  1. Uhh ok, just signed him a little bit ago....odd. Dane Noble ‏@WindyCGridiron 4m #Bears cut tight end Dante Rosario, leaves them with @MartysaurusRex and @TheFirst_48 http://sbn.to/1fl7lDi
  2. Yup, apparently 2 teams offered more money. I share the same hope. Hoping for Johnson or Houston at 5-7M
  3. 28.5M for Bennett...Wow. All reports say that's less than what the Bears offered. Respect for goin after titles over $$$. Hopefully the Bears make him regret it by winning one before Seattle. ProFootballTalk ‏@ProFootballTalk 2m Everson Griffen, with one career start, gets $8.5M/year with Vikings. Michael Bennett takes $7.125M/year to stay in Seattle.
  4. Who really knows at this point lol. With Everson Griffen signing for around the same money as Bennett I have no clue what to expect anymore. Rotoworld said Houston, while listed at 300, looks more around the 275 range, he's a DE, and he's fantastic against the run. Getting after the QB he's just kinda meh. Johnson's interesting, sack number fell big time but he still got after the QB and he's good against the run
  5. Ya, I agree with that, Emery has spent big money as well (Bringing in Marshall, Cutler deal, Bushrod and MartyB deals were cheap year 1 but expensive overall) Well, on to Michael Johnson or Lamarr Houston.
  6. Welp.... Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 1m Michael Bennett to #Seahawks on a 4-year contract reports @ProFootballTalk Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1m And now, as @ProFootballTalk reported, Seattle's deal with DE Michael Bennett is done. Expect it to be four years, about $34 million. If the rumored numbers are true and the Bears offered the same 8.5M then the whole "Bears won't spend the money" argument is out the window. Lame. Guess he wanted a better chance to win, which I can respect.
  7. Sacks aren't everything. He pressured the QB 66 times that's 4x as much as Julius Peppers. Had 44 the year before in Tampa.....There's a reason why PFF had him as their 7th ranked DE in 2012 and 5th best last year.
  8. Oh terrator you silly silly man.
  9. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 9m .@DanWiederer reports #Bears closing in on a contract for LB D.J. Williams to return. http://bit.ly/1h7u6by More than likely another vet min deal, or near it. Believe he played for a mill last year, probably gets less after another injury plagued season. Would provide nice competition to Bostic and SMD (Greene as well I suppose). I still expect 2 of those 3 to be the starters. ****EDIT*** Done deal, details later.
  10. Don't hate that idea either.
  11. If they miss out on the high paid DEs I'd be cool with this.
  12. Could be a good option as well. Brad Biggs ‏@BradBiggs 2m One source says #Bears offering $8.5 million per year for Michael Bennett and #Seahawks at $8 million annually. That is word around league. That'd be wild considering what Griffen just got.
  13. What do you think his cap hit might be when you extend him? He's under contract for next year as well and he'll be 35 then. If you extend him, how much are you gonna pay for a 36 year old? Also Schefter drops this on us.... Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 53s Seahawks have emerged as the favorite to land free-agent DT Michael Bennett, and keep him in Seattle, per sources. Announcement could come today. That'd be a buzz kill. Lovie and the Bucs are rollin in money and really want Johnson as well so he might not be an option either. L. Houston is interesting I guess.
  14. The way I'm looking at it now, from a financial standpoint, what if Peppers had a year like Bennett, and don't let the sack numbers fool you Bennett>>>>Peppers? Would you still cut him? Would you just restructure his deal and push the cap problems back another year? How much cap would you really free if you did that? What would that be in relative to what Bennett is gonna make? If Peppers was the player Bennett was I think we'd still be in same position cap wise.

    bro to bro

I told everyone to "set their DVRs" to watch Michael and Martellus segment on NFL AM...well for those who missed it.... http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-am/0ap200000...lus-and-Michael Man it'd be bearsome (a word MartyB made up) just to see those guys together off the field.
  16. Ya, it wouldn't surpise me if this deal was done within the first hour of the non tampering period. With the flexibility in the Cutler/Jennings/Slausson deals, I think they'll be fine financially. With the cap increasing the next 2 years I would have no problem dipping into those contracts and spreading out the cap hits.
  17. See, I try to let this end on a cival note and you continue with the trash talk. FOR THE LAST TIME and if you reply back with something dumb I'm just gonna block you....I DON'T DISLIKE YOU! NOR DO I CARE IF YOU MISSPELL WORDS. IT'S THE SIMPLE NAMES LIKE RATLIFF AND TUITT THAT ANNOY ME. PREIOD. THE END...... Now back to football.... Biggs still believes Bennett is priority numero uno http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3800565.story In case you don't read the article, make sure to set your DVRs to record NFL AM on NFL Network. The Bennett bros will have a segment called bro 2 bro, which should be hilarious and could provide some insight on Michaels plans
  18. I'll make this my last post on the subject since it's apparently touch, I don't care if you misspell the word "dog", it's just the Ratlcliffs and the Truitts that annoy men. We see the names a million times and we've heard em a million times.....Hell I myself have been making common grammer mistakes and misspelling words, that's fine cause as you said this is a football board. And for the millionth time I don't hate you....Hell my best friend constantly used to call Kyle Korver, Kyle Kulver, and he used to call Batista (Yes I'm a wresling fan) Balista for some reason and I got him every single time....Does that mean I don't like him? Of course not Again, I don't wanna make this more than it is so reply if you must but I will be backing away.
  19. We'll see how crazy this gets man, I still think they can work him in the budget, but I'm a lot less optimistic now.
  20. lol I love this post. Bennett won't be getting 84M...

    Goodbye McCown

    ...and Martellus Bennett
  22. Love Nasty Nate, with todays medicine I have no doubt he can come back healthy and contribute. 3 deep at DT now, I'd like to see em go 5 deep with a starting 3T and a later round run stuffer. Palmer is a meh signing....but then again so was McCown back when.
  23. Ya, I had him pegged at 4M tops. Double that is just cray.
  24. That's just 1 category though. As a whole Griffen had a 4.7 grade, Bennett had a 36.2.
  25. It's just ludicrous to misspell a simple name like Ratliff. I'd understand misspelling Ozougwo or something like that but for god sake man! I still think there's a chance, albeit a lot slimmer of a chance. Like I said I think it all comes down to whether or not they wanna dip into those contracts more than just a bit.
