  1. I'm still big time intrigued by Hooker. He was dealing with injuries in the Michigan game and when you watch that tape, he was STILL ridiculous. If he can play the way he did WITH an injury, he can be an All Pro type player. He is what this team needs.
  2. I'm glad the Watson hype is seemingly slowing down. The more i read up and watch him, the less I'm interested in him. I'm not excited about any of the top 3 guys really. Give me Mahomes, Kelly, Webb, or the QB from Colorado a little later in the draft. Let them sit a year behind a guy like Hoyer or maybe even Romo.
  3. Ya know what, if they can get him without giving up the 3rd pick, I think I would do it. I don't think this team is that far away. Add in Jimmy G, the 3rd overall pick, and 2 or 3 good free agents andif healthy this team can make the playoffs.
  4. I do love next years QB class a whole heckofa lot more than this years. That said, I think I'd rather give Ryan Mallet, Ryan Nassib, or Landry Jones a shot before I go after Shaub. I do think Romo makes the most sense though. Is he an injury risk? Absolutely, but if he stays healthy, you have a legitamte shot at the playoffs. If he gets hurt? Oh well, the bears season is probably lost outside of a healthy Romo anyway. In no circumstances do i think we should give up a first for Jimmy G. If they come down off that 1st round desire and will take a 2nd and a 44th maybeeeee.
  5. Yep, and if they play their cards right, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears do just that.
  6. Yikes, guess that's what happens when you work over 60 hours a week for the whole season. Ill revise later.
  7. Just say no to Kalil, he's been one of the worst tackles in the league for a couple years now. Reiff was moved to RT and that is prob where he belongs. 1. Stephen Gilmore CB- Probably the best corner in this year's group. 2. Tony Jefferson S- For whatever reason signing Berry to a huge contract kinda scares me. 3. Gavin Escobar TE- Loved him out of the draft. Could be the next the to step out of Wittens shadow to shine(like Marty 1. Myles Garrett OLB- one way to really help the secondary is by building a dominant pass rush. 2. Pat Mahomes QB- Some might view this as a reach, but I loveeee me some Pat Mahomes. 3. Taylor Motion OT- I think he rises and won't be here but the only 7 round mock I see has him there sooo... 4. Kevin King CB- Huge 6'3" corner 5. Justin Jackson RB- Homer pick to compete with Langford as the backup 7. Austin Carr WR- Back to back Homer picks. Carr is a perfect slot guy and it's a shame he gets no draft buzz
  8. Kinda forgot about this guy, but the talent is there. From the looks of it he has a very poor work ethic and that is what kept him out of the league last year. Bears WR coach Curtis Johnson seems like a guy who might be able to get the best out of him because he won't put up with his BS. Maybe the year off will be the kick in the ass he needs and he'll come back hungry and willing to put his talent to good use. In his 2nd to last year he had 971 yards and in his last year he had 8 TDs, so again, there is some talent there, all that remains to be seen is if he is willing to use it.

    QB options

One name worth throwing out there, if he gets released for some reason, is Tyrod Taylor. If not, Romo makes too much sense to me. Gimme Romo and a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
  10. Look out for Josh Allen out of Wyoming if he comes out. He looks like he could be this years Wentz. Same skills set too, big guy at 6'5" with good mobility. If Garrett and Allen(the DE) are gone I would try to trade down. If you can't trade down, I would go with Adams or the corner out of Bama. The secondary needs to be addressed. Not really high on any of the QBs are a 1st rounder. I'd rather go with a guy like Kaaya in the 2nd.
  11. Fine with me as long as they protect him.
  12. I'm not saying I want a run first QB. I just wanna see a guy who can occasionally break it down and give the offense a positive when everyone is covered.
  13. I think Chad Kelly absolutely goes in the first. I do agree with everything else here. It all starts with protecting and getting after the QB.
  14. You wouldn't want Kizer or Watson? I really like Chad Kelly too and even he breaks it down to run from time to time.
  15. They certainly have addressed it, but you can't deny it's been bad any through 2 games.....I do think the line will start to mesh a lot more down the road.....Well the interior anyway. The tackles are gonna be a different story though. Anyway, I love how there are like 24 posts in this thread and only 2 of them are talking about him having a broken thumb. Smh. I'm 100% cool with making a change at Qb next year, but simply for cap purposes.....and because I kinda wanna watch one of them fancy running QBs.

    A way out

Raiders have Crabtree who has a fairly decent contract for the next few years.

    Right moves?

Wow. Shows you how out of touch I've been lately.
  18. Huge move assuming the cut was only for money reasons and not his back or something else. Sitton has played a little center too, but I expect him at LG.

    Right moves?

Say what you will about him, but Mariani is the answer if Royal and Thompson go down. The WR coach, who is a hard ass so I don't expect fluff, is said to really like Mariani. I wouldn't be surprised if we see both Royal and Mariani on the field from time to time.
  20. Said to be an up and coming slot corner who was released by the Browns because well....They're the Browns. This was the note when he was waived. Browns waived CB K'Waun Williams. Williams had been suspended by the Browns for two games after disobeying their wishes to avoid surgery on his troublesome ankle. A second, outside opinion revealed Williams needed surgery and he underwent the procedure. One of the league's better young slot corners, Williams should resurface quickly. Aug 29 - 4:06 PM
  21. Huge loss for them. Shaun Hill is their back up.
  22. Wouldn't hate it....Ravens released him because they don't like his stance on medical marijuana. Not sure if that is something the Bears would take part of either though. We all know my stance on marijuana, and especially for medical reasons I stand with Monroe on this.
  23. Chandler looks mildly interesting when looking at his rotoworld notes. Here are some interesting notes. After training with Panthers OT Nate Chandler the past two summers, Hall of Fame LT Jackie Slater claimed "there's no doubt in my mind he's a top left tackle." A converted defensive tackle, 25-year-old Chandler made eight 2013 starts, six at guard and two at right tackle. He's now battling Byron Bell to start on Cam Newton's blind side. "He's mentally equipped to solve problems, and that's what you have to do to play offensive tackle in this league," said Slater, a seven-time Pro Bowler who's now the OL coach at Azusa Pacific University. "He's going to be a good offensive lineman in the National Football League for a very long time." Bears signed T/G Nate Chandler, formerly of the Panthers. It's another worthwhile pickup for Bears GM Ryan Pace, who's gotten off to a fast start since replacing Phil Emery two winters ago. 27-year-old Chandler is well regarded amongst media offensive line evaluators and offers 19 games of starting experience with the ability to handle both guard and tackle. Chicago's biggest weakness is left tackle, where Charles Leno presently resides He was hurt last year so that could explain why he was still available.

    OTA updates

If I had to guess, Jones would be Floyd's backup as the speed pass rush guy. None of McPhee/Houston/Young are really guys you can twist around and do the type of things Floyd will do. And when I say backup I mean if Floyd gets hurt. If he stays healthy I dont think Jones sees the field.

    Zach Miller

Miller has a lot riding on him this year so I'm glad he has put in some good work on his body. I have some faith in Alshon. I don't know how long he was there, but working out at Jay Glazers new age gym really should have helped a ton. Houston does indeed look to be in great shape. Gonna be interesting to see how the OLB rotation works this year. I'm rooting for Houston now more than ever. One of my good friends was in a really bad car accident with her son and Lamarr sent her son a Bears teddy bear and some other gear.
