  1. To you first nugget, that's on the offensive and defensive side correct? I think Jay was the only guy who got hurt on offense so that number is a bit skewed. Packers D was garbage too because of injuries.....Looking at the Saints stats they still had a lot of talent that stayed relatively healthy. David Hawthorne, Cameron Jordan, Keenan Lewis, Will Smith and Curtis Lofton all played every game, and Kenny Vaccaro only missed 2 games. So they still had 6 key guys play all but 2 games. Bears pretty much had nothing.
  2. Huh??? Pats D gave up just 343 less yards than the Bears did.(26th place)
  3. Touche. Point kinda remains though. You can't expect to be any good when you have a glut of injuries all across the board, and particularly on the DL when the key to your D is just that, the DL.
  4. Who knows, but I just don't blame them for giving him another chance..... Cowboys were in the same situation injury wise, had a defense that gave up 300 more yards than the Bears, and their staff has remained intact so far.
  5. Except it wasn't really that similar. Their DEs were healthy all but 1 game and weren't forced to move out of position. Their starting NT played every game. Their backup for Atkins was a 3rd round pick. Their best run stuffer, Burfict played every game and racked up 171 tackles.
  6. Find me a year where the DL.... -Lost their starting pro bowl DT. -Lost their 2nd string DT -Had their 3rd string DT quit on them. -Had their other starting DT battle injuries all year -Was forced to play their starting 270 pound DE at DT. -Because of being forced to play your starting DE at DT they were forced to play a 3rd down rush DE as an every down DE. -Lost their best run stuffing LB for nearly half the season.
  7. yes so huge that they should have been historically bad. When the key to the style of defense you run is the DL and you're forced to throw out some of the hot garbage they did on said DL the whole D is gonna suffer. I wanted a new DC myself, but I'm not gonna pretend they were god awful because of Mel.
  8. Man Jaime Collins is gonna be a beast in this league. I was broadcasting for him so hard in my mock drafts, and he went just 2 picks after Bostic, really wish he was the pick.j
  9. Jim Tomsula is an interesting name that is making some head coaching noise. If he doesn't get that HC maybe he moves on up from DL coach in San Fran to a DC job here.
  10. I don't see how it was a dumb thing to do, if that style ain't broke, don't fix it. It didn't work in hindsight but I have no problem with the logic.
  11. lol how so??? I didn't mean "Oh if it's approved by Angelo it must be a bad deal" I simply meant that it was approved by a former GM.
  12. The deal is JA approved...

    Rumor has it

Charles Tillman ‏@peanuttillman 10 Jan I just saved 15% on my car insurance. I'm so excited, just thought I should share this with y'all. Lol! I think he's just messing with us with that tweet and still has real news to announce, but who knows.

    Rumor has it

Before reading up on things, his signing would tell me that they're sticking with a 4-3....BUT... I have read that you can indeed run cover 2 coverages out of a 3-4 defense so that throws everything out the window with that logic. I still really wish he'd convert to FS, and can't understand why he wouldn't want to. He would have the opportunity to be around the ball so much more and thus have more opportunities to create turnovers.
  15. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10268780...y-chicago-bears Good stuff! Congrats AJ!
  16. Depends what defense we run If we stick with a 4-3 my wish list would be... DE- Michael Bennett- He's not the best DE on the market but I do think he'd give the Bears the best deal. FS- Jarius Byrd- It is a wish list after all. Resign Melton, Ratliff, Williams and Tillman (just including the "big names") Draft 1R- Stephon Tuit DE/DT- Starting DL = Bennett-Melton-Ratliff-Tuit 2R- Travis Swanson OC- Yup, I went there. 3R- Deone Bucannon SS- pairs with Byrd to really finish off the starting D. 4R- Taylor Hart DE/DT- Provides depth at both DE and DT 5R- De'Anthony Thomas RB- Since I'm cutting Bush I need a RB. A punishing up the gut RB doesn't seem to be a need. 6R- Boseko Lokombo OLB- Yup, 3 straight Ducks. Lokombo provides competition to Greene and the loser of Williams/Bostic for OLB. 6R- Marcel Jenkins TE- Potential steal of the draft and a backup for Bennett If we switch to a 3-4 Vontae Davis CB- Has the speed to play man to man. Jarius Byrd FS- Again, this is a wish list right? I say that because I don't think he'll hit FA Terrance Cody NT- I'm not sure Ratliff still has what it takes to man NT, Cody sure does Resign Wootton, Williams, Ratliff Draft 1R Tuit DE- Fits both systems. Front 3= Tuit-Cody-Wootton. 2R- Christian Jones ILB- LBs = Briggs-Williams/Bostic-Jones-SMC/Bostic 3R- Deone Bucannon S- Same 4R- Tyler Larson OC- Good fit in a inside zone scheme 5R- De'Anthony Thomas- Same 6R- Ryan Carrenthers NT- NT prospect to fill in should big ol Mt. Cody gets hurt. 6R- L'Damian Washington WR- A 6'4" WR project that runs a 4.3, um yes please.
  17. Psh, I coulda done that.
  18. When you speak of tradition, has it always been 6 teams making it? I'm a "young gun" so I don't know.
  19. Way I see it is the money is there if they need it. Plain and simple. Like I've outlined a million times though already, I think the Bears will be working with a good deal of cap space already should they release Pep, Bennett, Bush, Weems?, and Podlesh while also extending Marshall so I'm not so sure they would actually need to do anything with the Cutler deal....If they have to though, the money is there.
  20. Lol where was this 2 years ago?? Bears would have been in the playoffs back to back seasons. I'm cool with this, the more football I get to watch the better.
  21. Thanks for the insight. When I do these mock drafts I just go off scouting reports (unless they're from a B1G school or a school that gets a lot of air time) and this is what the mock had to sat about him.... Skill-Set Summary: There is a lot to like about Johnson. He is extremely fast, athletic and physical. Johnson seems to have the speed and quick-twitch ability to function in space that are key in the passing-driven NFL. Playing in the SEC should provide him with solid preparation to take on ground offenses at the next level. But, after further looking into it just now I looked up his 40 time and it split (l0w/avg/high) 4.62/4.73/4.85.....Which isn't "bad" for an LB, but it isn't "speedy" or "extremely fast".
