 1R- Aaron Donald DT- "A dream for teams looking for a 3T DT" - 2R- Terrance Brooks or Ed Reynolds FS- Both are said to be good in coverage and that's what we need 2R- Kareem Martin DE- I'm less pessimistic about Houston/Young than everyone else here, but depth is still a plus to keep everyone fresh 3R- Charles Sims RB- RB needs to be addressed fairly early IMO, can Forte stay healthy 2 years in a row??? 4R- C.J. Fiedeorowicz TE- After the Rosario sign/cut/sign escapades I get the feeling they're not 100% sold on him. C.J. makes the red zone O deadly. 5R- Walt Aikens CB- CB with good size who gets to learn under Peanut for a year. 6R- Jeff Mathews QB- I'd like to think Trestman can get a lot of the Ivy League kid 6R- Justin Britt OT- Still wanna see Eben brought back, but even with him re signed they can still use an OT prospect.

FS is def a need (I agree Mundy will be our SS), but I think an interior pass rush is a much bigger need. I will keep coming back to 2012 when the Bears had a top 5 D with Conte and Wright back there. I'm not saying I want guys of their quality back there again but they can get by without having an elite(or potentially elite) player like HHCD or Pryor. Last year I kept quoting articles that said the 3-tech is the key to a cover 2 defense, and I still firmly believe that. Ratliff and Izzy, at this point in their careers are probably just run stuffers. I'd love to be wrong on Ratliff, and perhaps he deserves the oppertunity to show it but I'll remain skeptical of a guy who hasn't done much in 4 years. Paea has never been a good pass rusher either. Houston, sack numbers be damned, is a huge upgrade over last years version of Peppers. Again, there's a reason why PFt had him ranked in the top 10 and Peppers missed the top 50. Young I'm less sure about, but I think he's a starting quality DE, and he'll be just that a starter. What's kind of ironic that I've read on Lions message boards that he's a good situational pass rusher and here people question his pass rush ability because he only had 4 sacks. That's just gow I see it though, I understand the want for a guy like HHCD.
-
An interior pass rusher is the teams #1 need IMO. A guy like Donald would indeed be a game changer for this team. Last year we had 6 total sacks from our DTs. Year before we had at least 13, I say at least 13 because I can't find how many of Izzy's 7.5 came from the inside.

I'm obviously the vote for standard, I find the flow of reading everything much smoother.
