  1. So less than 2 receptions a game? That doesn't sound all that bad considering he played the most snaps of anyone on defense. It looks like an ugly number on paper but I don't think it really tells the whole story....If he was so bad, why weren't teams targeting him more? How was he in the other 900+ snaps where he wasn't targeted? Were the lack of targets due to the fact that he was playing solid coverage the vast majority of the time?
  2. Fwiw, Kam Chancellor had a worse completion % against. I think Amos will be fine and his cover skills will come around. He was targeted 25 times in over 1000 snaps so it's not like he was being picked on or anything.
  3. Didn't the Bears run a ZBS in the Trestman/Kromer era? I seem to recall Long getting out and to the 2nd level quite a bit and doing it quite well.
  4. Meh, they still have a ton of cap room. I don't really see the need to cut Houston. Houston to me is gonna be in on running downs. I could see Willie in sub packages with he and Floyd on the edges and Mcphee playing inside.

Add Kieren Duncan to the list. 5'11" WR who ran a hand timed 4.25 40 and an electronically timed 4.32 40.....Could be moderately interesting.
  6. Looks like he could fill in for Gould too.... The more I watch stuff on this kid the more I get excited to see how he progresses.
  7. What might be interesting to note is they used an IR spot on Washington so I think they like him a bit. Had they not liked him, you'd think think they'd just release him. I think Wilson stays. If I had to guess, we keep AJ, White, Royal, Wilson, Braverman, and maybe Thompson. If White or/and AJ go down the WR core gets a little short. Jones wouldn't surprise me one bit. I think Houston sticks around and plays on running downs while Fangio uses Floyd just like he did Aldon Smith on passing downs. Rodgers is kinda meh. He's a solid pass catcher, but that should be what Langford is as well. Wilie Young is a guy who I think gets cut.

    new TE

Interesting stuff. He ran a 4.77 at his pro day so he's a solid athlete and you have to imagine he has good hands if they are thinking about switching him.
  9. The buzz going in was about Floyd and Rankins. The Floyd buzz was obviously on point, so if I had to guess, they would have went with Rankins. I'm not sure Lawson brings the type of athleticism they wanted. He seems more like a power player.

    Slauson released

Still getting paid, nothing needs to be said. =p
  11. It's in his post. Hit and ran a guy on a bike and threatened some guy with brass knucks.
  12. Yikes. I'll let Fangio decide this one.
  13. Still just 27 and was "Excellent" in 2014. Assuming he's healthy, absolutely. Let him and Porter compete for the roll of veteran corner.

    Deon Bush Videos

Not sure how it played out, but I wanna say when the 9ers drafted Jimmie Ward they used 3 safeties. Not sure if that was all at the same time or if they rotated Ward in. I could see Fangio doing the same type of thing with Amos/Bush/DHC.

    Deon Bush Videos

Have you watched any 2014 tape on him? That's the player I'm sure the Bears are hoping to get. https://youtu.be/Y_6YdEPHhzY

    Deon Bush Videos

From what I've read, and what I saw in the first 5 seconds of the first video, the kid played banged up in 2015. His 2014 tape is said to be a lot better.

    Rolle released

Kid from Miami is that type of guy. In today's passing league ya gotta have some cover skills though as well. That's why I think Kearse went so late and Cash went undrafted.

    Slauson released

I'm kinda wondering if it has to do with Slauson not being overly athletic. Whitehair isn't Kyle Long, but he's athletic nevertheless.

    Rolle released

Welp there goes my 2 cents. I thought they would keep him around to mentor the youngins.
  20. In addition to not grabbing a WR, Decker may not be a LT and Riley Reiff has been awful in pass protection. They may be transitioning into more of a run first team
  21. Rolle isn't a bad player, and he's like a coach on the field. I would hope he sticks around to help mentor these guys. He and Bush are already workout buddies apparently.
  22. Windy city gridiron does a sack watch every year and they only pinned 4.33(not sure how they come up with .33) sacks on Leno last year. I don't think it's crazy to think he gets better and turns into a serviceable LT. I'm sure they can throw some training camp snaps Long and Whitehairs way to put some pressure on Leno. My hope is we see Leno-Slauson-Whitehair-Long-Massie, or possibly switch Whitehair and Slaus.
  23. In terms of value the draft was absolutely a success butttttt this is still gonna be a wait and see draft for me. Gonna be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I'm hoping for Nick VanHoose. After watching every game of his it kinda boggles my mind that he isn't higher thought of.
  25. Guess them really liking Leno wasn't just a smoke screen. Will Beaty and Jake Long are still out there if they wanna kick the tires on those guys. Still wouldn't rule out Long there. I know he's a Beast at guard, and he struggled a bit at RT but he was kinda pressed into the role late. With more time to prepare he could be a lot better.
